I see it like the mobile optimised versions of websites. When they make something for mobile it's way butchered and has way less functionality than the full site.
While device manufacturers and mobile browser programmers are going in the opposite direction entirely (with exception of plugin support like flash and java) trying to make their browsers work with the desktop version of websites and most of the time/. included the desktop version works way better on mobile than the "mobile" version does.
What will likely happen is your friends will see a different version of the movie you saw so both of you will be out of the loop "what did you think of the scene were they flew the car into the bank?" and you get to say something like "that wasn't a bank it was a dry cleaner you were looking at it from the wrong angle"
I already have this problem with the multiple editions of movies
Lets see you've got the 2017 1989 remastered edition, the 1989 directors edition, the 2014 25th anniversary edition with 15 minutes of never before scene content, the 1989 unrated edition, the 1990 the cast wanted to have another edition edition, the 1989 theatrical edition, the 1992 US release (25 minutes shorter) and the 2007 smoky bacon edition.
This would just be a new edition that's exclusive to netflix and then exclusive to netflix users watching on mobile devices.
Again if we are given the ability to chose which version to watch i'd be fine with it but what will likely happen is you will get to watch the version netflix wants you to or not watch it at all like we have now.
Not yet Netflix basic features are still included with the sub. If it were owned by EA the netflix app would be $2.99 and if you want to watch HD on mobile that would be an extra $10 "HD VIDEO DLC" in addition to the monthly subscription fee.
I hate this idea but at the same time it would be really nice if you could pick which edition of the movie you wanted to watch like the 1989 version or the 2017 remastered 1989 version or just between the rated and unrated versions.
That and things like commentary are some of the only features i'm still looking for with netflix.
I like watching really good movies a second time with the commentary on but I won't mess with discs and the pre-roll ads anymore for the privilege.
Oh and keep like the last 1-10 minutes or so in buffer so I can go back without it having to rebuffer that would be great too.
Not really I still think vista was a worthless POS. XP had a lot of updates that significantly improved it and added features. Vista at launch was slow as hell because microsoft didn't hike the minimum requirements enough for it to run decent this was never fixed they jumped to windows 7 and promptly gave up on trying to fix it. IME windows 7 actually runs faster than Vista on the same hardware.
I noticed a lot of vendors actually dropped support for Vista long before they dropped support for XP I think that says something about how bad vista was considering the age difference between the two. I still hate they dropped IP over firewire 400Mbps back when ethernet only did 100Mbps. Everythings usb3 now tho but you can't run an IP connection over that (well i've never found a way to do it in windows anyway no usb>ethernet>usb is ridiculously stupid)
NINAB newer is not always better. One of the only cases i've seen where newer is often better is on the smart tv updates. A lot of them are very slow and unresponsive when they ship and they get performance updates later. Although on those you're lucky if you get any updates at all most updates are just to let you know features XYZ have been removed and will no longer function (while they quit working 6 months before) then you have a nice dedicated button on your remote for an app your tv no longer has.
IME the very last compatible version of an app you can download is more broken than the next to last version (but you can't download that one) that version is usually why support was dropped for your OS version but the dev's either CBA or couldn't make that other version the last compatible one instead.
Your're going to change my UI because you feel like it and make me have to relearn how to do everything just because.
App *app name here* works great now but after updating erases all saved files and cuts off the name's of new files.
No old versions are available online in case the new version does not work as expected.
Backups (if you include restoring the same app version) are only practical with home made scripts or done by hand no other functional recovery options exist (at least not for iphone)
Is that because of the higher efficiency of heat pump systems vs burning fuel directly? If so can you push ground source heat pumps far enough to do the same?
Throttle applies only to hotspot and tethering use after 10GB. In which case it's throttled to 600kbps calling it 3G speeds is an insult to 3G my cellphone tops out on EVDO rev A and it can do 1.55Mbps.
The distinction between throttling and deprioritization is very important.
With deprio your speeds will be relatively slower if your are in a congested area.
With throttle your totally fked for the rest of the month no matter what.
Can confirm was running ipad 2 with 6.1.3 now running ipad 4 with 6.1
I hate the iOS 7 and above UI and it's significantly faster at most tasks than newer models that are up to date. Also in the newer versions the safari JavaScript toggle is in a sub sub menu by itself for no reason. I'll eventually upgrade to an ipad pro 9.7 or a windows tablet I haven't decided yet the lack of flash suppot on the ipad is still a pita but the on screen keyboard integration of windows is crap then again if I go with windows I could have an actual wired keyboard that wouldn't go the "quick brown fox jjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjumped over the lazy dooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooog" Like the current Bluetooth keyboard cases do that and the startup & resync delay make them totally unusable for me.
I live just outside of town. At my house I have coverage by all four carriers yet the only thing I can get via POTS is dialup. Being able to get dsl implies you are much closer to a town that should have cell service than I am.
Tethering is usually limited to 10gb then throttled if offered Tmobile offers unlimited full speed hotspot on phone at an added charge but is otherwise also limited to the same 10GB
I have a tv in the living room that gets used every day and a tv in the bedroom that hasn't been used in several years. It's an old CRT type tv I don't really have any need for it anymore but it's a TV/DVD/VCR/FM radio combo unit and surprisingly all the functions still work (the tv too w/ a converter box) so I haven't been able to convince myself to get rid of it since it all still works....and it happens to have the last known working VHS player in it in the family.
Some of us have jobs.....Maybe we could switch to using walki talkies that would solve some of the problem but create a lot of new ones: extra device, everyone and their dog with a scanner can hear and limited range.
For diagnostics you can listen to all the recordings they have (or at very least the recent ones) using the alexa app. Or online http://alexa.amazon.com/spa/in...
Only records when someone says its wake word or it hears something it thinks sounds similar to its wake word.
For many years archive.org has operated in the background to save pages for the future but now many sites are choosing to opt out.

So why should I update?
Is that because of the higher efficiency of heat pump systems vs burning fuel directly? If so can you push ground source heat pumps far enough to do the same?
Dedicated clock or are you just resyncing more often?
For what computers cost most are surprisingly bad at keeping time.
I'm still looking for a digital light timer that doesn't lose a few minutes every year.

With throttle your totally fked for the rest of the month no matter what.
Then at least nothing of value would be lost.

Hopefully the archive team will get a good mirror of the site.
You do need to disable the 30Minute auto shutoff but thats easy to do from the webmenu at least for the $20/mo option att is selling right now.

Being able to get dsl implies you are much closer to a town that should have cell service than I am.
No at&t, verizon, sprint, t mobile coverage?
Yet you can get DSL thats fked up.
Tethering is usually limited to 10gb then throttled if offered
Tmobile offers unlimited full speed hotspot on phone at an added charge but is otherwise also limited to the same 10GB
Umm... You could already get a stand alone unlimited hotspot for $20/mo thru att.
And no garage parking needed you can buy a house adapter for it.
Though with the new unlimited plan att has out today it appears you can even use a LTE home Internet and phone and still have unlimited.

Tool time!
I haven't so much as thought about halfbakery in years.
Happy to see it's still going.

Since it uses wifi it should be fairly easy to prove such behavior if true.
