I am a proud IE7 user (and was a proud IE6 user as well even when every slashdotter was insulting the ones like me). I like IE7 and prefer it above Firefox and Opera, but there are 2 things that bother me:
1.IE6 was an oasis for those like me that HATED tabbed browsing. Tabbed browsing existed since the 90s (and it was not Firefox , nor Opera the creators). But it was when the FF zealots overhyped this feature where any other browser tried to emulate this abomination. I understand that some users like it, but why does MS needs to follow this feature as well? Do you really think that every user likes this and is there some usability test that supports the theory that users actually like this feature more and don'r find it confusing?
2.The office team is legendary for the amount of usability test they do. The ribbon was a brilliant solution for the office overcrowded palette and was heavily based on usability tests. I am a keyboard user so the IE7 interface does not matter for me so much, but I can see that the new interface is a big problem for mouse users. Having some buttons here and others there is a big no-no for user interface design. In my family there are some people that are not too happy with the UI changes. Have you done some usability tests for the placement of the interface controls? Is this really the ultimate IE interface? Are you aware that there is a serious critisism of the new interface (real criticism, not usual slash-dot nonsense) about it?
Thatk you for a great product. Many people use it because they really like it. Only don't say that in the tiny slashdot crystal world.
Please people, you need to bash MS for this! I need it's MS and they cannot do well, can they? If you cannot find any wrong here, FOR GOD'D SAKE, INVENT SOMETHING, but BASH, BASHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH... AGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
reading the fucking manual nwebie?
If you are installing a server as a member of a domain, it will use the domain administrator account because the LOCAL administrator is anyway DISABLED, so there is no need to PROMPT you for a password that already exists. Gee, you don't even deserve to be in this site. Or maybe 98% of this site's users are like you?
Is it worth reading/. anymore? When Blabbermouth now being "clean", the only one cancer left in the Internet is Slashdot. Isn't it time already to cure it as well of the crap of the humanuty that uses to be here?
The best office suite will be competing with other free options. Competition is always good, even in the "freeware" market. So Open Office, Google, etc MUST now get good or die. It's life and slashdot like competion, doesn't we?

The same that is wrong with Linux. You can have /. full of fan boys but if it doesn't delivers, it just is ignored by those who have a life.

What the hell is Linux. How do you eat that?
