I don't think so. All three Apollo astronauts had space suits and wore them at times during the mission, even in the Command Module, in case of a unplanned cabin depressurization.
That isn't right; Apollo was a shirtsleeves environment with suits worn only during launch, docking, EVA and reentry. The Apollo 13 crew didn't even wear suits during reentry.
The shuttle can't retract its gear once it's lowered. The gear is raised in the orbiter processing facility before it is mated with the stack. If a computer (or a pilot) accidentally deployed gear in orbit there would be a "loss of vehicle scenario" (to use the NASA euphemism).
The one thing I always hated about the SE/30 was it's name. When they put a 68030 in the Mac II it became the IIx. The compact Mac II with an 030 was the IIcx. So the SE with an 030 should have been called the SEx.
They would have sold millions and millions of them.
I'm surprised that a company the size of AOL hasn't thought of a better way of curbing spam. The obvious - and far more user-friendly - corollary to charging for mail sent would be to pay users to receive email.
can't be operated in a pocket because it goes nuts whenever it touches anything (at least I couldn't reliably do it)... I had to take the thing out of my pocket to operate it at all.
Why don't you just switch the controls lock and use the inline remote on the headphones?
They tend to only get OS upgrades when they get a new computer [...].
This is probably the most insightful comment in this entire story. Think about what Vista is going to do to the bottom end of the PC market - the Sempron-and-256M-and-integrated-graphics-for-$300- disasters. They're going to be wiped out. I'm sure that the market will find a new acceptable lowest common denominator, but it won't be as cheap as before.
Thinking "what happened before" the big bang is fallacious. Time doesn't exist outside the universe - the universe is space and time. In terms of the universe there isn't a before just as there isn't an outside.
Interestingly, the first person to have this kind of view of time was St Augustine, who believed that God created time when he created the Earth.
IRA terrorism finally disappeared after 9/11. Up until then sympathetic Americans were happy to fund an organisation that bought weapons from Libya to kill people in England.
The Internet can't be free in that sense, because we and the cable companies have made an investment, and for a Google or Yahoo! or Vonage or anybody to expect to use these pipes [for] free is nuts!"
This line struck out to me, as well.
Google, Yahoo and Vonage aren't using their pipes. The telco's own customers - the ones who pay that ratty bill every month - are the ones using the bandwidth. It isn't as if content providers are pushing the stuff down the pipes. The insidious aspect of this is that the telcos understand this and are clearly misrepresenting the situation.
For instance, I pay for 15Mbps FiOS(FTTP). They have a 100Mbps fiber line to my house. So they have 85Mbps to play with for their TV service, phone service, or better internet access plans. I am not affected as I am paying for exactly what they are giving me.
Except that your contention ratio is going to go through the roof.
Read the article (unless you're just trolling, in which case "well done".)
Cory criticized the side-effects of the copy prevention software. He didn't say companies shouldn't be able to use copy prevention, just that they shouldn't damage the security of your computer.
The person who threatened vague legal action is attempting to stop reasonable comment simply because it would damage his business.
According to today's NYT story, the Disney unit doing Toy Story 3 was known as Pixaren't. It looks like Disney will kill their version in favor of a Pixar production.

It was more than ego which dictated the design.

These days GNOME has a better user interface than OS X, and it runs fine on $200 computers.
Plus, girls will go wild for your anti-grav hoverbike.

Agreed, though AOL-TimeWarner was a tragedy, whereas Apple-Disney would be a farce.

But when the sun explodes your music won't play whatever format it's in! And what does Apple do about this? Nothing!.
It's a class action suit waiting to happen.
I'm glad I futureproofed it though.
You can't totally future-proof something. I think a better term would be future-resistant.
Bono was a Republican, as is his widow and successor in Congress, Mary Bono.
Yes, but Clinton got a blowjob.
I suppose the fact that Apple doesn't make hardware
Your approach to debate reminds me of my ex-wife.
Yes why not switch to a fringe system that can't run any of your current software and won't run most the software you want to purchase in the future.
Just to clarify; by 'fringe system' do you mean OS X or Vista?

You tipped your hand by using the word 'evolutionist'. The only people I've ever heard use that word are creationists.
The distinction between scientists and activists is that scientists don't discard theories that don't fit their agenda.
Do you mean Microsoft? Sony? Nintendo? Ford? BMW?
The PowerPC market is huge. Worldwide, half of all the cars manufactured this year will use at least one PPC.
It was fiat. What do you think the source of all law is?

If they're selling the drugs in LA and you want to bomb NY, they aren't going to give a damn.
This discussion would certainly benefit from the input of any real terrorists or drug smugglers out there.
Don't be shy!

The Bible says that you must tithe 10%.
Yes, except that the Bible says no such thing.
Have you seen the stewardesses on those Leer jets? Pow!
