Need to activate your garbage collector to delete those code fragments that are deprecated ("look up the address in mapsco") or deemed a waste of resources ("back in my day...") or harmful to the host system ("you'll never amount to anything").

That is the perfect sound for a beam weapon!

A beam weapon (Star Trek) would be more devastating than several short bursts from a rapid-fire laser (Star Wars), although in that case, it would definitely need to have the PEW, PEW sound.

  14. If there is one thing social media is good at, it's stirring people into a frenzy, and previous frenzies have worked to boycott companies that are deemed offensive. Hit a corporation in the money bags, and it'll adjust. Talk is cheap and politicians can be bought, but corporations fear loss of revenue more than anything else.

It is not an obsession with someone else's genitalia but an aversion to join in the peer-pressured delusion.

No different than Rachel Dolezal claiming to be black. No matter how much she frizzes her hair or tans in a tanning bed, she is not nor will ever be black.

Reluctance or refusal to participate in someone else's delusion doesn't mean people are automatically -phobes.

We should all treat other people with respect, as we are all human beings. Just as transgender people should be respected for living their lives however they want, other people should be respected by allowing them to have their own thoughts without fear of reprisal.

Two weeks of child molestation doesn't seem inconsequential - that's two weeks of lifetime trauma to several children. However, rescuing the children and catching the bad guys are the highest priorities, and it seems unfortunately unavoidable to allow the illegal activity to continue for a time, to allow law enforcement to find the children and arrest the bad guys.

Most people, if not all, should have access to quality medical care. The service exists, but it is currently setup to be too expensive for most people without insurance. Also, most people don't like to pay for some random strangers' medical bills, although we all do that very thing for local government services like police and fire. As long as the burden isn't too different from those services, add medical to that list of socially-funded services. This is from a non-leftie.
