Fact of the matter is, I would like to know how many of us that read /. still have tape decks in our cars. What else is this thing good for? For 200 bucks, I Would much rather have a unit with an LCD and deal with using a car adapter.

Sure, they may be on a much smaller scale, but something is to be said about archives of data maintained by one person, or one person having the only password to access these archives. But I guess we all know about too many cooks in the kitchen...

Do your homework. No, I am not a Divx advocate.

There were three Divx players on the market. RCA, Proscan, and Panasonic. All three players played normal DVD's just as good as any other "non-divx" enable player on the market. While these players are useless to play Divx as of the June 2001 deadline, they play normal DVD's just fine.

Manhunter was based on the first book by Thomas Harris, entitled Red Dragon. This is the book that started it all, introducing us to Lecter and a plot line that leads us along with ex-FBI forensic expert Will Graham. Silence of The Lambs was the second book, again written by Thomas Harris. Yes, Hannibal was the third installment, you guessed it, written by Thomas Harris. Harris is a great writer. His list includes the three mentioned above and another one on US Terrorism, Black Sunday. All great reads. Check them out.

ahem, Harmon Kardon skimpy on their amps? I Think not. For its class, HK has the highest current amps on the market. Sure it is still less than what you will get out of Marantz, New Castle, and other high end components, to even mention HK in the same breath as sonykenwoodpioneer is simply degrading. For example, Harmon Kardon signature series - Power amp rated at 100 watts of power at 100 amps of current. You do the math.
