Re:Structurally sound?
I'm looking at this photo of one of the rooms. Is having a glass room suspended from the ceiling really such a good idea for a bunker designed to withstand blasts? It seems like a very bad idea to make a structurally sound bunker with that kind of room. Unless you want your manager to be the first one to die in his office
No. I was inside such shelters during my service in the Swedish military. The glass arcade is not part of the original construction. What you see is likely a store room (might even have stored air) or a compression chamber, the living areas is much smaller in space (I had to go sideways and kneeling through most of the spaces in those structures when they where still in military use and thankfully I never had to use any of the sleeping chambers because I would have had to compress my shoulders and thorax to fit).

Fake photos?
Either the photos are fake, or that place keeps changing hands.
Seriously that's like the third if not fourth time I've seen this exact photo used over the last two or three years of Slashdot news.

Re:'Bout time
I can think of a much simpler explanation why this wasn't caught in testing. Apple has an AT&T tower on site. So all iPhone 4s tested in Apple's labs would've had a strong signal to work with. Apple also gave phones to select personnel to field test, but were so paranoid about it being spotted in the field that they disguised it with (you guessed it) a rubber bumper to hide the distinctive metal antenna band. So it was impossible to hold the field test units in a way which shorted out the two antennas.

Re:The real reason AT&T is mad
Basically - they couldn't find a way to charge for each downloaded e-mail address.
Atleast it looks like Gawker got their bill:

Re:Ha ha, I love the genius of the hackers' name
I like how they seem to think it's amazing to get some of those e-mail addresses, I mean, come on, just look at it:

Do you think Les Hintons e-mail address may be les.hinton@dowjones.com ?!Top secret!

Re:Part deux
Looks exactly like the phone Gizmodo got their hands on, except this one has a SIM slot on the right. I tend to believe these are the real deal.
Look again: the sim is on the same side. http://cache-02.gawkerassets.com/assets/images/4/2010/04/500x_iphone11.jpg

Re:Republicans stealing music again? I'm shocked.
True but you can't get the same impact.
The best example I could find are these 2:http://mises.org/images4/ObamaProgress.jpg
http://cache.gawkerassets.com/assets/images/7/2008/05/340x_obama-progress-poster.jpgCould the message be conveyed as simply and as clearly and achieve the same resonance otherwise?

Re:Republicans stealing music again? I'm shocked.
this:
http://mises.org/images4/ObamaProgress.jpgWhich is certainly a derivative of this:
http://cache.gawkerassets.com/assets/images/7/2008/05/340x_obama-progress-poster.jpgand would not be protected because it's about the subject of the original rather than the original.
It certainly carries a very valid message.
That just strikes me as stifling since it effectively blocks the creation of satires which resonate with or which people associate with what you want to respond to.

Google Room View
Does this remind anyone of the Google Room View photoshopped picture from Gizmodo?

Re:Is this a joke?Notice that I didn't jump to a conclusion.
I said if X -> P.
My entire comment was a hypothetical scenario. I said If it gave them rights to object oriented systems, THEN .
Also, I did not base my entire post on the title. As I said in my other reply, I did not read the patents (because to be honest, I don't really care), however, I did look at the diagrams that were part of the patent application.

Re:Is this a joke?
Look at this diagram (this is a different patent than the one I mentioned in my initial post): http://cache-04.gawkerassets.com/assets/images/4/2010/03/500x_5519867wtmk.jpg
