Re:opt out...
I saw a link to this in a Slashdot thread a few days ago
http://www.ghostzilla.com/ghostzilla-cd/index.html
Runs from a CD without installation, keeps setting and history hidden and encrypted, and coolest of all: It runs your browser inside any part of an application you're working with. If you move your mouse away from that window, the browser dissappears and your regular work returns. -
Re:Upcoming lizard related technology...
"Chameleo-browser" - A new plugin for firefox which will allow porn pages, when seen from a distance to blend in with spreadsheets and become unnoticable.
Done and done (but not as a plugin). Introducing Ghostzilla! -
A more useful extension: Ghostzilla?
I'd like to know is why no one has written a Ghostzilla extension for Firefox. That is, something that makes Firefox do what Ghostzilla does, except without the bugs and old rendering engine and separate installation and stuff.
Please? Someone? -
Re:Thanks a bundle!
grab Ghostzilla if you need discretion.

Re:How I appear busy at work
Do you mean GhostZilla?
Not that I've ever used it of course.

Re:I'm supprised we even post this stuff...
GhostZilla is your friend. I also recommend a secure anonymous proxy (your own, or a hosted one) to prevent your boss from sniffing what you're surfing.

my best friend...
and probably will be your best friend Ghostzilla it is such a noble browser.

ghostzilla
for in-class use you might wanna try ghostzilla. We switched to it in my high school computer programming class (a joke, I wanted to vomit when I saw the teachers code formatting.) and not a single person was ever caught using it.
It will do cool things like open inside existing windows in greyscale with images only shown on mouseover, and it will disappear when you mouse leaves its area on to come back with a flick of the wrist. If you don't need precautions that serious, it has lesser settings of paranoia. -
Re:Whatever..." The gestures in opera let you hide your porn faster. It's easier to just move the mouse a little than it is to hit the little x in the corner."
You have not heard about ghostzilla.
;-) It will revolutionize your stealth pr0n viewing, taking it to a whole new level. -
Re:Admit it!I naturally minimize or close Mozilla if a boss comes near my bench.
Try Ghostzilla. Makes it almost impossible to tell when you're surfing.

Re:I always just "look" busy
See, that is why projects like ghostzilla exist.

Ghostzilla link no longer dead...
Well after a while I went back to take another look at Ghostzilla, and guess what?
The account has been suspended by the ISP, presumably for data transfer limits or simultaneous connection limits being exceeded.
Now, everybody jokes about the /. effect, but is some cases it could turn out not to be too funny, especially if somebody is relying on a site for financial/emotional/whatever support. I don't know what can be done about it, as it is rather like the tragedy of the commons: everybody will rush to be there first, and bang goes the resource. I was going to post a screenshot, but I am afraid of my site being slashdotted...
Anyway, is there such a thing as a secodary /. effect? Now that the site has been suspended, will people go to it by clicking here and create furhter problems for the ISP? -
