One thing's for sure; I'll never use the built-in Windows FTP client again
And this is despite the fact that it happened only once and you haven't been able to reproduce it (the bug)? I think it is rather harsh isn't it? Even if it is windows we are talking about:)
Well the way I read it is that by stopping the construction of the tower he displayed the futility of the idea to defy him. (Sort of like Bill Gates:) )
And who gets to supply the software to run that totally AI controlled vehicle? It would take some guts to fly on something with MS windows FC edition preinstalled.
"Americans, on the other hand, barely spend 8% -- and it keeps going down thanks to genetic engineering"
Man I never guessed Americans were being genetically engineered to eat less. That would really help their obesity problem though..
Just imagine the psychiatric consulting costs that companies will have to bear when the workers don't get their daily dosage of BSOD !!!!
On a more serious note though I think a distro like ubuntu desktop is ideal for a secretary or other office worker whose main tasks involve e-mailing, word processing and web browsing.
"That's the whole point, Diebold: you shouldn't have to "follow proper procedures." The machines should make it impossible to do so, just like I punch a ballot, place it in a box, which is locked and sealed, and taken by police to the counting facility, etc. The current system requires a fair amount of work to interfere with; the Diebold machines seem to require a fair amount of work to NOT interfere with!"
Totally agree. The best machines are those that not work the fastest etc.. but those that are the most fool proof. You cannot expect everybody to be a computer guru. (I hope that'll never happen because then I'll be out of a job)

http://fbi.gov/ works for me. Looks like big brother is reading slashdot. BTW gov.ca is also opening no problemo.
Well considering that their aim is to attract windows users having an occasional BSoD might just work. ;)
Er.. shouldn't it be Shastra (sanskrit for education, knowledge)? At least the good doctor should know what she is specializing in ;-)

The point is not in the height of the tower. It's the symbolism that man was defying God and trying to get "there" by his own means.
I think the original poster ment American English! :)
Whew!! That means Tokyo is safe. (Last time I checked it was located on an Island)

So if I say "Jews are smart" or Japanese are highly disciplined" am I a racist?
