    Exactly - it's reverse net-neutrality.

    I wonder when wired broadband service providers will do that

    AT&T has had an identical service for broadband for a long time. I don't think any content provider signed up for it.

    It is not really a question of testing. Parts of the software were missing or incomplete. You can't test what isn't there.

    The worst part is the government website is totally unnecessary.

    There already exists perfectly good working websites for buying insurance (such as einsurance). All that was required was to add the government subsidy feature.

    Yup. National Security Letters bar everyone involved from even acknowledging they exist. An order issued by a secret court, without any representation for the accused, that restrain free speech. Nothing unconstitutional about that.

    Nope. No court involved, it is issued by a government agency without court oversight.

    AFAIK, this bill would only end the mandate. It would not end subsidies for corn ethanol production. Lots of ethanol would still be used for fuel because with subsidies ethanol is often competitive.

    Why would you put a SSD in a NAS? The type of data put on home NAS' typically do not need very high transfer speeds.

    related story:

    A friend's parents were denied entry into the United States because the INS said there was a high chance of them overstaying their visa and becoming illegal immigrants. So, in order to visit their daughter they immigrated to the United States. i.e. the INS forced them to become immigrants when they would rather have continued living in their home country.

    Delusions are a common symptom of depression.

    Reactive depression is commonly referred to as an adjustment disorder with depressed mood, not the same as clinical depression.

    Instead of a tax, my supermarket gives a discount for not using plastic bags. Providing discounts have not seem to have encouraged using recyclable bags.
