So with these examples, is there any "triage" that happens in the USPTO? Even just to weed out the absolutely ridiculous. I'd imagine there is quite a number of applications submitted every year that fall within the ridiculous category.
I couldn't believe my ears this past weekend when I heard people discussing how scary 21-12-2012 is going to be because they read all the "facts" about it. Needless to say, I lost a lot of faith in humanity that day.
I've got to admit that I don't really know much about the hardware side of tech and new advances in the shrinking of chip size, but what are the real benefits of shedding 7nm off the last smallest chip? It seems to me like a very marginal gain, unless I'm missing something fundamental about why one would want even smaller chip sizes.

I laughed my ass off when I watched the news and saw some blogger in NY or somewhere, hooting and hollering as he ran out of the store because he was a big enough loser to sit in line for 2 days to be the first to get an iPad. I've got to give it to Apple, they have their customers trained very well.
I know how much everyone hates anecdotal evidence, but I'd like to share my story anyways.
I went to High School with this one guy; I didn't really know him nor did I ever talk to him, but I knew who he was. One day I went to school and overheard on the morning announcements that he had passed away. I didn't know that he was sick, but it was sad nonetheless. I get home and take a quick look at the newspaper and it turned out he'd committed suicide. This was quite a shock to me and his family. It turned out he was constantly bullied by one kid because he was gay. He outlined all of this in his suicide note to his family that he left in the tree house in which he leapt from. After about a week, I was looking at the paper again and it turned out the bully was suspended for not standing for the memorial silence my school had the day after his passing.
Why did he hate him so much? I don't really know exactly. It didn't seem like he could have done anything that serious enough to the bully to warrant a constant lashing.
Could the move have something to do with the introduction of more and more computers and media into our libraries? Back in the day, all you basically had were books. Sure you could rent videos there, but you couldn't really watch them there, you had to take them home to watch. But with the computers, you can chat online, facebook and even play games. Hell, sometimes people even look at porn on those things(I've read in the news about some guy getting caught looking at child pornography at my local library downtown).
Seems to me that these things might have played a large role in the conversion.
Whenever someone is cured, they say, "Praise the Lord for healing me".
A hurricane runs through town, they say, "Oh well, God works in mysterious ways".
Exactly, I like in Canada and through the many 9 month winters I've never experienced, seen or even heard of anything remotely close to what this story is demonizing. Maybe we don't use LED lights, I'm not really sure, but I find it odd that this is an uncommon problem in a very cold country.
Do you really write 200,000, etc. as "0.2 million"? But hey, 0.2 million out of about approx. 0.134 billion is only 0.15% of the population.
Sure you can get your book...... in 75 years when the classified information therein becomes declassified.

For every ebay.com ad I put up I was given the choice of NOT accepting PayPal.

Just because all you're searching for on Bittorrent is illegal content doesn't mean that that's all there is.
We don't want cops that beat us and get convicted with cam footage; we want cops that don't beat us to begin with.
Good luck with that one.
So it's more like 2.5D, I still feel ripped off!

Indeed, but I indeed disagree.
Who says people who don't bike to work are out of shape? I don't see how one causes the other.
You have a smaller landmass than us and 10 times the amount of people.

Or he could live nowhere near the US and work at companies that have to adhere to sane laws.
tastycrats and fingerlick'ans.
I'm trying to figure out if you meant to reference Futurama or if that was a mistake.
Well I'm certainly not going to sleep easy tonight!

LOL, "minnimum wedge". I know there is a joke to be made of that, but it's just not coming to me.
