12.04 and 14.04 were kind of previous versions with updated programs, nice polished and updated drivers. But 16.04 will have exciting new stuff: privacy enabled by default, ZFS, new software centre, first LTS with systemd (yeap, mind that, I like it!) and kernel 4.
It'll be full of clear and descriptive updates, like "Update for Windows 10 for x64-based Systems - Recommended Update - Install this update to resolve issues in Window."
Thanks, good sir! Nice to see this idea spreading! I'm from Brazil, and we have e-voting system here, but we have serious concerns with current used system. Interestingly, most of people here prefers the e-voting due results speed, even with these concerns.
My English is a bit bad and I didn't read the entire article (while I've read a bunch of blockchain articles in the last months). But in a quick search, I was not able to find mention to this (using the keywords that came to my mind). So, this is a truth question: can you point me where? I mean, a sentence/keyword that I can search in the text.
... and for this reason, while some users left Ubuntu due Unity, I started to use default Ubuntu exactly because they've replaced with Unity (previously, used Kubuntu).
KSplice is not news, and it works for other distros too, including Ubuntu (while it takes a while to add support for new hardware enablements). It was cool before kernel 4.
But kernel 4 series is not supposed to support hot plug out of the box?
I'm not sure what this number does it mean, but the Ubuntu community on G+ has 245,066 members. I think it's a good number, considering it's a opt-in signup.
I can comprehend the demand, just cannot comprehend why insert in Unicode table. It's used for "official", spoken charset languages, not trend.
Can you realize how bad will if we got the 90's emoticons on it, then after they got no more used, inflate Unicode with all the internet 2000's expressions too, and then very new decade, the new trend inflating Unicode after the old one got no more used?
Why not keep Unicode for the languages charsets, and create a separate table for this kind of demand?
The proper command to update is in the LTS Enablement Stack wiki: https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Kernel...:
sudo apt-get install --install-recommends linux-generic-lts-wily xserver-xorg-core-lts-wily xserver-xorg-lts-wily xserver-xorg-video-all-lts-wily xserver-xorg-input-all-lts-wily libwayland-egl1-mesa-lts-wily libgl1-mesa-glx-lts-wily libgl1-mesa-glx-lts-wily:i386 libglapi-mesa-lts-wily:i386
LTS series is perfect for this. We use in our production servers (previously we're using CentOS). No regret!

Don't worry. Soon they'll throw away again and start from the ground.

Slide + prediction is the greatest thing about these keyboards. You can disable autocorrection.
That would be cool if they don't kill the new acquired company, product and philosophy in few years.
... and make it as a GitHub competitor? GitHub is good, but far from perfect.

Why are we not using it for eletronic voting systems?

And the next Ubuntu will the one with Unity 8 and Mir. Repeat the pray every release.

Yeap, I moved to a startup in 2011 (the best move I did in my life). Thanks for keep me updated with the new monster name! :)
Unity 8 was announced by Mark with privacy enabled by default, several months ago. And the reason was Snowden scandal, not money.
Unity 8 was expected to be the DE in Ubuntu 16.04, but it was delayed. But, at least, the promise to keep the privacy was not delayed.
I'm sure IBM will find a way to use Sametime as base for this!
I'm not arguing against emojis. Why insert emojis, or software icons, or smartphone app icons in Unicode at all and not in a separate table?
ROAAAARRRRR!

Can someone explain me why emojis are in Unicode at all?
