So what are we getting to replace it then? I haven't seen any consumer gear that used anything other than 5ghz or 2.4ghz.

  3. How much do you think this will hurt WISPs?
I'm assuming it will work over shorter distances than most WISPs operate over today but this in combination with further densification and extra bands of LTE should make them very competitive.

  4. Seeing at&t offer 500GB on their LTE network for $100 and $10/10GB overage has changed my mind about that.

I'd still prefer unlimited but I could get by with 500GB easily enough.

  5. Re:Practical Usage? on Verizon To Begin 5G User Trials in 11 Markets by Middle of Year (bloomberg.com) · · Score: 1

Well that's actually mostly what they are doing.
LTE is plenty fast enough today and will likely be for quite some time however in areas with high density they currently have to use more smaller cells to give everyone decent speeds lets guess 1Gbps to a tower that would allow (ignoring overhead) 100 people on tower to all use 10Mbps simultaneously.

Considering some towers do about half of that now with carrier aggregation I'd think the new ones would do significantly better.
So assuming they manage to bump it up to 10Gbps that would get them up to 1000 people at 10Mbps or 100 at 100Mbps

That should greatly improve reliability in my opinion.
Also this isn't really supposed to be rolling out until 2020 or so if they pickup anything before then it will be 4G all over again with BSing the standard with marketing terms but not providing nearly what was promised.

As for availability verizon and at&t are available most everywhere now and t-moblie for instance is supposed to be getting way better this year alone. http://bgr.com/2017/02/15/t-mo...

This is like moving back to the cdma days where you had to contact your cellco to switch devices.

Well it's been several years ago I know ID was not required for anyone other than the driver at the time and I don't remember them even asking for that just what we were crossing for.

Let me tell you those border agents have no sense of humor if they ask "is that your daughter?" the correct response is not "my wife says she is".

When before all you had to have to drive across the border was an oklahoma ID (at most we had no further ID with us at the time). For requiring a passport closed seemed an appropriate term maybe I should have used "less open"? I don't really know how to term the difference.

My understanding was after 9/11 a passport was required as a minimum ID for a border crossing and it had never been set back to a state ID being acceptable.

Should have the building loan paid off in a decade or two then we should be able to do things again.

IME it's a little easier and a little harder selling on amazon vs ebay.
On amazon you have to be approved to post something as new. Some item categories you have to be approved to post in any condition it's not just art and stuff I was not allowed to resell a USB transfer cable that I bought on amazon.

On amazon you are required to have a photo with a white background so it blends in with the site but you aren't required to have a photo. On ebay they require a photo but you can take a blurry photo with your 0.5MP digital camera or a stock photo of some random unrelated product and be fine.

I haven't tried sending anything to amazon to let them fulfill an order yet so I don't know how that part works.

The very first item I sold on amazon was returned because their mail forwarding address had expired.
I was able to do a partial refund and return all but the shipping fee since USPS doesn't refund your money if they can't deliver still ended up being shorted about $0.10 due to the estimated shipping being very close to the actual shipping and amazon taking their fee out of it.

As for prices in my experience very small items are usually higher or not available on amazon also lots items are more likely to be found cheaper in lots on ebay than on amazon.

IME ebay is more WYSIWYG since sellers posting images of the actual item is still common where as on amazon you have 20+ sellers sharing a listing and not one has bothered to post a picture of what they are selling or made any remarks about its condition.

If you are going to post any type of food on amazon please put the date on the tin in the listing.

  19. If there is more capacity to begin with there is more speed available when you split it. Think about it you could provide a 10,000 people with 10Mbps service with just one 100Gbps access point!
