For those who are not aware of the dangers of this substance, dihydrogen monoxide is colorless, odorless, tasteless, and kills uncounted thousands of people every year. Most of these deaths are caused by accidental inhalation of DHMO.
Prolonged exposure to its solid form causes severe tissue damage. Exposition to it gaseous form may cause burns, permanent scars and even death.

Symptoms of DHMO ingestion include sweating and urination, and possibly a bloated feeling, nausea, vomiting and body electrolyte imbalance.
For those who have become dependent, DHMO withdrawal means certain death.
Dihydrogen monoxide is also known as hydroxyl acid, and is the major component of acid rain. It has been found that malignant cancer cells only develop in its presence.

The American government has refused to ban the production, distribution, or use of this damaging chemical due to its "importance to the economic health of this nation.". It's commonly used as an industrial solvent and coolant, as a fire retardant, in the distribution of pesticides, in abortion clinics, and lots more.

I created a community against DHMO in Orkut. You're all invited to join it.

In 2003 a famous rock radio station called 89 FM, that broadcasts to Sao Paulo, Brazil, went a little further.

On that day, they played old dance and pop music, like Michael Jackson, Abba, Barry White, Kool and The Gang, Chic, Jimmy Bo Horne...

And they simply didn't announce themselves as 89 FM anymore, like they usually did in each break (You're listening 89 FM, blah blah).

When listeners started calling the station to see what happened, they said they had been sold. There were some people who got scared, as this is one of the best rock radios in Sao Paulo.

They really had to have guts to say they were sold.

The difference being the actual question is not "what if", but when.

We face both increased flooding and increased drought. Extended heat waves, more powerful storms, and other extreme weather events will become more and more common.

The greenhouse gases we've already placed in the atmosphere will continue to warm the planet for many decades if not centuries. Right now, there is about 40 percent more carbon dioxide in the atmosphere than there was at the dawn of the Industrial Revolution. The CO2 concentration is projected to reach twice the pre-industrial level by the middle of this century. This doubling of CO2 is the scenario most scientists have relied on in projecting the likely impacts of global warming. But here's what's really troubling: If we continue with business as usual, by the turn of the century greenhouse gas concentrations will be approaching three times the pre-industrial levels. In other words, we may be facing consequences far more severe than those already projected.

It's been happening for some years already. Read this, from 1999.

From there, things are getting worse. Islands in the South Pacific abandoned by their residents as their ground water turns salty; Connecticut-size bergs calving off the antarctic ice mass; record floods in Europe followed by more record floods. Across northern India this year, record-breaking heat storms arrived before the monsoon, raising the temperature to 123 degrees in the shade--so hot that the birds were dropping dead from the trees. Richard Clarke, then the White House counter- terrorism co-ordinator, said: "Defence secretary Rumsfeld was saying we needed to bomb Iraq. We all said, 'But no, no, al-Qaeda is in Afghanistan.' They were talking about Iraq on 9/11."

Rumsfeld responded by saying that "there aren't any good targets in Afghanistan and there are lots of good targets in Iraq".

I love how you just say he lied to a whole nation in order to get support for the war. What did he say or even insinuate that was a lie?

You must been brain-washed if you din't notice the lies. He tried to picture Saddam as a threat to the US. But Saddam, althought being a son-of-a-bitch crazy loon, was harmless to the world at that point. His army was almost dismanteled, specially if compared to what it was some years ago. He didn't have any missile able to reach the continental US. He didn't have any WMD (in fact I am surprised the US didn't plant any WMD in Iraq, to be found). He was not affiliated with Al-Qaeda. And all reports Bush received indicated all this. But he tried to supress and change these reports and fabricate others, that would incriminate Saddam.
