    What candidates hope to get out of Iowa, mainly, seems to be being able to say they won an election, or did way better than expected (e.g. Santorum), essentially in the hopes that it will persuade...

    The rule is that you have to prove your damages to be awarded them. Unless they can prove that they've been damaged, I see absolutely no reason why they should be given a penny that other industries wouldn't get under similar circumstances.

    That wouldn't be hard at all. Remember, "prove" in civil cases is preponderance of the evidence, not beyond a reasonable doubt. If you're using the software without paying for it, you'd have to be pretty good at showing that you wouldn't be able to pay for it to tilt the case back in your favor.

    Before it just meant "the Internet", this is what "cloud computing" meant. I assume the analogy was supposed to be that you have a vast number of small, basically identical water droplets that together form something different than just a giant pile of water.

    No, the defense against libel would be to have it proven that what she wrote was untrue.

    Except that would frequently require proving a negative. If I publicly state that you murdered a young child last year, how is it at all reasonable to require that you prove that you didn't?

    You only need one of the items in the list, though. So as long as you are employed by Fox News, CNN, or MSNBC, you don't need to worry about silly things like journalistic standards.

    Even your example of libel is pretty borderline. Usually, it has to be something that is a clear statement of fact. An ordinary person would not think that you are genuinely accusing him of criminal terrorist acts, or that "lied, cheated, and stole" is meant to be a specific accusation. A better example of libel would be "Obama robbed my grandfather's grocery store in 1997." That's a definitive statement of fact (a specific criminal act, in particular) that either is or is not true.

    If that's true, why can I buy 100,000 battery cradles, camera add ons, cases, credit card readers, sushi makers and personal massager extensions for my iphone but there are barely any Android specific accessories besides a few cases and some carrier marketed dash/desk mounts.

    Because iPhone users have more disposable income?

    I knew a few 'D' Players who were treated like they were some sort of bad ass ninjas, just because nobody in charge had any clue how to evaluate them or their work... and the few people who did realize it were less visible and thus got totally ignored.

    If there's been any sort of pattern to the changes found recently, I'd be curious to read the layman's explanation of it. Last I had read, a large group of neutrinos tended to eventually become 1/3 of each kind, no matter what kind they started out as. That was several years ago, though. I haven't read about any mechanism or reason for the changing, but I'm sure I'm pretty far behind.
