  1. Re:Details on 3D Video Game Collaboration Used To Solve Crimes · · Score: 1

there's no artists involved.. just a laser scanner, photo's and the software to stitch it all together into a 3D model of the scene. that doesn't make it any better, but at least there's a chance the subtleties will appear. and the chance that someone notices is just added to anything the police would normally do.

problem is: this fire (the cia) is a little too big to kill off, or "extinguish". so instead, you make sure it can't do any more harm by letting others know what the cia knows. that's like counter-fire, i guess.

what i meant with direct fuel.. well, you could power a propeller using an electric motor and notice hardly a difference if it had the same power and weight. a jet engine, on the other hand, would probably function very differently using hydrogen instead of kerosine. i didn't know that propeller airplanes are more efficient though. i thought jet planes were. my bad..

  4. Re:Huh? on UAVs Go Green With Fuel-Cell Powered "Ion Tiger" · · Score: 1

it doesn't make sense to use this for a commercial airline anyway, since the reason they're so fast is the jet engine. it uses direct fuel, while hydrogen-powered vehicles use the hydrogen to provide electrical power. AFAIK. that said, a plane with just one moving part.. itself.. would be awesome. you'd need to somehow get a grip on the air around it to do anything though, but once you've got that you have yourself a flying saucer kind of setup. something like this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KS3mT9eCDVw

it's the idiots that he's trying to convince. and there's plenty of those.

  11. another difference: most MUDs are free, as far as i know (hardly ever played them, rather young geekling here). that means if you run into some glaring error that makes the game unplayable or horribly annoying, you just move on to another MUD. most MMORPGs have subscriptions or monthly game cards, so you don't just hop on over to another. MMORPGs are designed to prevent people from switching to another game, anyway. so if one of them suddenly gets a bug.. well, most players are "stuck" with it.

Sure, just setting it a few years later would be silly, but you could continue where the old one left off.. everyone's gone back to their old time and Chrono's mom went through the portal after their cat. Maybe some epic scene that defines a new hub of time? The kitty was led into the portal by some mysterious guy who needs Frog's help.. and uses the team to find him again.

It's not hard to think of some way to continue the story. If I can think up something just like that, anyone can. Especially square :)
