Why use http://nsa.motherboard.tv/ if you have m-x spook?

Re:I see but one solution.
This comes from the NYTimes opinion page: http://nsa.motherboard.tv/ Airborne Toxic Event is always fun. It's also the name of a sick rock band. We're out of fertilizer–see if Home Depot has any ammonium nitrate. Careful loading it up–that stuff leaks. Q: Who'd win in a gunfight? The Taliban, FARC, Hezbollah, or Hamas? The catch: No suicide bombers.

Er, I Think You Misread That ...
Clearly, the African continent is home only to the most primitive peoples. It's not a place that would birth historically powerful, flourishing civilizations whose large-scale engineering feats would be regarded among the "wonders of the world" millennia later. Oh, wait...
Um, the article was confusing, it showed like a White Pride info graphic
... yet if you read the paper, the genetic diversity is noted as being increasing over time the closer you are to the birthplace of humanity (as pictured here the heterozygosity is reduced the further away from Africa). The second part that the article woefully left out was that this article examined the year 1500 CE. -
On the death of Tevatron (and the SSC)
Here's a 20-minute documentary we just released on the death of the Tevatron at Fermilab, which helped hunt for the Higgs, before it was shut down, probably sooner than it should have been. http://www.motherboard.tv/tevatron There's also a bit on the superconducting supercollider. "It's the writing on the wall," Neil deGrasse Tyson says at one point. Hope you like it, and that it sheds some light on the impact of these cuts.

Re:Spaceballs: the Bathroom Computing Device?
If Mel Brooks is anything like George Lucas he will go to court to prevent anyone from capitalizing on his intellectual property.

NYC Gets a Space Shuttle (Ok, not a SPACE shuttle)
Not much of a space shuttle, now is it. Not that NYC deserved a shuttle or anything. There's a video here, and info on the consolation prizes: http://motherboard.tv/2011/4/12/new-york-city-just-got-a-space-shuttle-okay-not-a-space-shuttle-but

documentary
I'm not sure if these two forms of holograph are related, but I watched an interesting documentary about holographs recently.
Doctor Laser: Inside the Wondrous Lab of One of the World's Last Holographers.
Learn some neat facts about this lost/dying art.

Documentary about Warwick, "the Cyborg"
I think this rat brain thing is old news. Here's a nice documentary about Warwick on Motherboard.tv: http://www.motherboard.tv/2010/8/10/the-cyborg-kevin-warwick-is-the-world-s-first-human-robot-hybrid His wife has also been implanted; they were the first humans to communicate directly through their nervous systems.

Re:This is RIDICULOUS!
And it continues to be done Dennis Chamberland has been designing these things for a while. He is heading up some sort of expedition to start an undersea colony.
Why wouldn't they at least get some commercial industry advice instead of re-inventing the wheel. It seems a bit of a waste of money in my opinion.

Video from inside (!)
Here's some video from inside the cupola. Did anyone know that this thing was supposed to be named "Colbert" not "Tranquility". Funny. Colbert got the treadmill.
