If I am not mistaken, the pressure difference your body (14 lb/sqr inch) and space (~0) would cause you to explode almost instantly.
You are mistaken, 14 lbs/sqr inch really isn't that much pressure when you think about it. You will not explode in vacuum, and you could probably last around 30 seconds or so in a vacuum.
Evict the Russians if they are not willing or able to pay,
Unfortunately, it's the Russians that provide the Soyuz spacecraft (the only means for escape if soemthing goes wrong) and the unmanned Progress spacecraft. The ISS could not operate without either of these (especially the Soyuz).
I think McCoy was a good Doctor. But he had horrible writing.
There was a time during the McCoy era when I thought the writing was getting pretty good.
I don't remember if was in the beginning, middle, or end of his run.
You're right, I did lose a million dollars last year. I expect to lose a million dollars this year. I expect to lose a million dollars *next* year. You know, Mr. Thatcher, at the rate of a million dollars a year, I'll have to close this place in... 60 years.

The posting refers to Taiwan, not mainland China. Taiwan, also known as the "Republic of China", is not the same country as China, also known as the "People's Republic of China". The former is a peaceful democracy, the latter is a belligerent, brutal totalitarian regime.
To be fair, only recently could Taiwan call itself a democracy. For much of its history, Taiwan was not very democratic at all.
Unmanned infrastructure work in LEO might be the better way to go, as long as we keep in mind future manned expeditions.
That's the problem - right now the space station is an end unto itself, essentially rehashing the past stuff that's already been over the past 30 years. And with the cutbacks, that's not likely to change.

"You can call a mob boss, I don't really care. As long as I don't get caught, you don't have to love me or like what I do for a living."
We could learn a couple things from the Russians' effective 'big dumb booster' approach.
Of course we had a really good "big dumb booster" and abandoned it. Anyone remember the

Either scrap the manned program and put the money into unmanned exploration. Or keep the manned
program, but do something other than dinking around in low earth orbit.
I was thinking of doing something like this with my N-scale trains.
If I had the money, I'd like to do a Gomez Addams train layout in N.
Yes
and if so, who was paying it?A large aerospace company
I just spent 4 months working on CFD software that will be freely available
(i.e., do you asphyxiate before you freeze to death?).
Considering that vacuum acts like an insulator, you'll long be dead before you freeze to death.

... and an afternoon off to watch it.
But first I'll need to tell the NY Times my gender, age, zip code, income, and occupation
Ummm, there's nothing stopping you from providing the NY Times false information. It's not like they're going to check.
RTFA! If you read the article, you'd know that he doesn't do any of those adverts.
And we should believe everything he says?
What about the new national security solution by Pres. Bush...
Unfortunately, unless the asteroid has ties to Al Qaeda or Saddam Hussein, Bush won't be interested.
Ooooh, a spelling flame from an anonymous coward - how original.
The X-ray pulse then hits krypton atoms, knocking out some of their electrons.
Definately NOT a job for Superman!

Anyway, Tom Baker was almost everyone's favourite, and Sylvester McCoy was the worst... Stupid question mark wearing mumble mumble...
I alway thought Colin Baker was the worst. I rather liked Sylvester McCoy.
FWIW, I started watching Dr. Who back in the John Pertwee days.
Weight might not be a big issue once you are actually in space, however, it is a huge issue when it comes to getting there.
And once you're in orbit weight doesn't matter, but mass still does.
