Re:30
If you take the Dash action, you can run 60 metres per turn.

Don't you mean "admitted"?

Re:Copper?
I just have a feeling that "fast" or "quick" will be rather ambiguous ways to describe a network connection for a rather long time
"Quick" is clearly a reference to this feat, which when applied to telecommunications would imply that the routers can deliver one packet as a free action, once per turn. A "fast" connection merely delivers one packet as a move-equivalent action, limiting the router to either two packets per turn (plus one 5" step) or one data packet plus one ICMP/IGMP control packet. AFAIK, the only other way to reliably raise bandwidth is to invest in some Switchports of Speed, which will create a permanent haste effect and thus one additional packet per turn.

Re:MOD PARENT DOWN... oops, it's the story
Well, it is when you're his age. The kid only has half hit dice!

Re:The Truth
I got "into" this about half a year ago. With friends, we all hadn't played before, only 1 person had played DnD 2nd edition once. And we wanted to play DnD 3.5E.
The biggest challenge is a DM. The Dungeon Master defines the game. The Dungeon Master needs to know the rules. We didn't go look for a DM, I just became DM. Starting by reading the player handbook, understand the key parts of combat and stats. And then just go play. Figure out the rest as you go. With a new group nobody will complain if you make a mistake.
The first game we did was with 3 people, me as DM and 2 players. Just to get a feeling for the rules. We didn't have any dice or miniatures. Filling in the character sheets took about a hour. We only used melee/ranged character, no spellcasting. We used paper to draw out the maps and crosses and lines as characters and enemies. And an Android app to roll dice. It was a blast, and I killed one of my players near the end (just to show that I could).
As we progressed with more games, we added more players, dice, miniatures (combination of old board games, and new warhammer miniatures) until we had a full DnD game. We also noticed we had used a few rules wrong. Which is no problem really, it's all about the fun, and we fixed those.Finding a paper copy of the 3.5 DnD edition is pretty hard because they are no longer sold, but your favorite torrent site should have them in PDF form. However, on http://www.dandwiki.com/wiki/SRD:System_Reference_Document you have the "DnD 3.5 SRD" which is almost all the rules (except for EXP/level up rules) in a free form. With monsters and everything. Once you get the basic rules the SRD is all you really need, if you want to play D&D 3.5. (We just skip anything "epic" and "psionic", to keep it a bit simpler)
I took a look at Legend, and it looks quite a bit like 3.5 in my eyes. But I miss monsters. With the 3.5 SRD I have a whole huge list of monsters to use, for free.
If you have a group of friends willing to play, then it's just as simple as "go for it" really.

Re:One word:
Bags of holding are not as heavy as their contents; ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bag_of_holding ) depending on the edition and type of bag, she's only going to be about another 15-60 pounds on top of her regular 300. While Humvees are indeed heavier than this (5200-5900 pounds, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Humvee), fat chicks with bags of holding are not an appropriate standard of weight class for military vehicles. I suggest using Huge ( http://www.dandwiki.com/wiki/SRD:Huge_Animated_Object ) or Gargantuan ( http://www.dandwiki.com/wiki/SRD:Gargantuan_Animated_Object ) animated objects.

Body transfer?
If talking about state changes only, this seems like a potential candidate for a scientific variant of the D&D clone spell..

Re:Squids
Imagine the humans of 1900 trying to pose a credible threat to or hide from the humans of 2009. Now imagine the same thing, but it's the Romans or Chinese or a few thousand years ago versus the humans of 2009.
You know? Some of my fellow gamers used to say similar things about kobolds? That changed when the kobolds started chucking a few dozen spears from the top of the cliff, or collapsing the cliff on their heads.
I've also heard RL examples of this? Allegedly, the Mujaheddin in Afghanistan used to fire from the tops of cliffs upon the Russian Hinds using old muskets. The lead musket balls would splatter on the blades and the lead would stick, throwing off the balance and shaking it out of the air. Urban legend? Probably. But the lesson remains.
Better tech does NOT equal greater tactical skill.

Smite Thine Enemies
First thought in my mind - "Cool, now we can Call Lighting to Smite Thine Enemies!" http://www.dandwiki.com/wiki/SRD:Call_Lightning
