Re:Your school is right
Look back at the OLPC problems once Microsoft got to their customers.
-
It's been done.
Somebody already tried this, as I discovered during a patent search.
Other weird search ideas included adjusting search preferences based on what other applications are running. If you seach for "gold", you get different responses depending on whether you're running Everquest or Excel.
What's more likely to work is ad personalization based on your social network. If your friends bought something, then promoting it to you is a promising idea. That's been proposed as PriceKut.

Re:My Question
Where do you want to go today?

Gates on hype...In response to 700,000 users who sent postcards to Microsoft telling them where they wanted to go today:
"We meant it as a rhetorical device," said Bill Gates, Chairman of Microsoft. "But, evidently people took us literally. That's nothing new, really. They've been believing our claims and hype for years."
Can 'user base who will believe our claims and hype' be justified as a company asset on SEC filings?

People Against Viagra Email Spam
I don't know, I might be crazy. When I first looked at the topic of this story, I read it as 'Viagra Arrests Man For Spamming'.
Not all that crazy considering there is a class action lawsuit against the makers of viagra by People Against Viagra Email Spam. And I for one think that we should be sensitive to their cause. With any luck Pfizer, the makers of Viagra, will be putting out contracts on spammers who use their trademarked name.
After all, the most sensitive way to deal with spammers is to hunt them down and kill them slowly and painfully. -
Money TalksOne good way to stop Spam is to go after the companies whos product is being offered.
Like these guy's suing Pfizer the maker of Viagra.

Re:Talk Like a Pirate
"September 19th: Talk like a pirate day"
Let the anti-piracy companies sort that one out.
Headline: Today the RIAA confirmed it's belief that the entire world was composed of pirates, as 37 million americans answered their phone with a slurred "Arrh?", and started their team-meetings with the phrase "Avast, me hearties, ye have no business for me?". Darth Vadress herself was quoted as saying "this is the proof we need to start building our detainment facility for 12-year-old pirates" -
RIAA also reponsible for recent massive blackout.....at least according to Denounce Newswire

Re:Like Frank Xia ...
Interesting... it also says that the word "crap" predates Mr. Crapper anyway.
Disregarding the facts, I imagine the toilet was in fact invented by the famous Japanese sanitation engineer Dr. Takhira Shita.
