    In some areas (California), 1 kWh contributed during peak hours = > 1 kWh they can withdraw during off-peak hours. But that's pretty generous; most power companies don't even like 1 : 1.

    It's even better than that. I have Net Metering with Time Of Use (TOU) rates, so the ratio is closer to 4:1.

    Someone crashes his bike into a cement barrier and hits his head, smashing the helmet and rendering him paralyzed. Family files multiple lawsuits against multiple companies including the maker of this device built into the guy's helmet because it "distracted him", or because pieces of it pierced his skull. It's just a matter of time. I hope Skully has factored this into the price.

    I see comments like this all the time, but in my own personal experience paypal protected me as a seller from a fraudulent buyer who tried to steal several hundred dollars. Although the process was not quick, in the end Paypal discovered the truth, and I'll continue to use and recommend the service.

    The V-22 Osprey performs a similar role for the Navy/Marine Corps. Why develop a new platform that will cost billions of dollars and many years of research and testing? The V-22 can be adapted to this new role much faster and for a lot less.

    Actually this is possible. From wikipedia:

    Ammonia cannot be easily or efficiently used in existing Otto cycle engines because of its very low octane rating, although with only minor modifications to carburetors/injectors and a drastic reduction in compression ratio, which would require new pistons, a gasoline engine could be made to work exclusively with ammonia, at a low fraction of its power output before conversion and much higher fuel consumption

    Your post is somewhat deceptive since the MPG figure you quote does not include the cost of electricity. It is not physically possible to get ~600 miles from a gallon of gas in a non-experimental car.

    I leased panels for my house to charge my all-electric car. Since I paid for the 20 year lease in advance, my power costs about 10 cents/kwh over the 20 year period. I don't know where you live but in my area this is about half the current average cost of electricity, and the price per kwh is sure to increase over the next 20 years (for everyone else). Since the system is grid-tied I don't need a battery for the house. As an added bonus I never have to wait in gas lines. I'm actually saving money by not buying any gas.

    What if you want to access those files when you are away from home? Good luck. Even if you setup remote access, typically ISP upload speeds prevent reasonable access to large files remotely.

    Prisoners should be treated humanely. I get that. What I would like to know is how many prisoners who were released after being confined in solitary for a long period of time are repeat offenders. I suspect that, given the horrible conditions of solitary, most of them would do anything to avoid going back to prison. If that is true, then it really is an effective rehabilitation technique, and ultimately reduces crime.

    Actually yes, solar can be the whole solution. In my case I generated 538kwh in the past 30 days with 16 - 250w panels, in the dead of winter. My all-electric car uses about 300kwh per month. In the summer I generate far more power than I need, and this compensates for extra power I use in the winter.

    A magnitude 7.1 earthquake struck the PI a few weeks ago which cause widespread damage to buildings and infrastructure. Bridges collapsed and many roads are still impassible. The earthquake and hundreds of strong aftershocks serve to intensify the effects of this storm.

    The TFV does NOT show the incident pilot flying a helicopter FPV a few feet from his face. Note at the end of the video he reaches up to turn off the camera almost immediately after landing. Large helicopters take up to a minute for the rotor to spin down. Also the heli that killed him had a rotor span of 600 mm, so he wouldn't have been able to reach the camera. In this video he was flying a multi-copter, which use much smaller propeller blades that stop almost immediately.

    What you said is true, but what is the average cost per watt over the expected life of the plant? That is a better gauge of value and efficiency.

    With this new plan the government limits how much it will pay for procedures, which directly addresses the problem of healthcare costs. Providers must reduce costs across the board to compete.
