We can't know in advance just what we'd do with those samples, but we definitely should keep them around just in case we need that data years in the future... and go all "Oh drat! Forgot to backup our animals.."
I'd have to agree that Kari Byron both pulls off the "sexy" and "scientist" part better than these girls. And she's not even a scientist, nor trying (or at least this obviously) to be sexy.
Sadly, the 3D printing of living animals will still be a bit further away than the 3D printing of cars and handbags. Still, we need only wait and technology will provide us with many new ways to pirate livestock!
It might be possible to create a sheath around the arm (after all, there are no sharp or otherwise dangerous parts sticking out of it) that would give it some pressure. That way, it could work in space.
Personally, I don't even think I'd have to pause to think about it. Range checking becomes as natural to a programmer eventually as basic grammar becomes to most human beings.
I think that's the point: they're going through their resources (and morals) so quickly out of fear of those scary muslims that they'll eventually destroy themselves in non-military ways. Rather than being conquered, they'll be rendered irrelevant by their own actions.
Personally, I'd say "like" buttons in various shapes and sizes come standard in the human body package. I'd dare bet that you've played with one of yours in the past week. Perhaps even the last 24 hours.
As a dutchman, I'm telling you that plenty of us would be happy to kick Wilders out of the country-... or better yet, launch him on a one-way trip to space if we can. But we can't seem to get him out of our politics democratically because a lot of christians vote for him out of fear of muslims.
Apparently, for some of us any muslim is worth losing all common sense over. I guess.. that's some bonus points to them muslim-folks? Seriously though, this deserves a huge facepalm.
So, this article led me on something almost resembling a wiki-walk. While I was reading about the IP implications of all this, I remembered the commercials-... you wouldn't steal a car, so why would you steal music? Well... we're already copying music (which does not take away the original) and I'm sure plenty of us would LOVE to copy a car. Or hell, design their own.
The coming century is likely to become a golden age for consumer industry if we have our way, or a dark age of gradually-reinforcing IP laws if the big companies have their way. Hence, it's extra important that we fight back against things like SOPA/ACTA/PIPA and the like.
That said-.. I'm going to play "don't copy that floppy". Just for the hell of it.
Perhaps he's insinuating that, if there's manpower to spare on either of those things, it should go to the more serious crimes. And the punishment should also fit the crime, and not be blown out of proportion.
Even if he's not insinuating that, perhaps I should do so.
Perhaps, but it seems like the whole game revolves around this assassin. To have him still be connected to the whole end-of-the-earth thing, wouldn't he need to have the same precursor/forefather/whatever genes that Ezio and Altair shared? To have the eagle vision and those semi-psychic abilities?
Another thing to note: how would he have been a great-great-great-etc. grandson to the Italian Ezio Auditore and the Syrian Altaïr Ibn-La'Ahad, if he were fully native? He's pretty much got to have some European/Asian genes in him. So consider this to be me backing up both you and BinarySolo a few posts down.
Perhaps in the judge's point of view, if nobody ever hacked, there would not be a risk like this. So, people hacking stuff creates said risk. So... people who hack anything must be punished for the existence of this risk, no matter what they hacked or why they hacked.
It does: you'd need some proof. If you have the choice of reacting to every single claim that just tells you the steps and stuff (plenty of which might end up being useless or fake), or just reacting to the ones that actually got something they shouldn't have, the latter is much more likely to be cost-effective in terms of time spent investigating the leak.
There will always be people trying to do this, whether hobbyist or professionals making a quick buck. So any leak -needs- to be fixed. Your argument implies that it's possible to scare people into never ever doing this sort of thing again, and people have been trying to do just that for years already. Newsflash: people still hack into servers, and all the scare tactics have only served to punish those who went public with their findings-... the ones who mean to do right and point out the risks, rather than keep it to themselves and use it for personal gain.
Scare tactics are not having the intended effect. Perhaps it'd be good if people started thinking of other solutions?
Of course with the current pixel size, there's a size limit to how intricate you can make things. Which may not be of interest to you, but as both a hobbyist graphic designer and programmer I know I'd love the ability to make things look just a little smoother and more detailed.
On the other hand, I'd rather have a non-Apple device with such a resolution. But eh, Apple's always been the folks who make useful things popular so hey why not?
Just to back up your argument: a little while ago I wanted to play Mechwarrior 3 again. I have no working CD of it. Guess what my only option was?... Hell, when I bought Dungeon Keeper 2, the original CD started getting all weird on me after maybe a year. So, what... am I supposed to stop playing the games I love when they're past their expiration date, maybe buy some new shitty shovelware to amuse myself until the next Skyrim-minus-DRM thing comes out?
Oh wait. Wait. That is EXACTLY what they want me to do. Bluh.
This needs a +1, agreed.
We can't know in advance just what we'd do with those samples, but we definitely should keep them around just in case we need that data years in the future... and go all "Oh drat! Forgot to backup our animals.."
Still not as obvious as this. I stand by my point. Or perhaps I just haven't seen the episodes you have..
Real women geeking out? ... I'd watch it.
That's almost bordering on porn, right there!
I'd have to agree that Kari Byron both pulls off the "sexy" and "scientist" part better than these girls. And she's not even a scientist, nor trying (or at least this obviously) to be sexy.
Noo, read it as "I A N A Lanpaul". I Am Not A Lanpaul.
What the hell is a lanpaul?
On an article about the euro zone and bitcoins. Not all that US-centric here.
It'll still reject the oil, but the new thing is that this thing won't sink in oil instantly if a drop of water gets on it.
There will always be crates. No matter if you must use them for cover or break them for goodies; there WILL be crates!

So it's a race then, between the USA and the extremist muslims: who can destroy themselves faster?

Hardcore X-ray operation-... now WITHOUT protection!
(Surely I can't have been the only one to think this)
