So what happens when we the populace start casually shooting the same thing back at them. Or, even worse, at each other. Could you imagine a group of teenagers roaming around town with one of these? Or sitting on a roof with a scope? Don't expect this tech in the hands of police anytime soon.(God I hope not) Because if it gets there it'll be on the street in a matter of days/weeks after that. No one will be safe. It doesn't sound like good crowd control management because its effective at up 1/2 a mile a way. It sounds like something thats easily effective at causing riots, mobs, and panic within a crowd. Now, if it were limted as a short range weapon then it would be useful. Because the only way a non lethal weapon really works on crowds is when it's user is easily seen and close enough to give commands.

It increases sales among games overall by upwards of 30 percent. I proved this in several Circuit City stores, a Gamestop, 3 Targets, and at least 2 Walmarts I have the pictures to prove it. I could have patented it. But I decided to just let it go open in order to increase game sales. Which have done wonders for my stock portfolio. :)

Alas, any store can now use it. Its been out on the market for over a year on its own( I think 3 years now) incremental sales increases based on placement of products is my specialty. If you are a manager, try it out in your game section.

  9. Re:world of hurt? on Is Apple Doing All It Can to Beat Vista? · · Score: 1

    Here is the thing.

    A) you built your own PC and you aren't exactly the market that most PC makers shoot for.

    B) Compare the difference of buying say an HP and a powermac. Yes, you'd likely spend more on the Mac. But if you open up the cases of the two systems. In the mac you'd find a higher quality system underneath. Better cooling, higher quality Ram, better components and so on. There is an overall prevailing reason that most macs rarely have hardware problems. Heck, ask your local Best buy that sells Apple hardware. Ask the geeksquad how often the Macs actualy do come back for service in comparison to say an HP. It's well known that desktops actually fail less than laptops do.

    C) If I look around at my local college like San Jose State I'll find more PC than I do Apple among the Business students. But if I go over to the Arts, international studies, communications , and science sections of the campus the trend reverses. I'm not totally sure why!

It's definatly something to note in my observations that students who have a Mac laptop actually take down more notes than those with a PC do.

Oddly enough, the number one tool that students could use for notes. Microsoft's own Onenote 2007 has actually been on backorder for 12 months. No college bookstore can keep it in stock for more than a couple of days.

Then the time to sell was around the 60(hasn't really gone past that since) a share which I sold it at. Then of course, bought Apple at 120 and laughing all the way to the bank as it continues it's climb to 200 which I totally expect by the end of the year Based on the existing options and calls already purchased out there. I don't see Nintendo really getting past the price of say 73 by the end of the year from its current 58. Long term though, I could see it getting to 93 by this time next year in anticipation of things coming out. Microsoft likely won't hit the numbers till service pack 1 hits the shelf and they bring some new people into thier marketing department (Channel marketing)Which needs vast improvements.

If you want to market your product you need to make the whole organization from the field reps to the CEO, feel an internal respect for the product you are selling. Before I left I most certainly didn't feel that. Heck, the consistent cracks about Vista and other Microsoft related products was rather endless. Not to mention a tidelike flow of people leaving for jobs at other companies like Apple, Google, Netflix, ect. It's like the people in charge are really smart but have no idea of how to market a product. They need to go back to the basics again, rebuild thier marketing program. Don't use it to push defective products like Vista for the corporate suites ambitions show and glitz. Use it to push products within the Microsoft unbrella that currently work well. Also, use it to push for charities that would connect it to the very consumers that wouldn't otherwise buy the product.

It's a sad day in age when you can't even where a shirt that says Windows Vista in public without getting a "Vista sucks" comment. Hell, the people in IT at my new company nearly shot me for wearing that shirt one day. Microsoft's next release better be, AMAZING!!! Heck, look at Xbox V1 when it dropped to 149. It sold like crazy, so well in fact that it was out of stock in the US for over 3 months. I think the same could be easily achieved with the 360 in coming holiday. I didn't expect any price drops until after the Halo version. Its nice that its here though. But, the price drop I think isn't enough that it will influence buyers enough to buy more. I think the only reason the price drop is so modest is that Microsoft didn't want to spark a price war with Nintendo whom could easily sell thier Wii for 200 a piece and still make significant money.

The only chance Microsoft has right now is to get those amazing games out this year before nintendo does it better. I almost considered getting an Elite Sku for my home system which is setup with pure HDMI hookups. Even more so when I worked with them. But at the time the failure rates I saw scared me greatly.
