Johnson: [Noticing Dr. Evil's spaceship on radar] Colonel, you better have a look at this radar.
Colonel: What is it, son?
Johnson: I don't know, sir, but it looks like a giant--
Jet Pilot: Dick.
Dick: Yeah?
Jet Pilot: Take a look out of starboard.
Dick: Oh my God, it looks like a huge--

Baseball Umpire: What is that. It looks just like an enormous--
Chinese Teacher: Wang, pay attention!

Musician: Willie.
Willie Nelson: Yeah?
Musician: What's that?
Willie Nelson: [squints] Well, that looks like a giant--
Colonel: Johnson?!
Johnson: Yes, sir?
Colonel: Get on the horn to British Intelligence and let them know about this.
Hmmm... we must be talking about different things or I just haven't figure it out yet (which is very likely:) )
On Opera you can detach tabs, but they stay inside your browser, so there is there is one browser instance running (one windows) you detach several tabs (handy when in gmail for instance and wanth to detach the chat window, but it stay inside the browser and still part of that one instance of Opera).
Now I can detach a tab in Chrome, but it shows up down in the Windows toolbar as a second tab as well, and if I do Ctrl-Alt-Del it is just a 2nd instance of Chrome running ( or 3rd or 4th etc etc). If you use the feature in Opera it can be kinda cool. But again I may be missing it Chrome. But that is the advantage at least of how Chrome is doing each URL inside the Tabs though, which is cool.
Just downloaded it, noticed the did the tabs correctly at least. Like Opera, each tab has it's 'own' url bar. Unlike IE and Firefox where all the tabs share one URL at the top and the address just switches each time you choose a tab. Though I'm not sure of the utility of it yet in Chrome as the reason for this in Opera is that each tab can be 'detached' and keeps it URL, but I don't see function in Chrome yet, but still exploring.
Let's just change a few things around. Ford makes cars and the operating software for the cars computer and doesn't allow that software to be used on other makes of cars
Yeah, but Ford isn't putting there OS in a nice white "Box" with a pretty silver logo on it and selling for $129 in a 1,000 Best Buy stores across the country either. If they were, well, I might buy it and install it in my Chevy.;)
But Apple has set that price point with the restriction of "must be run on Apple-branded hardware". Who's to say the price wouldn't be $478 for a non-Apple-hardware license? Think of it as an "upgrade price" for people who already bought something else from the manufacturer.
Serious question though as I've never seen the box...
If I go to purchase OSX, on the outside of the box, does it say "Upgrade" on it somewhere or "must be run on Apple-branded hardware" on it somewhere?
If it only says that inside the box or inside the box after you purchase it or electronically in the EULA then I am against Apple on this.
If it's not labled on the outside clearly, think about his. What if Microsoft didn't lable it's "Upgrades" of XP? You built a new PC with no OS on it. You go an pick up a box that says "Windows XP". Now this box is meant as an "Upgrade" from previous version of Windows (like 98) and it won't install. Box wasn't labled upgraded and your pissed. Take it back to BestBuy and guess what you can't return open software! Now you just lost $99! But, hye, you can buy a different box that is the full version!
If they don't lable it on the box it's not fair for the consumer, but again I don't know about OSX which is why I'm asking.
>>>I never realized the sheer amount of compression that is going on between the raw footage and getting it into a DVD.
Yeah, but you have to figure the first compression is going from a 40 FOOT screen to a 40 INCH screen. Like they said above IMAX fames can be 18,000 x 12,000 or something... a little pointless even on a pretty highend monitor/tv.
I don't mean the technology so much, but if you watch the video, I think it is obvious the technology works.
Are they really using "WEBCAMS" though? I mean look past the game and look at the images of THEM. They show full frame full motion video of themselves in the background playing in realtime. I've never used a webcam that looks ANTYHING like that.
So I think that little webcam ontop of the screen is just for looks, but the technology is coming I guess.
I have to say after buying this cable for $499 + $29.99 shipping.
Let me say, first off, if you buy this cable like I did, always make sure to buy the "Extended Service Plan". Trust me on an investment like this. You never know when the metal inside that cable will just wear out and need to be replaced. Always buy Service Plans on your cables.
Ok as for the quality. Well I have to be hones, I really couldn't hear any differnce in the 0's that came throught the cable, but trust me when I tell you about the 1's... On my, the 1's... well, it's just a WHOLE new experince in sound. So really it's probably only worth about $250.
But if you're like me and you prefer 1's over those useless 0's anyway, then this cable is a great bargin!
>> Allow Google to store your ePHI is no different than asking a friend to hold onto your paper medical records.
I keep a list of my wifes allergies and medications in my wallet in case of an emergency. Yeah on a piece of paper in my wallet. So having them available online is just convienent. So I guess someone could steal my wallet too.
Also, as if a gave a crap who knows my medical history. You people have 12 deadbolts on your doors too? Paraniod much???
I've seen these threads for ever about "Comcast" throttling P2P downloads and people like the poster above saying they slow all P2P to 30K/s and forever I've guess I've just sort of laughed these news stories off and thought these posters more of crazies.
Where do you people live that you have Comcast and your P2P is only 30K/s?? What P2P client are you using?
I mean, I won't say what I'm downloading, but I've had Comcast for a while and have been downloading torrents for, well I guess it's been "years" now and I get 1/2 megabyte a second on most torrents that have a good amount of seeds. I mostly even just use the built in client in Opera (lastest beta) as it's just easier. I have no loyalty to Comcast for sure, but I have to say WTF when I read this stuff. My friends and I guess have it good here in Oregon.:)
I use Windows 98. Gibibytes didn't even exist until after the year 2000. So I am granfathered in. The HD manufactures screwed me!! I didn't even know about Gigbytes until just now! Where's my lawyer!!
>>Kilo in computer terms has always meant the closest approximation available in powers of 2, because digital things can only have 2 states - on or off. If memory chip producers can get it exactly right - to the bit, how come hard disk manufacturers get a free ride?
They could do one of two things. Make it so the HD actually make the HD a little bit bigger and make it base2 size like ram (since that is how computers store data GOD FORBID) OR they could put the ACTUAL size that we are going to SEE.
My DATA is binary. When my I have a 4GB file on my HD it is not 4 billion BYTES!!!!!! I can't fit 100 4GB files on a 400GB drive because they are measuring base10!! It's not right.
>> A gigabyte is exactly one billion bites, hence the name "Giga". How can you win a case centered around a claim that is so obviously false?
Simple question then. Why don' they lable HD's in the "ONLY" way they can be read by a computer then. i.e. binary?? GB vs. Gibi, fine. Computers can't read Gigabytes then. So why the hell would they label it a size it can't understand?? Can you explain?
Sure I could use my own "special" ruler that shows it's 8", but once I stick it in I'm going to get the same complaints the HD manufactures are starting to get now and everyone will know the real size in a matter of seconds. But hey, by then it will already be in, that's all the HD companies care about, right???
All that matters is the real size and that is what shows up in the OS (all OSes since the beging of time) and how much "binary" data I can put in it. ( I don't know if any deciaml data out there )
Yep, I must be an idiot. I must've reading fake news all these years where people ARE arrested, computers confiscated, homes invaded and libraries of "backup" DVDs confiscated by the police.

You spent way, WAY too much time HTMLizing your post. :'(
No, I have a computer from the 'future' First you search google, then you "View source", copy, and paste.
Is a Google satellite evil or not evil? Discuss.

There's more to it than that. You start at 1, and increment every New Year.
But wouldn't that make the Chinese girls even younger?
Chinese vs US ages if they started counting at one at birth instead of Zero:
Chinese Years - 01 02 03 04 05 06 07 08 09 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17
Regular Years - 00 01 02 03 04 05 06 07 08 09 10 11 12 13 14 15 16
So going by that chart if I look up a Chinese girl that is 14 she would only be 13 in U.S. years!

~1% desktop market share=not news.
That pretty much covers it.
Yeah, if they can't figure out how to start with at least 50% market share then don't bother trying at all!!
Long live IE!!
"If you want to simply skip right ahead, it's about 4:20 in."
Did somebody say 4:20?? Hmmm... Maybe you have to be high before you can see finally see the game. It's all an hallucination I tell you!!
I keep a list of mine and my wifes allergies and medications on a PIECE OF WHITE PAPER in my WALLET!!!
Oh my god!!
And, No I don't have a built in 100,000volt security system around my ass incase sometries to steal it.
