It can encode/decode 1080P, so why didn't they put a 1080P Display controller on it? Your new HD mobile device will still be limited to WXGA 1280x800....So much for an HD iPad competitor.
once I told a coworker about emule. He downloaded and installed it. The next morning the CFO comes to me.... "Have you ever heard about emule"...the infastructure was screwed up, but instead of fix it they waited for p2p to bring the network to it's knees. The best way to test a network is to see how many simultaneous p2p connections it can handle before crapping out. Needless to say there were some consequenced for that employee.

The megacorps of the fashion industry give designers jobs. Without them no one would notice their designs. Fashion is about reputation. If designers get a big name company to copy them that gives them a good reputation and probably a loyal following of customers looking for the next hot thing.
OSS is the same way. Big name companies use Linux in their solutions it grows the brand. Everyone knows Linus for inventing Linux. Without the big name companies copying, contributing and using Linux no one would know who Linus is. Now many personal users use Linux.

work done as an employee is typically owned by the employer, but it's my understanding contractors own the copyright unless specified in the contract. They are self employed and can distribute code with whatever terms they agree upon.

First of all the big bang, evolution and earth's origin doesn't effect massive amounts of the world economy. Secondly, all those theories that are trying to explain the past. Climate change is trying to predict the future. The science should not be compared because the motivation behind the science is different. Predicting the future and understanding the past has inherent differences. No one would base energy policy based on the big bang theory or how the dinosaurs turned into birds.

It's too expensive there. They pick cheaper commercial space. They would have to convert them back when the economy bounces back and the rent goes up.
