free trade requires bandwidth
you have to have bandwidth and frankly the links in and out of china are pretty bad....
I wonder if google.com.hk has these problems or if the crawlers had problems...
after all the dns results do not match for all resolvers and sometimes results in tw rather than USAI am actually in favour of not capitulating and doing what google shareholders would like....

ummm already...
ok I actualy really like yahoo maps...
google maps look pretty but they are not that fast compared to yahoo flash (.flv) maps for certain things
and frankly their fire eagle stuff blows the socks off the rest
BUT this feels much like the http://www.geonames.org/ and frabkly I prefer to use geonames I would have thought it would be much better that yahoo actually did something like this allowed people to download the data and provided a web service...
I prefer geonames because its open and well frankly works
it might be solving a differant problem but really this article does not point that out to me

(looking at ones navel is fascinating but knowing what other people this is spam is a good idea)

Facebook use DKIM like paypal
hi
how do you tell the difference between messages that Facebook send out and messages that spammers send out ?
you can
They implemented DKIM http://www.dkim.org You Can !
paypal and ebay both do this and now facebook...
Please simply ask your admin to implement DKIM !

hate to say it...
but the first thing to do is look at how these have been deployed
I dont see anyone with production systems on a large domain using anthing other than redhat directory or Novell eDirectory
I see some custom OpenLDAP servers scale really well but thats about it
so given your choice above I would go for Fedora Directory Server and hack
if the choice was mine I would spend a little money and get the Novell eDirectory

YES it's Exchange and yes it crashed... surprised
yes its exchange internally
openNet is what they brand it as
feel free to correct me with evidance that it was not the case any more but I know 2 exchange servers there and this say's otherwise
exchange has the recall ability and so does lotus notes
most other servers do not have this feature for very good reasons lregards

its only the CA's that use MD5 so the question is.
some CA's use MD5 the question really should be which ones
they point to a rather doomsday scenario of having a problem with all SSL Certificate Authorities
this is not the case
only the ones that use MD5
so the question really is what is the list of SSL Certificate Authorities that do this ?

spot the cat works for humans
hey there
if you want to filter for humans simply present a bunch of images and have the person spot the cat among the dogs
then apply the spam filtering (simple stuff really works you can even just use spam assassin plugins for content ) to get rid of the spammers posting urls and rubish and denie based on IP if you catch spam unless they contact you somehow

what happens if...
Hi there
first how do I backup the system ?
( what your really asking is if your software system fails and it will all systems fail (e.g. gmail outage for a day) how quickly can I recover?)we get attacked by a certain type of worm can I insert a rule into everyones policy to get rid of that ?
(its been delivered the filters did not catch it I want to reach in and take it away)how do i get a log and bodies of the email sent out of the system for legal ?
how do I control the sending policy ?
(I dont want just anyone sending mail on behalf of my domain some people i want to restrict to only email inside the domain )how can I add all the address's before people arrive ?
how does it work with mobiles ?
there's a start

all GSM traffic in a "warzone"...
take a look at the encryption on GSM...
then take a look at the way the U.S. Navy fly over iraq etc...
privacy ? if they want to follow you they will
the best joke I heard was that emails from RIM devices where secure, people who claim that never have had any security clearance NSA keeps all the log's get over it

the aim is ?
exactly what is the aim ? I presume extortion of money which if you look at the online scam seem's to be the endpoint of most spam email why take this any more seriously than others ?
spam filters should be able to trace then endpoints... yet another reason why SPF and DKIM should be more widely deployed...
maybe the FBI might want to focus on forceing ISP's to identify who the sender is via technologies such as DKIM...

seriously bit more information ?
well the first thing that scully would ask is ?
where is the scientific evidence....
so the serious question its nice that your spam level dropped but where/ip was it all coming from in the first place ?

interesting
it would be good to know what
UOF does better than ODF ?
(is anything possible in UOF that ODF can NOT do...)what actually makes it better apart from some contractor having a better understanding ?

really just VNC...
so they have a server running Office and allow you access via VNC
bad things : server Load is large and screen refresh means large bandwidth both reasons why the consumers are going to be frustrated
good things : easy to achieve and fully working (unlike google doc's + others which are basic and I dont trust floating point number rounding to a browser javascript engine )
my personal thing : if I wanted to use VNC / Citrix / MS Remote Desktop / backtomypc / webex I would But I do not I have a nice PC for that basic editing is nice in javascript anything else really cant cut it so far

my mini review
OK
my review -
GOOD
My Location actually WORKS !
My Location works outside of the USA (at least in the UK)
well put together app not a resource hog on my symbian Nokia Series 60 v2 phone (e50)
BAD
you cant do ANYTHING with "My Location" except watch a pretty blue point on the map
No My Location for route finding
No traffic outside USA
Route does not work for a found location it adds a ")" at the end for some reason.
Nice but you need to actaully finish it or it's just a plaything
I am curious what Database of cell locations is google using do you gut think ?
(the phone companies often lie about locations in there headers so you have to build your own (wiggle) or use OFCOM in the uk)
