The government?! "The right to work" is the only thing they got. Oh well. Its your life.. Not mine. And by the way, Anti-Trust laws and Glass-Steagle that protect you are gone. There is no protection for anything they want to do to you. Good luck.
Anti-Trust law (Crippled so much that it's the same thing as being dead.) I have no idea where you got that Anti-Trust has any power left. The Glass-Steagle law is dead. Labour Monopolies are all but gone. Unions are down to 8% from 10%. When Unions were doing ok; even if you weren't in a Union, you still indirectly profited from Unions paying workers more because they had to compete with the Union pay. But it all gone. "The right to work" (for less) will be implemented on you and you will feel the financial heat of trying to keep up with payments. Now we have Corporate Monopolies instead.
You took the bait Now it's too late. The right to work State is coming for you! (The right to work - for less!) And your financial life will become a mess.
Ford was smart. He didn't have Unions in the beginning but he did what Unions did.. Give a fair day's wages!! Ford knew that the cars were so expensive there would be no market to sell the cars. So he raised their level of pay for the workers to be able to buy the cars they made. Prosperity grew..
Be careful what you take in your mind. They are tying to convince you that Unions are the enemy and Unions must go. You took part of the bait. I'm glad you were lucky and had your grandfather to talk to you. You have no idea of how hard Washington and Corporations want to kill unions. That way you will have absolutely no defence against what they pay you, treat you, or anything they want to do to you.
For instance: Take having "The right to work.in your State. The true statement is "The right to work for less pay". People find out about it later..much too late. What you said about Unions in the 70's is true. They got too greedy and made a lot of idiot mistakes. (So do politicians to this day). I think Unions realized their mistakes and have changed for the better. But today you can be part of a Union and not pay dues! This is their way of crippling Unions.
The United States Post Office is one of the biggest Unions to exist. Why do you think they wanted them to pay retirement benefits 75 years into the future?? They want to kill the post office and it's Union. They are also under the illusion that privatizing the post office will bring a profit to them. It will in the city, but be a huge loss in the rural areas.
UnknownSoldier you have a valid point. Very few solutions ended up to be simple, straight forward, and without consequences. While this process holds great promise, it pays to proceed with caution.
I see a lot of apathy for Unions. Very sad. They gave you: Weekends off, eight hour work day, Holidays off. And a safer workplace. People died in the fight to start unions for you. If you like working 60 hours a week on a regular basis; keep on disliking unions.. Source: https://www.thoughtco.com/1886...
You volunteer your services for free, and get a slap in the face in return. Well, if they don't want to pay, maybe you can get a direct job with your new experience at some other place that appreciates you?
Great Idea. But even carbon dioxide is used on this planet (regulates temperature). If you go into chemistry you will see that it links substances such as hydrocarbons. If we play our cards right, one day we will be fighting over carbon dioxide to make fuel.-- Graphene would never exist. Neither would steel. It holds up trees and much more.
You said scary and evil. Point taken.. While it does promise corrections in genetic defects.. Who's hands is it going to be in?? The Good? or The Bad? Its a subject with lot to think about..

Just asking..
Well said!! And well thought out!
Instead of using people's tax dollars for courts, can't they just settle on a shared profit percentage??
With so much data on the Web, anything anybody writes about you would probably get drowned out. No need to get bent out of shape.

Communism did that? Hmm.
They completely destroyed the voting computers and went to paper. Computers are great, but not for voting. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/...
Too bad they can't outsource management and CEO's. Let's see how they like it.
We should go back to paper as well.
This country just takes and figures out new ways to charge and tax you to death.
I was thinking of fiber-optic cable too. You could leave the plates on the wall and be updated at the same time.
Watch out Linux!!!

I think that law changes at bit as it circles the moon and returns to earth.
The lost to outer space part was the part I was concentrating on.
You said you are tired of leftists. Why didn't you include the right in the same sentence?? Doesn't sound like a moderate to me.
Portable, cheap, and you just need light. And you don't have to worry about losing something cheap.
