Television Production Collaboration
I setup a wiki (mediawiki) for the TV Program, 3D: Dialogue, that I host on OMNI TV. The producers use the wiki to store info on guests, topics, shows, research, overviews, factoids, and the script. It makes it a lot easier for the shows to be produced and have all the necessary info available to the people who need it. The G4Tech TV show http://www.g4techtv.ca/callforhelp/>Call for Help in the same studio as my show, and they also use a wiki to produce their show.

Notice the "Copyright G4 Media" on both pages. Hmm.
Notice how they have almost the same shows. Hmm.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/G4_Media
Notice that the American company has a 30% minor ownership in the Canadian version. Hmm.
Notice the fact that the Canadian page says "Call for Help - coming to the US!" Hmm hmm hmm.
Why, yes! It's the same show! From the same production company!
Anyone who's given Mr. Laporte money has given money for the production of "This Week in Tech," which is a podcast, and has nothing to do with his television shows. HELLO.
So you just run along and heat your retards, 'kay? Whatever the hell that's supposed to mean. -
Re:Cool, I've missed them
If you can get Canadian cable, you can catch Leo on Call for Help. Almost like the Screen Savers, and Amber is hawt.

Re:G4 bought TechTV for one reason ...
I sincerely hope someone steps up and resurrects some of this content.
Leo Laporte is still doing Call for Help on G4TechTV Canada. We still get a bunch of the content from the US G4TechTV though. Is it illegal to own a Candian satellite receiver in the US?

Call for Help in Canada
Apparently Rogers bought the rights to Call for Help (or something) and is now producing the show out of Toronto, and it's being aired on the Canadian G4TechTV channel. Website.
And as for the rest, I agree with most of the other sentiment here. Personally I thought Kevin and Patrick worked on TSS, but after G4 bought them, and they put on that "Alex" guy, it just went down the tubes. The whole tone changed, and it was NOT a good thing, and it was almost painful to watch the guy.
Still, I didn't know the whole details of the affair, so I was glad to read the article to see exactly what happened, and in what order. The link at the end of the blog to Wil Wheaten's blog was also good IMO. For those that missed it, that link is here.
Still, sad to see a good TV show go down. Sure it wasn't super-involved in the technical questions (not too complicated for the lay person), but the "feel" of the show was right, and I enjoyed watching. Now, no way. Only if there's NOTHING else on, which is rare.
