How? Out here in oklahoma at home I have one choice for electric and water. In town you have one choice for electric, water and gas. That is if you live in an area of the city that the city allowed to have natural gas lines run.

I've heard the city is pretty picky about the permitting anymore something about the natural gas competing with their electric for heating in the winter.

But how would that work I don't really have anything here I could compare it to?

Yes the backhaul seems to be pretty high cost here the city only has 3Gbps backhaul for the whole town but they only offer up to 40Mbps for residents.
The equipment they were installing back in 2004 could do 600Mbps but they have never been able to afford enough backhaul to get near that.
It's kind of like owning a jet but only being able to afford enough fuel to taxi around the runway.

Well yeah most people are fine with a 50Mbps connection for one person you can do pretty much anything you want with that speed.
Out where I live the local WISPs have been very sucessful the first one stopped expanding a few years ago as they got as big as the owners could handle a few months ago it merged with a regional chain ISP to compete with the city owned WISP that went into competition with them.
Now the chain offers 50Mbps service and the city only offers 10Mbps. But the city is expanding into another three neighboring towns that currently have no ISP or WISP.

You can't get everyone but at least 3/4 of the houses near one have a little antenna from one of the two WISPs I mentioned. There are no wired options out where I live.

Standard microwave ovens operate in the 2.4GHz frequency tho (roughly about wifi channel 9) 5GHz is far enough away that it shouldn't receive any significant interference.
Of course if the microwave has decent shielding it won't bother a 2.4GHz network either.

  13. Super wifi doesn't sound like a very technical term.
    TFA doesn't mention any speeds.
The two companies listed don't seem to be very well priced for what you get.
I mean I could get 50/5Mbps unlimited wireless here for $100/mo if I didn't live next to a hill and that's just with the current gen ubnt wireless equipment.

I think LTE will outrun this tech at it's current pace.

The lack of flash support has probably been the biggest pita of using an ipad. IIRC android supported it for a time but later dropped support so if I want flash on the go I have to go with a windows tablet.

IMHO windows tablets wouldn't be that bad but their on screen keyboard support is terrible.

With ios and android the osk is fully automatic whenever you need it it just pops up but windows you have to bring it up manually a lot of the time.

Though I suppose I could get an actual keyboard with a windows tablet since they have wired ones they ought to work pretty decent.
