Now that is much more likely. But then again we are the kind of people that know about it and how to do it. Perhaps mp3s are the most probable illegal activity that could happen.
Either way, I am breaking no law or contract where i am. So i won't sweat it. (I provide a free access point.)
What a load of crap. How many pedophiles do you think are really out there?
You have been suckered by one of the four horseman of the internet Apocalypse. Used by Governments world wide to justify new laws.
Are you afraid of terrorists when you go to the movies? Or on your way to work? What about all those pedophiles that you walk past every day! They might take a look at you child! OMG Won't Someone thing of the children!!
I have a FON access point with a booster and Just a plain wireless that I have left open for others to use. Its open because they are allowed to use it. They up to 50% of my bandwidth (2Mbit). Its cost me nothing, so why not?
Physics just happens to fit within that set. Some physics happens to fit, like 1000's of independent collision-less particles, not all physics in general. And in particular Games physics where accuracy is not really important fits well. Even better if its just eye candy, you don't need to push the results back to main memory.
You will not infringe on dozens, you will infringe on *thousands*. I am doing just what you said, more or less. There are many many patents that are mathematically *identical*. Some even "patent" the mathematical process (lifting in this case) to derive *any* efficient implementation of DCT or similar.
Of course there are patents on sticks for dogs to fetch, how to swing in a swing and the use of a laser pointer to entertain cats (I think there a dozen of so of that one). Its quite clear that these patents won't stand up to a proper challenge and some of the video based patents have been ruled invalid when its gone to court.
But even if you win. Really the only winners are the lawyers....
Real Linux distros need you to use a text editor before they even start to install;)
Joking aside, IMO the package systems that are in Linux are pretty broken. When they don't work your are really stuffed. And When they do there can still be plenty of things that stop working. Add to the fact that updating one tiny thing can results in gigabytes of downloads and simply don't work at all with a air gap, and I would say linux and windows are almost == here. Windows even has a leg up since the updates are usually easy to apply with a air gap.
Not everyone has fast inexpensive internet. Most current linux distro don't cater to well for that.
Of course now the bible literalists can jump up and say "see we are made from dust" but hell that can only lead to interesting conversations.... Its not the bible literalists that keep tagging these type of comments on the end of there posts. Seriously what does this have to do with anything at all?
Some? try almost all. And its worse than that. The editors are not usually paid. The reviewers (as in peer reviewed journal) are not paid. The authors are not paid. Yet the journals gets the copyright and charge *huge* fees for online and physical subscriptions. Journals like nature are the worst for this and charge by far the most. This is why i try to publish in open access journals only.
The problem with a cheating culture is that degrades the value of the whole course. This has happened is some cases where employers simply don't believe that a degree is a degree from some university courses.
Cheating is a fail. Plain and simple. If you want high school treatment, well they should have stayed there.
However in this case it is impossible to tell if someone viewed the answers. So a spot test sounds like the best approach. I will use that next time I have this problem. Thanks!
How many man hours are wasted watching TV. Seriously if it is soo difficult to change a few clocks, buy the ones that adjust automatically or work with ntp.
For the record I live in Austria and I'm well aware of the differences between countries. After all there are a total of 11 different countries represented in my group alone.
Its funny how on/. you are suppose to go along with the consensus when its popular. But in other cases its considered bad science. Also you shouldn't listen to a dude who is not a climatologist unless he/she agrees with the now very popular opinion.
You only have to read the peer review literature to very quickly get an idea on what the scientists are really sure of. And that perhaps the media are adding some spin of there own (as are some of the scientists in the first place).
Now they have everyone convinced it's addictive (it's habit forming but not addictive), causes cancer (it doesn't, and in fact prevents cancer) and leads to harder drugs (it doesn't; the laws against it do). Reference please.
Some have even said they were lucky that the problem didn't case the loss of a vehicle. Apollo 13 pongo resulted in changes to suppress the problem in later missions.
Personally I would prefer a longer term outlook on the space program which this current plan is not. A lot of people have this view and so are looking for reasons to criticize the program(rightly or wrongly).
Yes, but try installing anything that not on the standard distro, then your frequently out of luck. I'm not saying its not possible, but i had to write my own scripts to get it to work with the ones i tried which included Ubuntu (and quite a few others). Package systems in general lack a lot of flexibility, but thats another story.
My point was simply that the assumption is that every computer is connected to the internet. More or less.

A good point. So how much is a established set of buyers that don't need lots of extra marketing dollars thrown at them?
As i said, this is /. What age do you think has all day to read and post to stories like this.
This is /. What do you think?
But would the buyers follow?

By the sound of it you are from the UK.
Who only gets one month? I get 6 weeks and you can back it up 3 years! One of the reasons I live in the EU now. The lifestyle is great.
