I was thinking along the lines of a second Generation PS3; A Bigger hard drive, more connections, more accessories, more games, and fully refined and developed technology to take advantage of what is incorporated into the system. Not to mention manufacturing of scale to bring down the total costs of the ps3. Keeping the old cash cow profitable ps2 around was genius of them. Something that can't be said for xbox v1 which had costs that didn't come down due to the fact that nvidia and intel didn't want to lose any profits in that area and kept the costs associated with those market items quite high. I think that Microsoft could have continued thier success with the V1 had they continued its manufacture. It was fairly difficult to get last holiday and still is. Nintendo: If the wii continues to dominate through the end of 2007 then with the infusion of cash on hand they will(hopefully) use to bring in new ideas and talent to keep making consoles and bringing in games dedicated to thier target market.

I agree with your thinking. However, the wii has been and will continue to pretty much dominate group situations. That is until xbox and playstation get thier act together and make something similar. Though I totally see Sony fixing up the playstation by late 2008 to sell well and make money. In fact its benefitial for them to sell less now. Sure they won't get the developers right away. Mostly people will continue buying the hotly sold ps2 and games for that. Then slowly as the ps3 gains traction along with cost reductions in manufacturing and increasing tech availible for the ps3 you'll see the ps3 come back in 2008 as a dominating system. In fact, I think it makes long term sense for it to work out that way. Sony loses less money, and ends up with a 2 generation system that sells faster at a profit. I'd like to see Sega pull up the virtual reality tech that they were working on 10 years ago. Add periphial vision to it and sell it as an accessory to one of the next gen systems.

I'd also love to be able to play my Rally games on the 360. Rallisport, Colin Mcrae, etc. There was a number of great driving games out on the xbox that I loved and would love to see brought to the 360 which would fufill my reason enough to buy one.

I'm currently happy with the older HP printers which do not have counters on thier toner cartridges and drums that limit the number of pages the printer can print rather than the actual supplies and life being the limiting factor.

But still its definatly cheaper than the next inkjet which for 50 bucks would be lucky to chirp out more than 150 of what you describe. Even with refills nowdays fetching less. high quality refill ink is only cheap if you are using it in a continuous ink system. The only ones that get those are epson printers. Beyond that eh. Stick to the laser you got. If you ever go ink for anything but photos you'll regret it.

I have to call this out for inaccurate information.
Get a calculator and check HP cartridge yields again which is 12000 pages per cartridge at a price of 315 a piece if bought seperately and from CDW they sell it bundle deal for 250 a piece which would drp your total costs by at least 2 cents a sheet. Printers that high in price are far cheaper to print with. An inkjet generally runs around 26-40 cents a sheet for color printing even using refills. That HP 5550 costs around 2.6 to 9 cents a sheet at full retail pricing. There is a reason to spend more money for the high end color laser printers. Its because they are just simply cheaper to print with.

This is so general in its use as a salesperson I think I'd just work there for a while till I got a new job elsewhere in the company or otherwise. Because this is the worst crap I've ever seen. Its only bulletpoints of a complicated strategy. Who do you think is the one making the decisions to switch to linux within a shop or otherwise? I'll bet you 2 to 1 odds that its someone with a lot of technical knowledge thats the primary key decision maker in this. If I were to give this as a brochure to an IT guy. I'd get one of two responses. Laughter, or sympathy and a long detailed explaination of all the little real reasons that he's choosing linux over Microsoft and hopefully a job offer as I'd be out of a job real quick with resources like this crap. Seriously, if Microsoft wants to write a training brochure of fighting against the linux takeover. They need to find someone who has very detailed experiences with both platforms and thier vulnerabilities and who can explain the differences siding with windows on paper in a detail thats easily understandable by IT guys. Not, Ma and pop shops. Its actually very sad how little Microsoft people know the products thier company sells nowdays. I'll bet 5 10 of them can't do a pivot table in excel. I'll bet it's even worse among the Mosaic Microsoft field representative idiots they hire nowdays. I remember when those guys were damn good and could easily sell me a product that fit my needs exactly and tell me how to use a new feature that wasn't in the previous version. I only kind of get that from the people who actually work on or with the product nowdays.
