Even with a high-gain yagi on the roof, I only get a handful in my local area...
I bet you don't actually have a high gain yagi on the roof, i'll bet you have a low gain log-periodic on the roof. Most roof top tv antennas are log periodic, which are designed to cover a wide frequency range, not for super high gain on one frequency.
At first I thought, aww cmon, I could write this! I'll just write a script that sends email to my wife that says, "Hey Honey order us a pizza with peppers and onions", and thats it. But then I read the Documentation and saw that one of the command line options is:
-F|--force
Order your pizza without asking for a confirmation.
and then i realized that there was no way that my implementation could provide such an option.
If you are using X you can put this in the keyboard "InputDevice" section:
Option "XkbOptions" "ctrl:nocaps"
-or-
Option "XkbOptions" "ctrl:swapcaps"
On debian systems:
ln -s/usr/share/keymaps/i386/qwerty/emacs2.kmap.gz/etc/console/boottime.kmap.gz
that will remap the caps-lock key in the text consoles (might work on other distros too).
My thinkpad has a bunch of those email/home/internet buttons, those actually send F13 F14 F15... so those were easily mapped in my window manager to switch virtual desktops
Stop worrying about what the labels on the keys are.
I just got a Rio Karma. I'm very happy with it. One thing of interest to slashdotters is that the Karma has an ethernet port in its doc. It runs a webserver that lets you download a java app that will let you send/receive files to/from the karma *using linux*.
In the evening, I grep my firewall logs for offending IP addresses which are also from my ISP (which for me is basically in the same/16), send the log entries to my ISP, and I usually find that the offending IPs have been shut down early the next day. My ISP is of course much more likely to pay attention to my compaints becuase they have to keep me happy as a customer, so they actually do something about the problem. If everyone were to do this...

You need to read the description again:

This does not imply that the results of your feedback would affect somebody elses search.
since this got modded up to a 5, i'd guess that the moderators should be reading the description again too.....
and so attatched to the board anyway, making pin compatibility a non-issue.
This doesn't make much sense to me. cpu's can't be mini-itx. That is a motherboard size not a cpu size. Also, what about mini-itx means that the cpu would be attached to the board? Many mini-itx boards are available with no cpu soldered on.
OK, so how did these servers get infected in the first place, if they weren't on the internet?
My guess would be a laptop. Picture this, MS engineer takes his laptop home. Connects to his dsl. Laptop gets infected. MS Engineer returns to work, connects to INTERNAL network. Laptop infects servers.
Keep in mind that VISIO installs a copy of SQLServer that is vulnerable, which is probably on a large number of MS laptops.
There is no mention of a warranty anywhere. This would kinda worry me if i was going to be plopping down 5Gs on a device which hasn't had too much field testing.
So they had a wireless T1 link at the south pole and The best they could do in Boston was ISDN??? Maybe i should move to the Sou1th Pole, if the wireless offerings are that good!!
Unfortunately much of this discussion has been deleted from the list archives, but here is the not that started it all:

I think I have the record with these nit wits. I've talked to Bob Novak several times etc(the owner). This guy named "Ed, yea I'll call you back". A number of years back they did have a person that could do the job well, Donna. But they drove her off fast. I've been through some 5 or more order folks there now. There will not be a 6th. That was the only person that ever got a single thing ever worth mentioning done in the plant area regarding service. Also the only one that gave decent service, owner included. They claim to fill 90% of the orders.
Well I can tell everyone it's more like 20%. Or less. If it at all. I've been extremely fair and patient far beyond anything I've ever seen posted here by anyone on the APD or other boards. I order from them every 2 weeks for about 2 years(6-8 months is one thing with certain plants due to the wholsalers etc). I gave up awhile back. Never got but one so so order in that entire time. Ed said "I'll call you/email you etc if he gets something in etc". Never ever once. Didn't matter if you order 300$ worth of plants or 25$ worth of plants, every sized order is ignored equally. I understand some weeks you might not have any/much order to place a plant order overseas etc. So I kept re ordering. This seemed to bug them even more. This part, myself knowing the trade and industry to some degree, am very understanding on. I mentioned that and they mentioned it to me about this issue. But two years of not getting certain plants and orders is just plain BS no matter how you look at it/size it up from their end. The high shipping cost are a complete joke.
But it seems like a LFS that's trying to get into MO with no concept of the expectations and needs of this different type of internet business. They are failing terribly in this area. And certainly the customer is last, rather than first. They act like it's a hassle and that they are going to do it when they want to and they are going to over charge and charge extra for the trouble.
For me this is not about the cost of extra shipping etc, I don't care so much about the $. It's about being able to simply get the plants. Most folks care about the $ much more than I do and are not nearly as patient/understanding about this issue. They also should not have to be, they are the customer who pays their bills but they act like they are doing you a favor. It's one thing if it's a mistake one or two time or even three times, but many years and 5 different service employees?? They get...snip...'s official:
Worse service award of any plant MO place.
And they deserve every bit of it beyond any reasonable doubt.
The problem is that the JRE has a security manager which, unless the user mucks it up, won't allow virii to access the local machine or resources (i.e. address book).
Thats only for java applets, not for standalone java programs. Don't belive me, try this program:
public class HelloWorld {
public static void main( String[] argv ) throws java.io.IOException {
java.io.FileWriter fw = new java.io.FileWriter( "/tmp/hello" );
fw.write("Hello World");
fw.close();
} }
Look, due to the laws of thermodynamics it will ALWAYS take more energy to obtain a resource than to use it.
So since his lasers are powered by the sun, you are saying that he is not going to produce enough energy to renew the sun?? Damn, I guess this isn't going to work.
I don't see this thing as being much more usefull than a palm. But if it had enough RF bandwidth that I could run X clients on another machine and pop the window up in the handheld, not that would be usefull.
So when I submit some obscure electronica song, and tell them that it is my own work (when it really isn't) and ask them to submit it, how will they know if it is really mine? What do they do play it for all of their friends and see if anyone recognizes it? I don't see how this could possibly work. Or else, what happens when some random dude says, "Hi I'm Lars from Metallica, I'd like to give away 'Unforgiven'" How do they know if its Lars or not.

hehe. When I first say this, I thought, oh man, does this mean they are making wearables for my dog now?

This is going on the assumption that SCO would sieze an opportunity to hack/crack someone else's machine, which I'm not ready to believe.

SCO: You are going to have to pay a license to use linux because otherwise you will be illegally using software that we wrote.

SCO: I'm not telling.

No, but uranus is an inner belt object, and therefore, i guess, so are 'roids.

I'll run apache 2.0 when apt-get upgrade decides i will.
My all time favorite algorithm would have to be the first one i learned:
10 print hello;
20 goto 10

The reason that high speed computing has not taken off is that there are currently no consumer apps that require it.
You've obviously never tried to open a spreadsheet in StarOffice.
