iPhone is the shit. Im gonna snag one for sure, however, the only thing that really has me disappointed about it is the use of ATT's crappy old EDGE network. Does anyone know if this limitation is solely software based or hardware based? Eg: will they be able to simply update the firmware for 3G in the future, when ATT feels its ready, or is a 1st Gen iPhone doomed to always take 60 seconds to load the New York Times website when not on Wifi?
What exactly do they mean by 'Unlimited Mobile to Mobile'? Unlimited calls to other ATT Wireless users? Or any wireless user, even on different networks, eg: Sprint?
To be fair, Apple is pretty lax on software DRM. I have been using OSX since 10.0 and I have never been asked to enter a serial number. Windows, on the other hand, I've registered hundreds of times over the years.
Demand for PS3 has been driven very much by the fact that Sony has been promising people all year that they wont be able to get one. Lowered supply, intentional or not, has more than just one effect. contrary to what you believe, and if you cant see that then I suggest you take a psyschology course.
the opposite of genuine demand, ie: the buzz around wii. nintendo didnt have to chop down the amount of launch units to a miniscule portion to get people hyped up about their system, sony did, hence this article and my reply. sony did this same thing with PS2 launch and even with smaller launches like the PS2 network adapter. just a cheap way of creating, what i consider (if its alright with you...) 'fraudulent demand'
...by severely, and intentionally bottlenecking the amount of units available in order to create fraudulent demand. Woo go Sony! Havent you used these tricks enough already?
The Midwest is full of white people. The Government might respond differently.
Thank you for having the only comment on the entire page that actually put my mind to ease.
How about cars that dont get shitty gas mileage? Think thats possible before the turn of the century, GM?
I was just starting to get sick of playing Ocarina of Time with updated story and graphics again...not to say it aint great =)

Trent Reznor has been a Mac user for years.
Agreed. "Artificial Scarcity" is a better term for it. Once again it comes down to semantics here on the /.
