So youtube is going to fight conpiracies
about cabals trying to control what you can see and hear by forming one of their own ?
Well bitchute https://www.bitchute.com/ will be happy for the traffic, and seeing as they are distributed and powered by bit torrent it should make a nice alternative to the company that used to "Do No Evil"

Re:Dangers of a Fragile Single-Outlet Monopoly
Well, they tried to start a Youtube competitor, Bitchute - http://www.bitchute.com/ - but as soon as Google noticed they cut off Bitchute's ability to pay their creators. Let this be a lesson to all those who say "why don't you start your own platform?" The government needs to break up Google. They're too powerful and it's harming our democracy.

Anyone know anything about Bitchute?

Re:BitChute
Browse around a bit. I am subscribed to the BitChute channels that I used to follow on YouTube, and there is a lot of those. So no, I don't think there is no original content on BitChute, for the simple reason that a lot of YouTube channels have now copied their stuff to BitChute.
So you could search on BitChute for your favourite YT channel.
However.... I do have to admit that there are fewer science-related channels on BitChute than on YT, in relative (and of course, in absolute) terms.
You might want to check out this channel: https://www.bitchute.com/chann...

Re:Speech be free
It was. Then, powerful corporations created centralized services and everyone flocked to them, trading freedom for security. When you had personal home pages and search engines, everyone was equal. When you have Google's SJWs penalizing conservative sites back to page 153 of search results and promoting far left sites to page 1, it's a different story.
The problem with youtube, google, facebook, twitter, reddit... we took this open platform of the internet where anyone could do anything and we gave control over our behavior to a few big players because their products were slick and had a lot of cash invested in them. We centralized... and in centralizing we gave control over this free wheeling space of the internet to a handful of companies.
And now we're seeing the problem with that. The same problem we had before with the handful of media companies that provided our TV, Newspapers, Radio, etc...The freedom is gone if you centralize.
We have to decentralize. Put the power in so many hands that no one would even dream they could stop anything. We can get started with Bitchute.com, a decentralized video sharing service. Start uploading your videos there and sharing, instead of youtube. Or do it together with youtube. Either way, you can't be censored there.

OBS Studio or FFMPEG
I made a script that uses FFMPEG called "StreamPi" to make it easier to stream for people that can't run OBS Studio because of the OpenGL requirements. https://www.bitchute.com/video....

Duckduckgo, w3m, and mpv
The Linux way: I use Duckduckgo in a text web browser (w3m) or something quick like Dillo. DDG doesn't show me a bunch of useless, click-bait info like Google does. Then, if I want to watch YouTube videos (use https://tonvid.com/ as frontend) or any other website with youtube-dl supported embeds (https://rg3.github.io/youtube-dl/supportedsites.html), I can set w3m's external browser setting to "mpv -ytdl --vo=opengl,drm,caca --ao=pulse,alsa. Using the commas sets a priority order just in case one is not supported. Then, I set w3m's user-agent to mobile Safari. This forces most video and radio sites to switch to mobile friendly, Adobe-free, format like MP4, m3u, etc. If you do open a page and get a JS error, ignore it and press Shift+M to launch mpv anyway; youtube-dl will parse the URL for you. Using mpv as my player, I can stream videos to my computer in both GUI and TTY as long as I'm runlevel 3 or 5 and have keyboard controls, which vlc-nox does not in TTY. It's basically an easier to use fork of mplayer. Made a tutorial here: https://www.bitchute.com/video.... No ads, no JS tracking, and lightning speed. And yes, that also means getting your p0rñ fix without lea in the command-line.
