Re:Bullshit, squared
In addition, what we have seen is the wholesale undermining of one facet of production - i.e. labor. When labor becomes a unit of focus for reduction, it reduces the size of the consuming public.
..."That is the nature of a system. Unintended consequences result from too narrow a focus on a single subsystem. In this case wages, taken in isolation. Context in systems matter. Reducing wages has local and systemic impacts. Balance matters. Don’t undermine the social safety net at the same time you lower wages unless you want to create a larger underclass. Many people today never thought that they would fall into that underclass. Maybe, eventually, even you." (this quote taken from a comment in a forum on the impact of robots, from the website Naked Capitalism - it's apropos, because importing more H1-Bs is just one more step to eliminating labor as an equation, in production. http://www.nakedcapitalism.com...What's galling is that Mark Zuckerberg continues to be a focus of accolades, but his FWD.us PAC represents Zuckerberg, yet again, as the sleaze that he shamelessly continues to prove he has always been. I know it's untoward to attribute unflattering adjectives to someone whom one disagrees with, but Zuckerberg continues to show how two-faced, lying, and hypocritical he really is. I wonder where he sits on a sociopathy scale. How is it that this guy and the groups that support his FWD.us shenanigans (re: the H1-B issue) are considered honorable, given their blatant distortions around the issue of (i.e. their outright lies about) the non-existant shortage of STEM workers in America.
Sure, this may have helped some H1-Bs improve their lot, but it has also helped to decimate the lives of many individuals that get aced out of work by H1-B workers who are not as qualified to do the work. Go ask anyone who has worked with H1-Bs in quantity. By and large, the quality isn't there; the curiosity isn't there; the talent isn't there; and, oddly, the so-called "education" isn't there, because H1-Bs regularly distort their qualifications.
In fact, the Indian government helps in this distortion game because it's too corrupt to find genuine ways to expand opportunity in India. The whole thing stinks, from corrupt Indian politicians, the Zuckerberg's lying, smiling persona, to the corrupt corporate executives and American legislators that continue to game the American worker, and American middle class.

Re:It's the end of the world as we know it
Here is the problem I have personally with AGW...it DOES NOT MATTER if you believe it or not, DOES NOT MATTER if AGW is 100% correct and happening because a a handful of ultra rich leeches has made damn sure that the ONLY "solution" you will get will be buying their magical carbon indulgences at a greatly elevated price of course.
Read the article above or look up "Al Gore carbon billionaire" to see why AGW does not matter as long as fucktards like Gore and Goldman Sachs have their fat piggie hands out, I mean for fucks sake Al Gore lives in a McMansion, flies around with a handful of guys in his personal LEAR JET and has a fricking fleet of SUVs drive him around to tell YOU what a shit you are for not taking the bus yet he has the gold plated balls to say he is "carbon neutral" because HE PAYS HIMSELF indulgences from his own fucking company...which he gets a God damned tax writeoff for!
I'm sorry folks but that is EXACTLY what you will get with Crap and Trade and carbon indulgences, a handful of uberrich douchebags that live like kings while telling YOU that you need to eat bugs and ride a fucking bus, all the while they get tax credits for moving YOUR money from their left pocket to their right!!! And you notice rev Al and Goldman NEVER EVER say a fucking word about limiting imports from China and India, the two biggest polluters which in the case of China we can actually detect it from the west coast? Wanna know why? Because that would hurt their profits LULZ.
If you wanna actually support real change? DON'T BUY THE SNAKE OIL being pushed by scammers like Gore and GS! They are counting on all these reports making you foolish enough to go "OMFG we have GOT to do something!" which will be followed by them selling you some scam like carbon indulgences which will ONLY give more of what we've had for the past half a century, a handful of uberrich scum making insane bank and exporting misery.
So until Rev Al and his pals aren't in the way with their hands out? You damned right I'm gonna fight against AGW, not because i don't think dumping crap in the air is bad, but because I don't think Gore's magic billion dollar carbon be-gone spray is gonna do a fucking thing except give Gore the ability to buy the nicest land and best food while YOU are supposed to live like a third world peasant...fuck that shit!

Re:This is true.
We live and work in a global economy now, and trying to fight it goes against all the free market principles that this country was founded on and made us great a hundred years ago.
Ahh yes. The "Because, Markets ; Go Die!" school of philosophy. Neoliberalism (aka the I-had-fun-playing-a-hippie-when-I-dodged-the-draft-but-now-I-want-cash) thinking at its finest.

"These people?"
And for these people the cost of paying for a H.264 encoder license is trivial compared to royalties they have to pay for images, video, and music.
And what about the developing world that is slowly coming online via shared community hubs? Won't they have the right to publish content too without paying exuberant rents compared to their income? The cost is trivial for everyone. I am sorry but open formats are the only way forward for a level playing field. All we are seeing with this WWF/H.264 debacle is a small amount of vested interests trying to justify extracting rents from the world population, when non are really required.
That these closed proprietary formats/DRM are clawing their way back into our "open" standards, services like Wikipedia and browsers is a testament to how committees, foundations (and once democratic institutions serving the public interest) can be infiltrated by vested interest and their purpose corrupted slowly from the inside out. It is a slippery slope, read todays news to see how absolutely low you can slide.

Re:Basic Statistics Deception

Re:Basic Statistics Deception
Or it could be that the whole AGW platform has been hijacked by those pushing "cap and trade" who will make a mint thanks to the scam being written by the ones who came up with credit default swaps, you know, the ones that nearly wiped out the economy when their make believe numbers turned out to be bullshit?
I'm sorry but I don't give a shit WHICH side you are on, if crap and trade didn't cause a giant bullshit sign to appear over your head you frankly haven't been paying attention. Crap and trade is a classic reverse Robin Hood where all the poor and middle class will pay more while those like the Rev Al Gore farts around in his private Lear jet, rides in a fleet of SUVs, goes to his McMansion with indoor ACed basketball court, yet has the brass balls to say he is "carbon neutral" because he pays himself credits from his own company which would be like me moving money from my right to left pocket, calling it "wealth redistribution" and demanding and GETTING a tax break for it!
You wanna cut down on AGW? Fine by me, there are plenty of common sense ways to get started like putting out a "people's car/truck" that gets over 40MPG and is cheap enough the poor can afford to replace all those used gas guzzlers on the road, paint roofs and roads white to stop the heatsink effect, plenty of things we can start doing tomorrow to get the ball rolling...but you will never hear about any of those, why? Because it don't let a handful of rich douchebags like fatass Al Gore help themselves to your wallet and the government teat, THAT'S why.
A gesture that would go a looong way to getting the skeptics onboard would be to tell that fat hypocrite Gore to jam his Lear Jet up his ass, if you want a spokesman? Got the perfect guy, Ed Begely Jr. That man actually walks the walk, lives in a modest 3 bedroom, drives a small electric with a bike rack so he can bike short errands, he does everything in his power to cut down on waste and pollution. You look at Al Gore and pals and what you see is the classic "do as I say not as i do" bullshit of the rich and spoiled, and until Gore and his ideas get pushed off an iceberg a lot of us will simply call it what it is, a scam, and vote against anybody who supports him and his bankster buddies.

Few Alternatives... for now.
The sheer amount of hate that banks, financial services and operators like Paypal have generated in the population at large is amazing. Exorbitant fees, slow transfers, arrogant customer service, publicly funded bailouts for amounts that almost defy imagination, systematic fraud reaching to the the highest levels of most governments of the world, few to no prosecutions of financial crime - the world of finance and banking it is a stagnated corrupt market that needs some serious competition, a bright light and a clean sweep.
Bitcoin is a tiny flicker of a spark in the dark rotten world of finance - not even in its infancy. Sure like any currency it can be stolen or used and abused to perpetrate fraud. Sure it is damn inconvenient to use or exchange, hardly anybody accepts it - but despite all this there is an army of people and entrepreneurs, early adopters with more joining every day that are willing to bend over backwards and work through the teething problems simply because it could almost possibly eventually bring much needed change to the almighty financial sector to which our economies now serve (as apposed to the other way around).
If you think mass media can drum up a propaganda campaign so the Military Industrial Complex can have their profitable wars, wait till you see how far and loud the corporate media "journalists" will willing to go when the financial sector stands to lose absolute monopoly over our currency for online global payments.
First they ignore you, then they laugh at you, then they fight you, then you win.

Metal Market Manipulation.
Semipalatinsk site became overrun with metal scavengers. Quoting: 'The copper cable thieves were not nomads on camelback, but instead they employed industrial excavation machinery and left kilometers of deep trenches digging out everything they could sell. We were concerned that some of that copper cabling could lead to plutonium residues.'
Metal manipulation by Goldman Sach is why metals cost so much.

In Texas, you can fake it AND take it for yourself
Read down to about the middle of the article. Texas confiscatory laws mean that even if you weren't charged with a crime, the authorities can confiscate your property and use it to pay their own salary and bonuses.
When I was a kid, we used to refer to such people as "The Mafia." Now, drug laws have evolved to the point where we refer to those people as "The Police." Mexico has nothing on Texas when it comes to policing as an entrepreneurial activity.

Re:Immigration?
How can this be modded off-topic: DHS is all about immigration control. The story even says "make our immigration system more fair and focused while deploying record resources to protect our nation's borders;". 100 Billion certainly sounds like "record resources", but the real story certainly does not sound like it is more fair.

Immigration?
Its going fantastically after $100 BILLION/10 years spent. Well done results are fantastic. See immigration reform = surveillance reform as military tactics move inland from US borders

Re: And thus it begins
That's been happening since
... well before the Romans. Why should it change now?All ancient societies used to do it, sure. In modern society it is a new thing. You only need to see the number of gated high security communities, schools, malls etc in the US 50s Vs now to confirm that trend. Or Brazil, or San Salvador, or... the list is endless. Trend is up, business for those who build gated communities in certain corruptly run countries is good, a growth industry and a nice stock play.
Throughout the world where we see many gated communities = Fear and threat of violence from your own population = Highly corrupt governance. More corrupt the state, the more gated communities your rich children can grow up inside of. Hardly living IMO vs living in a decent low corruption country, with decent social security and so no roving armed gangs. Perhaps if you grow up in that environment you dont realize there is an alternative... but each to their own I guess.

Thank God we have Gladwell's 2 cents
Now he can tell us why we should turn back regulation on smoking and give big banks even more money.
And what a crock -- that Koreans would crash a plane because of a respect of hierarchy. This is just racist. Sorry, I take that back. It's just stupid.

Re:350ppm
The reason you are seeing this crap in the press is the same reason you always see things pushed that don't match the evidence...money.
In this case several of the usual suspects, including Goldman Sachs which if anything is dirty or underhanded you just KNOW they are getting a cut, have a nice scam built around Cap & Trade, complete with shell companies and loopholes galore for their friends, it'll be a tax on everyone but the upper 5% who will be handed the money on a silver platter, the biggest reverse robin hood since the robber barons were handed the Indian lands in the 1800s so its gonna be an orgy of greed if they can get that shit passed.
Which is why i urge even those that support AGW to be against Cap & Trade, Crap & Trade is like saying "There is pollution in the world...so i get to rob your house" one does nothing to change the other, has nothing to do with the other, because the worst offenders already have their loopholes you can drive a truck through like ZERO PENALTIES for simply exporting the factories to India and China, both of whom have already said they will NOT play the crap & trade game.
So if you are for less pollution? hey so am I, what a coincidence...now explain to me how giving billions of dollars to Goldman Sachs and pals is gonna do a damned thing about that. Do not let them fool you with their press mouthpiece screaming "We have to do something!" No we do not have to do SOMETHING, we have to do SOMETHING EFFECTIVE, hell of a big difference between those two statements.

Re:I thought this was over and done already?
Oh bullshit, solar panels aren't even 50% efficient right now and if you sit down and do the figures without mommy government tilting the scales with tax breaks and other bullshit? It will NEVER break even, it won't. get rid of every tax break on oil and coal? they WILL make money, do the same for solar? DEAD, its dead as a doornail. Don't get me wrong, that does NOT mean we shouldn't be spending on R&D, just the opposite, i think we need to spend like crazy on R&D so that we'll be the ones to find the breakthroughs on renewables but right now? Solar don't cut it.
And your "tax" idea sadly is just bullshit because it ALWAYS leads to the same place, lobbyist buys congress, gets breaks passed for THEIR country, you are right back in the same boat only you just made things worse and gave scammers more money, congrats. Don't believe me? Then WTF is China doing with most favored nation status? They do every nasty thing in the book to their people yet they are put on the same footing as Canada? WTF? Of course we ALL know the real reason why that is, too many rich making money off of disposable Chinese workers, too many lobbyists making out checks. fuck man the worst polluting coal plants in this country have exemptions from every God damned reg because they bribed the shit out of the politicians! I wish I still had the link as somebody actually got the owner of those plants cornered and the fucker bragged that the reason he can do WTF ever he wants is because "I can pick up the phone at 3AM and call the POTUS and he says "sir" to me"
so I'm sorry but until you get the scammers like Gore out of the system you might as well just send your paycheck to a televangelist, its the same thing, one says he is gonna save the afterlife, one says he's gonna save the world, both are completely full of shit. Just read this to see why that don't work because those guys are already ahead of you, they will have 400 loopholes already set up before the thing even gets to a fucking vote. either you be a bastard and say "this bullshit stops now" or you just accept all you are doing is giving your wallet to a televangelist who is telling you what you want to hear, sadly that is pretty much your choices friend.

Re:I thought this was over and done already?
Nooo...it was because many of us that was for actually FIXING the problem saw the AGW platform hijacked by scammers who don't give a flying fuck about the climate or the planet, they just want to fleece you for themselves and their friends.
You watch me catch hell for pissing on their "dear leader" but Al Gore is the fucking worst of the lot, he actually has the giant brass balls to say farting around in a one man Lear jet or having a fleet of SUVs is CARBON NEUTRAL because he pays HIMSELF from his own little carbon bullshit company, and to top it off it lowers his fucking taxes to boot! That would be like moving money from my left to right pocket and not only demanding you tell me how wonderful i am for doing that but getting to take the money off my taxes for "moving fees". What a fucking scammer!
So many of us have gotten sick of the "don't do as I do, do as I say" and fucking scamming that has become the AGW platform. Its one thing if you have someone like Ed Begley JR who walks the walk and does without himself to make the world a better place, quite another when you have a fat fuck in a limo saying "You fucking peasants better tighten your belts" while he stuffs his fat fucking face. Fuck them, may they all fucking drown in the rising seas.

Re:I'm waiting for the independent study...
Personally I'm for this, I mean why should they sit on their high horses, or make that high llamas, on the top of the world and look down on us? If we all have to eat, drink, and breathe chemicals so some "job creators" can make an extra 3% profit per quarter than by God so should they. Spoiled, that's what they are!
And just to piss off both sides how much you wanna bet that Rev Al Gore will come out with a PPT that shows all you need to fix this is cap and trade? Oh the fact that he will make a couple of billion off of this without it costing him a cent since his carbon shell corps make farting around in a one man Lear jet "carbon neutral" is totally a coincidence, he's doing it to save the planet and puppies and all things good, totally selfless.

Re:Big deal...
But we are ALREADY seeing that thanks to electric companies gouging. I don't know a single person with a regular bulb anymore and the landlord is going to all 90 of his apts and handing out CFLs because the local electric company is gouging. Not saying gouging is in any way good but the way prices are going up across the board means more and more are using less, just like how when our gas hit $3.50 a gallon all recreational travel dies right then and there because people won't pay those prices to travel.
But if you try to do ANYTHING with carbon all you are gonna do is pull a reverse robin hood and that is because the same leeches that wrote the rules on credit default swaps have written the rules for cap and trade and any variation thereof, and because Goldman Sachs is too connected (notice the head of the fed has been a member of GS almost since the day it was born, no matter if a D or R was in the white house) any attempts to do shit about carbon ends up with GS bleeding your wallet to feed their endless profits.
To cause real change with regards to AGW you are gonna have to have real leadership and all we've had in the USA is one shill after another. Remember the words of Thomas Jefferson "Merchants have no country. The mere spot they stand on does not constitute so strong an attachment as that from which they draw their gains" and as long as those in the financial sector are allowed to write the "solution" to AGW all we will see is bullshit and cash grabs as Wall Street can't even think past a couple of quarters anymore.
-
Re:Democrat proposes more spending, what a surpriz
And that is different from the other side...how exactly? look at how the debt exploded under Dubya and Reagan, the God of the right, is the one who said "deficits don't matter". in case you haven't noticed when it comes to spending we really only have two sides of the same coin, well with the exception the stiffie the right gets when they can fuck the poor, see Jindal trying to replace income taxes (which affect the wealthy more than the poor) with a massive sales tax (which will royally fuck the poor) which is as reverse robin hood as you can get.
As far as climate change I will happily vote against ANYBODY, no matter the side, if they support carbon credits without MASSIVE trade tariffs on China as without massive tariffs all you will do is send what few jobs there are left here to china which has already said they won't play our little carbon games. Also even those that are for fighting global warming should be against carbon credits as the same scum at the center of credit default swaps are writing the rules on carbon credits which means it'll have a million loopholes for the wealthy and be a leecher's paradise. for an example of how a parasite can scam the system look to rev Al Gore, the preacher for the AGW camp, who pays HIMSELF carbon credits from HIS OWN COMPANY which he then gets back in tax free capital gains and with this scam he says his Lear jet and gas sucking SUV (not to mention McMansion with indoor basketball court) are "carbon neutral". It would be like moving money from your left pocket to your while taking money from MY pocket to add to it and getting a tax break for it! What a fucking scam!
So if you want to cut down pollution? Hey I'm right there with ya, and I have several ideas that would serious cut down on pollution without giving leeches plenty of ways to scam, such as a "people's car/truck" made to run on diesel (so we can look at fuels like switchgrass and algae based) that gets a minimum of 40MPG and costs less than $25k. You could then offer incentives to the poor to switch which would more than double our average MPG (which is a pathetic 14MPG because of all the poor driving old clunkers) but of course we'll never see things like this because they would work without a billion ways for the rich to leech more money from the poor and middle class.
As it is the laws we pass might as well be called the "poison to the third world" laws, because there is zero penalty for simply closing your factory here and moving to Mexico or China and polluting all you want. All we are doing is exporting sickness and misery and I honestly wouldn't blame the Chinese for looking at us like the jihadists do now, after all their farmland is toxic from our factories.
But you can't fix the problem of toxins in a fishbowl by simply pushing those toxins to one side of the bowl, its a closed system and you haven't cleaned anything, just moved it. that is pretty much our environmental policies to date, just move everything nasty to the third world so lots of yellow and brown people can get sick and die, after all who gives a fuck about yellow and brown people?

What is your opinion of modern economic teaching?
I've been studying economics in detail the last year, taking an approach I'm familiar with from programming/penetration-testing, learning through looking for the falsehoods/problems first.
Through reading books like Steve Keen's Debunking Economics, and following sites like Naked Capitalism (yes, I'm shamelessly plugging both
;) they are excellent resources), I have come to view modern economic teaching as one of the most politically corrupted and pseudo-scientific fields around at the moment, and by far the most dangerous, due to how greatly it affects literally everyone (every single person on the planet). The deception in modern economics is so great, and runs at such a deep fundamental level, that even some of the most intelligent people out there end up believing theory, which is just plain wrong and without empirical backing, and which leads to economic policy that is enormously destructive.
Personally, I think that mounting an adequate challenge to the falsehoods and pseudoscience in economics, and pushing the field closer to becoming a real science (something Post-Keynesians in general are aiming for), is one of the most vitally important and urgent tasks that exists today.

Re:Reminds me of a cartoon
The problem is NOT a case of "creating a better world for nothing" as many of us that are currently against AGW would think that would be great, wonderful, all for it. the problem that many of us have against AGW is the current "solutions" are a scam set up by the same groups that gave us credit default swaps and all the other lovely scams in the real estate bubble which We, The People, are still being handed bills for.
Take Mr "inconvenient truth" Rev Al Gore, not only has he not said a word about tariffs on China who has said they won't play the carbon game (hint, he makes crazy money there), not only has he set himself up to make billions on the carbon scam but he has the diamond plated balls to say puttering around in his Lear Jet and driving his SUV makes him "carbon neutral" because he pays HIMSELF carbon credits from his OWN COMPANY which then hands him the money back as capital gains which he doesn't have to pay taxes on! It would be like moving money from your left pocket to your right and getting a tax break for doing it!
So you want to make the world cleaner? All for it, add huge tariffs to Chinese goods, we can pick up their fricking pollution on the west coast so if you want cleaner air there is a good start, tell the NIMBYs to fuck off and start building new nuclear reactors, tell the DoD to fuck off and allow reprocessing to deal with the waste, and invest in a people's car that runs on diesel, gets at least 40MPG and costs less than 20K. Give tax breaks and a huge "cash for clunkers" to the poor to get rid of all the old used cars on the road...tada! Wow I just solved a good portion of the problems right there, aren't I a genius? Why isn't this being done? Answer is obvious, its because the scammers can't leech more money with a sensible system that actually makes things better which is why the ONLY "solution" you'll hear from the AGW is carbon credits.
Oh and FYI but what EXACTLY do you think will happen to what few American factories are left if they have zero penalty for moving to China? Duh, they'll just move where they don't pay for carbon crap and make more money! Of course Rev Al won't say shit about that, he and his buddies make mad monies on cheap Chinese labor don't cha know? What a fucking scam, and what saddens me is how many "greenies" are buying the bullshit. This will do about as much to clean up the place as throwing all your garbage in the closet. Sure you won't see it but its still there and it will get worse until it spills out all over the place.

In Financial Crisis, No Prosecutions of Top FigureQuoted from here:
“In Financial Crisis, No Prosecutions of Top Figures.” It asks: “why, in the aftermath of a financial mess that generated hundreds of billions in losses, have no high-profile participants in the disaster been prosecuted?” And it recounts that not only have no high-level culprits been indicted (or even subjected to meaningful criminal investigations), but few have suffered any financial repercussions in the form of civil enforcements or other lawsuits. The evidence of rampant criminality that led to the 2008 financial crisis is overwhelming, but perhaps the clearest and most compelling such evidence comes from long-time Wall-Street-servant Alan Greenspan; even he was forced to acknowledge that much of the precipitating conduct was “certainly illegal and clearly criminal” and that “a lot of that stuff was just plain fraud.

Re:Hey Slashdot Editor!
Shhhhh...the peasants don't know that! You see even though nuclear is a hell of a lot safer (and the reason you see crap like Fukishima is that the NIMBYs make building new plants damned near impossible so you end up with plants running waaaay past their close dates) and you aren't gonna get the foulness and radiation spewing like you do with coal you say nuclear and its "ZOMFG we are all gonna glow in the dark, Waaah!" followed by many morons running like chickens with their heads cut off. On the other hand coal comes from the ground right? You say coal and they think of some old train with a guy shoveling coal, hell if its safe enough for some guy to just scoop it up in a shovel its GOTTA be safe...right?
This is what happens when you let Hollywood educate the masses, coal equals old trains, nuclear equals China Syndrome. And the simple fact is renewables just won't scale and give us the 24/7 power we require and of course the amount of building required to give us renewables at the scale required would bring out the NIMBYs in force, it would be "ZOMFG you are gonna disturb the mating grounds of the eastern hipper hopper snail!" and that would be that.
And I do hope this is a valuable lesson to all on why cap and trade scams won't do a fucking bit of good in a global environment, because as we see here as long as SOMEBODY is willing to buy somebody else will be willing to sell, so all you do is move the factories to the third world who will be happy to deal with that pollution for high employment and you can just keep printing money to pay those millions that now can't get a job because there isn't any to get. For crap and trade scams to work you would have to get ULTRA nationalistic, close down trade completely with ALL that refuse to follow your little cap and trade game, and if you allow even one country to trade that doesn't play along the whole thing collapses. You'll notice Al Gore and friends NEVER say a damned thing about blocking trade with China and India, why heavens no, where would they get their slave labor from?
So as you can see whether you believe in AGW or not the whole cap and trade scam simply doesn't work as long as there are players that refuse to play the game, and since any country that refuses to play will get increased employment and lower energy costs there is a pretty damned good incentive not to play the game. of course those at the top of the scam KNOW this, this is why they hired the one who wrote the credit default swap scam to write the rules on cap and trade, after all they made out like Gods and even got the American taxpayer to pick up a 700 billion dollar tab for every bet they made that went bust, so why not do it again with cap and trade? Free profits for everyone at the top, courtesy of the American people, what could be sweeter?
-
Re:Cap and Trade solves everything!
Cap and trade IS A SCAM which is what he was pointing out, the few rich (like Al Gore and Goldman Sachs) that are set to cash in already have their own little "carbon shelters" so the higher costs YOU pay won't affect THEM, after all they can offshore to China who has already said they won't play our little three card monty, or in the case of Rev Al he pays HIMSELF carbon credits from HIS OWN COMPANY, which would be like me moving money from my left to right pocket, calling it "wealth redistribution" and getting a fricking tax break for it!
You wanna solve this problem? fine tell the NIMBYs to STFU and watch how easy it would be WITHOUT enriching the leeches like rev Al and Goldman Sachs... We build a "people's car" and a "people's truck" both of which run on diesel, so that as we ramp up bio-diesel production we can just switch everyone over without throwing away their vehicles, we make them at under $20k each and THEN have a "cash for clunkers" to get rid of all those gas hogs still on the road. We also build a combination of nuclear reactors and renewables, we build a reprocessing reactor next to the main reactor, as well as running test programs with new designs like Thorium, and we supplement that with renewables wherever we can...tada!
See how easy that was? But then those leeches like rev Al and pals couldn't drain money out of the pockets of the poor while shipping factories to China...can't have that now can we? With bio-diesel we could take those greenhouse gases and recycle them for fuel, there is even a pilot program in the UK that is getting the carbon straight from the seawater so they will actually help the oceans while they are at it. you get rid of the gas hogs, and because we can build diesel engines that get damned good gas mileage not only would we be recycling the carbon output of the factories we'd boost the national gas mileage while we are at it.
But sadly that will NEVER happen, because the leeches have already figured out how to game the fuck out of carbon credits which is why they are pushing so hard for it. After all their factories in China won't be affected, so why should they care? They even have the one who cooked up credit default swaps, the scam that let them package junk mortgages as AAA writing the carbon credit rules! What a perfect scam for the elite 3% that will make tons bleeding the poor! It won't do a fucking thing about AGW, but who cares? The rich get richer, that is the REAL point!

Re:Shale - the next bubble to pop
From here
They’re going to have to drill hundreds, almost 1000 wells in the Eagleford shale, every year, to keep production flat. Just for one play, we’re talking about $10 or $12 billion a year just to replace supply. I add all these things up and it starts to approach the amount of money needed to bail out the banking industry. Where is that money going to come from? Do you see what I’m saying?"
The money comes from selling the oil. Either the price of oil rises to where extracting it from the shale is profitable, or the world transitions away from fossil fuels and it stays in the ground.
-
Shale - the next bubble to popFrom here
"The second thing that nobody thinks very much about is the decline rates shale reservoirs experience. Well, I’ve looked at this. The decline rates are incredibly high. In the Eagleford shale, which is supposed to be the mother of all shale oil plays, the annual decline rate is higher than 42%.

Re:Pitfalls of a libertarian paradise
Though you're going to get flamed for this, it definitely has an element of truth.
Compare to Ayn ("Individual Rights Uber Alles") Rand's positive regard and writing regarding William Edward Hickman, serial-killer and dismemberer of children.
What did Rand admire so much about Hickman? His sociopathic qualities: "Other people do not exist for him, and he does not see why they should," she wrote, gushing that Hickman had "no regard whatsoever for all that society holds sacred, and with a consciousness all his own. He has the true, innate psychology of a Superman. He can never realize and feel 'other people.'"
Source, among others
One might doubt her intent in saying that, if it didn't sound exactly like the "virtues" of all her mainline "heroes" of her novels.
It's a mistake to evaluate any worldview based on what it would be in an ideal world. The world isn't ideal. The relevant question is what does the worldview result in after "bending" in response to actual reality--as it always does. -

Re:Perfect Match
I'm sure this is futile, since you sound like either an Obama hater, a Romney lover, or a tea partier, but here we go:
a man who claimed to hate Gitmo yet leaves it open
He tried to close it, Congress wouldn't let him.
Ah, the Helpless Bystander Fable, the liberal equivalent of the GOP's "no one could have predicted" excuse for Katrina. As if a new Democratic Congress really would have overridden a veto from a popular president fresh off a landslide election. Furthermore, even if Congress actually counted the votes and told Obama they would override his veto, he would still have had 10 days to veto the first bill - more than enough time to transfer all the prisoners to facilities on the mainland.
Please.
And even then, even if Congress had overridden Obama's veto, there's nothing stopping him from sending an Article III judge to the island to conduct civilian trials. So, at the end of the day, the Helpless Bystander Fable dies by a thousand cuts....he's sort of like Kenny that way.
As has been throughally documented by now, Obama never intended to end what makes Gitmo the FUBAR that is is: indefinite detention without trial. He just wanted to move it to Illinois. The only way Congress could have prevented Obama from closing Gitmo was by quickly impeaching him. How many Democratic votes do you think there would have been for that?
claimed to hate war yet doubles down on drone strikes and issues a surge in Afghanistan
The Iraq war (which he opposed) is over
That he opposed at the time as a state legislator. Since Obama has launched drone wars as president in a half dozen more countries that haven't attacked us, there's little doubt that today's Obama would have supported the invasion and occpuation of Iraq. Which was ended on the timeline set up by Bush, not Obama....who wanted to extend it but the Iraqi's said "hell no" to legal immunity for American forces.
Afghanistan is winding down because the surge worked and we'll be out of there in two years.
Because "the insurgency is in it's last throws", echoing Dick Cheney circa 2004. The surge did not work - it supported Karzai right after he stole the election - and we will be there far, far longer than two years.
claims to hate Wall Street while bailing out (and taking huge donations from) giant Wall Street banks
Rubbish, if he hadn't done that we'd be in a depression so bad it would have made the Great Depression look like boom times.
Nonsense. The bailout saved the bankers, not the economy. It re-inflated their worthless credit swap assets, let them go on paying out hundreds of billions in bonuses, and not a single banker has gone to jail for the largest fraud in history. The S&L crisis, which saw around a thousand prosecutions, was 1/70th of the size of the one from 2008. And if that wasn't bad enough, Obama's bailouts made for the largest transfer of wealth in history, as banks were bailed out by taxpayer dollars, but were not forced to write down mortgages for the benefit of the taxpayer - a concession that the Bush Administration was willing to make but left the decision for the next president. If McCain had won the election, there's a real chance that a few million people might not have lost their homes.
Oh, and we have slid into a depression. The only reason it's not as bad as the one from the 30's is public spending and the safety net of food stamps and unemployment benefits. Obama doesn't want to cut those, but he does want to cut Medicare, SS, and already has cut home heating assistance.

Re:Ice Tea...
Well the problem with AGW in a nutshell is we are given NO options other than do nothing or carbon credits, which considering the ones that came up with credit default swaps or the ones writing the rules on carbon credits and cap & trade? uhhh...I think if that is the only choices i'll choose do nothing, thanks anyway.
The bitch is there are thing we can do WITHOUT using crap and trade that could make a difference, but because people like Al Gore, who just FYI has set himself up to be a a carbon billionaire, can't profit from it? Its never mentioned. for example painting roofs white to reflect more sunlight, last study i saw had that simple thing dropping temps 5 degrees, if you likewise paint the streets white instead of leaving them black IIRC it would take another 15 degrees off, which anybody who has walked across pavement in the summer knows how much energy they absorb from the sun.
In the end the thing that proves to me the current AGW "leaders" are lying leeches is you have NEVER, not even once, seen Al Gore and pals talking about restricting trade with China, even though they are throwing so much pollution into the sky we can detect it in California...why? Because rev Al and pals make crazy monies from cheap Chinese labor, you stupid peasant you!
The current leadership has hijacked AGW and turned it into a massive scam. They want the corps to bail for China (where they can get the benefits of cheap labor and no environmental laws) while they raid what's left in your pocket with carbon taxes, which they will then avoid by going overseas or like Rev Al fucking scam by buying credits from HIS OWN COMPANY and then having the brass balls to say fucking off in a Lear jet is "carbon neutral" because he PAID HIMSELF TO DO IT!!! This would be like you or I moving money from our left to right pocket, calling it "wealth redistribution" and getting a fucking tax break for it!
If you want to cut down the pollution, or use cleaner tech? All for it, right there with ya, we do live in a closed system after all. But don't let the scammers fleece your pockets by saying "We're doing something!" when that something is about as productive as a game of three card monty for the player. in the end crap & trade and carbon credits will do NOTHING to help the environment, it'll simply reward the scammers.
-
Re:not unprecedented
The problem is, which we've seen time and time again, that instead of things getting better they merely MOVE to another country, thus fucking the west.
Isn't it funny that you have NEVER seen Al Gore come out for trade restrictions with China, even though they are belching so many pollutants you can literally detect their smog on the US west coast? Why do you think that is? Its because Al and his friends make crazy MONIES off of China and they ain't about to stop that gravy train or change THEIR habits, just as Al has the brass balls to say farting around in a Lear jjet by himself is "carbon neutral" because he pays himself with credits...from his own company! That would be like me moving money from my left to right pocket, calling it "wealth redistribution" and getting a fucking tax break for it!
Lets face it folks, carbon credits and many of the "solutions" to global warming are nothing but SCAMS. They even have one of the creators of the credit default swap scam coming up with the "rules" for carbon credits!
Whether you believe in AGW or not friends doesn't really matter anymore, because the ONLY agenda being pushed isn't designed to do jack shit about AGW, its designed to let the 1% at the top steal more of your money. if it had a damned thing to do with AGW they'd be asking for tariffs so that companies couldn't just avoid the new environmental laws by packing up and moving to China or South America but that ain't happening, is it? Instead they say its good for YOU to pay for these carbon credits while THEY shut down the factories and move them overseas so THEY don't have to pay them. Sorry but that is total bullshit designed to stuff the pockets of the rich by taking it from the poor and middle class. A middle class that is as endangered as any animal out there precisely because of bullshit like AGW "solutions".
-
Re:"I USED TO BE PAID TO PRODUCE RESULTS..."
Nope, I'm sure they've set themselves to cash in using tricks like having the one who came up with credit default swaps write the rules for carbon trading so they can make a royal mint off cap and trade.
Make NO mistake folks, The Koch Bros, Goldman Sachs, they don't give a rat's ass about you, the environment, they don't give a shit about anything but having MOAR MONIES because to the ultra greedy like them there is no such thing as "enough" evar. They could build most devices to last a solid decade now, yet the majority of our items are designed for the dump, why? We could be building nuclear plants and molten salt solar to replace all those coal belching power plants but we're not, why? Because they haven't figured out how to make MOAR MONIES off of those, that's why.
Isn't it funny how those like Rev Al Gore never ever say a damned word about putting tarrifs on China or removing their most favored nation status even though we can now pick up the toxic clouds of pollution coming from China on our west coast? If they REALLY cared about the environment why wouldn't they be for tariffs instead of beating the 'free trade" drum?, Why? Because they make massive profits off the poisoning of China, duh!
If you truly wanted to end global warming here is how you would do it, massive taxes on any country that pollutes, replacing coal with nuclear and molten salt along with reprocessing of nuclear fuel and thorium small city powering reactors to lower losses along the lines, stop blowing money starting shit in the middle east and third world and use those funds for a massive upgrade of our infrastructure, with electric high speed trains between major cities and finally a "people's car" that runs on diesel or bio-diesel and gets a minimum of 50 MPG and costs less than $15k. Then add subsidies for the poor so those that can't afford $15k can get enough for their old gas guzzlers to replace them.
Tada! You've just made massive inroads on ending global warming! Congrats! But the big money interests couldn't gouge the living fuck out of everyone with a system like that, in fact prices would probably go down thanks to not constantly blowing fuel hauling everything everywhere, so that just won't happen. Instead we'll end up with something like "crap and trade" where people at the top will own a shell corp they buy "carbon credits" from so it costs them nothing while raping your wallet. The current scams those like Rev Al have set up is like you moving money from your left pocket to your right, calling it "wealth redistribution" and getting a tax break for doing so!
Never underestimate the parasites, they will always find a way to rip you off while enriching themselves. All TFA means is someone found a great scam which they can either fleece the government or you directly while making more profits than your average drug kingpin.
-
Re:I wouldn't.
No, they've just been allowing the same ones who came up with credit default swaps come up with their cap and trade scam, remember those? Nearly wiped out the economy while making insider corps crazy rich?
Cap and trade is a scam by the dems friend that lets them hand out YOUR money to THEIR friends, isn't that nice? don't that make you feel happy peasant? How about how they are listening to the AlGore while ignoring that Rev Al has set himself up to become a billionaire off the scam? BTW did you know he has the brass balls to say that farting around in his private Lear jet and fleet of limos is carbon NEUTRAL, because he pays himself carbon credits from his own company? This would be like me moving money from my right to my left pocket, calling it "wealth redistribution" and getting a fucking tax break for it!
This is of course ignoring the facts that Obama has a "jobs czar" that got paid taxpayer money to send jobs to China, over 10,000 in fact, that his VP is a paid shill for the media companies, the 20 billion he passed out to "friends of Obama" using "green energy" as an excuse, that every single petition that has been anything other than "Can you tell us how you are so wonderful?" has gotten a flowerly "LOL fuck off peasant" response, refused to stop illegals and tied the hands of Arizona when they tried to protect Americans which are dying every day. But that's okay, right? after all he's "one of us" so he is "good" and therefor the other must be "bad" right? All go to hell except cave 76!
Maybe you ought to look at your dear leader's record and tell me what EXACTLY would have been different if it had been McSame instead of Nobama? The ONLY difference i can see is instead of giving away your money under the guise of "national defense" he gives it away under "green jobs", yep that makes a big difference friend, handing out money to the top 5% is totally different if it has the word green in it! It has what plants crave!

Re:change of perspective
this state of affairs is exactly was Capitalism was meant to bring about, a day when we all have much more leisure time because automation and division of labour has made long hours of back-breaking subsistence working obsolete.
This seems wrong at many levels. "Capitalism was meant" suggests capitalism was designed or created with a purpose, rather than being the evolution of one mode of exploitation (serfdom) into another (slavery). Furthermore, historians of the late medieval period show that peasants where self-sufficient in food and had more leisure time than early factory workers, who were forced off the land (e.g. Enclosure Acts) and hence food self-sufficiency to work 12-14 hour days. It was the labor movement that fought for shorter work days; and even if we nominally have an 8 hour day today, modern capitalists always find a way to squeeze more out of you (e.g. work from home).
a new model (a post recession model) which acknowledges that there is no viable reason for people to need to be working 40+ hours a week
Yes, that would be socialism, not the dreary factory-centric model in which the corporation is replaced by the state, but where free associations of people produce to fulfill needs and wants without the rusted-out fetters of money to dictate everything.
it's actually the victory of the Capitalist model being unable to see it's own success clear enough to embrace it yet.
I'd suggest you look at some of the early advocates of capitalism, particularly in the Scottish enlightenment, who were quite explicit that forcing peasants into starvation was the most efficient way to boost labor discipline. Here's a link to get you started

Re:Canadian tax payers demand representation for t
Well if there was any sort of meaningful political and economic consequence for representing private interests at societies general expense, then this behaviour might stop. But as it is, the same two parties representing slightly different business interests flip in and out of power as they screw up the living standards further, while retired politicians go on to make millions from their time in power. This is not just a Canada/US phenomena, and big mainstream media keeps us all fearful and voting for the same clowns time and again. Sigh.

Re:A giant leap backwards.
Originally, all transactions were based are barter, before human beings discovered that the use of money was a much more efficient means of matching up supply and demand. With barter, you need to match up with somebody else whose needs and supply are the reciprocal of your own. With money, your supply and demand get translated by "the market" into monetary values, and you can exchange goods with people halfway across the world. Explain to me again how barter is a superior system...
The concept of "barter" is actually quite interesting, and often misunderstood. People (and economist) just assumed that earlier, it worked as it does wtih money now, but just without the money part... It has been found however when looking at old societies and tribes to have worked very different however! There where 2 kinds of barter actually: the social trading inside the same society (village or tribe) and the trade between different villages. People did actually not barter in the sense "I will trade my cow for your 5 barrels of grain", at all. On the social barter side it was actually a system of debt, rather then direct trade. You seldom exchanged items, animals (or daughters) against something predeterminded. Instead you "gave" it away, with the social glue and norm that when you need somehing, you would get something back.... so in fact a constant system of favors owned and debts that you would get repaid later. And on the "intertribe barter" It has been found that bartering was actually much for of a ritual - on the old times it often required a long and hazardous journey to get somewhere where things you didn't produce yourself where made. And the "exchange rate" was set by tradition, and not some vague understanding of what a cow was worth.... To quote David Graeber:
In the 1940s, an anthropologist, Ronald Berndt, described one dzamalag ritual, where one group in possession of imported cloth swapped their wares with another, noted for the manufacture of serrated spears. Here too it begins as strangers, after initial negotiations, are invited to the hosts’ camp, and the men begin singing and dancing, in this case accompanied by a didjeridu. Women from the hosts’ side then come, pick out one of the men, give him a piece of cloth, and then start punching him and pulling off his clothes, finally dragging him off to the surrounding bush to have sex, while he feigns reluctance, whereon the man gives her a small gift of beads or tobacco. Gradually, all the women select partners, their husbands urging them on, whereupon the women from the other side start the process in reverse, re-obtaining many of the beads and tobacco obtained by their own husbands. The entire ceremony culminates as the visitors’ men-folk perform a coordinated dance, pretending to threaten their hosts with the spears, but finally, instead, handing the spears over to the hosts’ womenfolk, declaring: “We do not need to spear you, since we already have!”

Re:Super tired of these two banks.
Romney would also make sure that your hidden swiss bank accounts can stay hidden.
In all seriousness neither party wants to reform Wall Street. They're so far in bed with the banks that they wouldn't do anything to hurt business as usual.Just look at how the bailouts were actually done, or who's sitting in the Treasury chair.

Re:God this is stupid
"Groups that have has a lasting impact on the social order -- the Populists, the original Progressives, suffragettes, labor, blacks -- organized outside the party system; indeed, when they were brought in the tent, they became less effective. The public has been told, again and again, the only choice is to hold your nose and select one of the two parties. It's time we recognize that that myth no longer serves us. "

Re:Waiting....
Don't you just love how they use the word socialism like kiddie fiddler yet socialism for the rich is EXACTLY what we have in the USA? What else would you call it when you privatize all the profits while making the losses public but classic Soviet style socialism?
As for TFA frankly i would trust EITHER side of the debate to tell me its raining. on the right you have Shell and BP, neither one very nice, on the left you have the Rev Al Gore and his supporters who fart around in lear jets and motorcades while living like pigs in houses with indoor basketball courts while saying YOU dirty peasants need to pay to "save the planet". Well i say fuck them both, hell the ONLY one I would listen to for more than the time it takes to tell them to kiss my ass would be Ed begley Jr and that's because he isn't a hypocritical bastard like most of the "greenies" like Gore. he lives in a VERY modest house, recycles everything, drive a little electric car only when he can't ride his bicycle, the man walks the walk. But both Gore and BP are scammers of the highest order and anybody who listens to them is just being fleeced.
Hell they have the one who cooked up credit default swaps aka housing market killers, working on their crap & trade scam! if THAT doesn't tell you its gonna be more rigged than a game of three card Monty I don't know what does! We should tell BOTH sides to DIAF, after all it'll be good for the environment wouldn't it?

Re:I am not worried about it
Not to mention everybody seems to forget the "hey its cold as hell!" weather many of us grew up with was called by a thing now known as the "little ice age" which was naturally COLDER than the average. i would also point out this little blue ball has been, and always will be, one violent chaotic mutha when it comes to weather shifts, see the medieval warming period for a nice long period of freaky warm weather which i think I can state without fear of contradiction was NOT caused by SUVs.
Finally allow me to say if you believe a damned word from that hypocrite rev Al gore you need your head examined. not only has he set himself up to be a carbon billionaire but the man lives in a house sucking more energy than a dozen family dwellings, with an indoor basketball court and enough AC blasting to equal the carbon footprint of a couple of dozen families, the man has a fleet of SUVs while he tells your peasant ass to ride the bus and has the brass balls to say farting around in his own personal Lear jet as well as all of the above makes him carbon NEUTRAL...because he pays himself carbon credits from his own company. that would be like me moving money from my left to right pocket, calling it wealth redistribution, and then demanding you change your lifestyle to reimburse me for my "loss". Oh and just FYI but the same one that created credit default swaps, aka instant bailouts or economy killers. Guess what her new job is? why its writing the rules for carbon derivities which i'm sure when she's done while you'll pay more for...well everything, her good friends at Goldman Sachs and Mr Gore could switch to coal burning and end up getting paid for being "green" just as she sold junk housing mortgages as AAA investments.
So if you want to cut down because its better for the air fine and dandy, maybe you should look to Ed Begly Jr who lives a shining example of how the individual can significantly lower their footprint. But please watch this video and don't fall for the hucksters like Rev Al and his religion of Crap & Trade. the ONLY thing Al Gore gives a shit about is Al Gore or he wouldn't be blowing through energy like shit through a goose and living in a house that would make Hugh Hefner blush while driving a fleet worthy of a third world dictator. The only inconvenient truth is Al Gore has set up a scam that will make him tankers full of money and wants YOU to pay for it, its a reverse Robin Hood, take from the poor to give to the rich. And you notice Rev Al has NEVER, not even once, said a single word about possibly maybe stopping China's MFN status and limiting imports while they are polluting so bad we can detect it on the west coast? why is that? maybe because his portfolio is making mad MONIES from china, just like his friends? this isn't about left or right folks, this is about scammers and the scams they pull. Again no problem with simply setting goals and limits, look at how much cleaner our air is now compared to the 70s, it CAN be done without cutting Al Gore a check.

Re:Priorities
I won't comment on the EU, but I'll comment on the Euro, as you brought that up. The Euro cannot survive in a system so heavily unbalanced by Germany's mercantilist approach of "beggar thy neighbor" through extreme trade surplus combined with wage suppression. When individual countries are no longer monopoly issuers of their own currencies, they lack the monetary means of counteracting such negative external influences. Bundesbank policies based on dated neoliberal economic ideas that ignore what Modern Monetary Theory teaches us and the suicidal suggestions of austerity measures in difficult times make it inevitable that the weakest nations in the eurozone will be constantly suffering and in continuous needs of bailouts and other economic aid. As they fall out of the union, Germany's destructive influence will concentrate on the next weakest members, and so on. The behavior of the eurozone is essentially cannibalistic. It is impossible to sustain a monetary union either i) nations in it being far more homogeneous in economic terms than the eurozone members, or ii) significantly greater integration, including common bonds and other national debt instruments, and so on (which is politically unacceptable).

Re:lot of record breaking floods lately
No I personally think that it is being used as an excuse to leech money and frankly it doesn't matter WHAT the climate data says because as far as those running the AGW show are concerned its cash in time baby yeah!
For example Rev Al Gore, who has a house with an indoor basketball court and drives a fleet of SUVs is set to become a carbon billionaire, the ones who cooked up credit default swaps, aka economy killers? Yeah guess whose writing the rules for the carbon market? Those who are on the AGW bandwagon might want to watch this video to see how EASY it is to game the system. And it WILL be gamed my friend, billions are at stake!
Now watch how quickly I disappear thanks to mods by those that follow the AGW religion. For those that make fun of believers in a sky bully they certainly don't like having any of their "Gods" defamed, do they? Even though I have provided links to the evidence right there for them to see. Here is the truth of AGW: That frankly IT DOESN'T MATTER what the data says, because the leeches and vampires at the top 1% of the heap have ALREADY FIGURED OUT HOW TO PROFIT MASSIVELY so that in the end carbon will NOT go down, it'll just get moved on the books, the same way they moved money from YOUR pockets to THEIRS during the last "crisis". And folks wonder why so many don't support AGW? Could it be that the pigs have already lined up to take a chunk of your wallet while filling their sacks with gold?
-
Re:Reserves isn't the only reason...
Oh you want to see how quick one can get modded troll, watch this: Isn't kinda funny how the ONLY solution being pushed is cap and trade by Al Gore, who just so happens to have himself set up to be a billionaire off of crap and trade? or that the same ones that set up credit default swaps, aka economy killers, are now writing the laws for crap and trade? Maybe some ought to watch this video to see just how easy it is to make MASSIVE MONIES while scamming the fuck out of crap and trade?
You watch how quick THAT gets downmodded, because Rev Al Gore has made AGW into the new religion and all that oppose his massive wealth redistribution (much into his own pockets) into the new heretics. It would be like me moving money from my right to left pocket, calling it wealth redistribution , demanding AND GETTING a tax break for it! The guy lives in a McMansion, drives a personal Lear jet and a fleet of SUVs and then has the balls to tell ME to take the bus? To quote Mr Garrison "You go to hell Al Gore, you go to hell and you die!"
-
Re:Like all ignorant blowhards I oppose science.
Well first of all I think using words like truther and denier just brings in stupid partisan bullshit in what SHOULD be a healthy debate. Correct me if I'm wrong but I kinda thought science was supposed to educate, not be like religion where all that oppose dogma are labeled "other" and attacked?
Now here is what I personally have against the whole climate change, which make up your damned mind is it global warming or global cooling? Climate change is a cop out, the climate has been changing for all of recorded history!
But here is the problem: The ONLY "solution" we have been offered is carbon credits by the likes of Rev Al Gore who neglects to tell you the "inconvenient truth" that he has set himself up to be a carbon billionaire, the same ones that cooked up credit default swaps, aka economy killers are writing the rules for the carbon derivatives market and the most telling to me? notice how YOU HAVE NEVER SEEN Rev Al or his buddies come out in favor of tariffs against India and China, even though both countries have given the finger to carbon scams and said they won't play the game? Why is that? Could it be because Gore and his friends are making crazy monies in China and India, and don't give a fuck that dumping carbon credit scams on top of an already broken economy would royally buttfuck us as long as they can leech a few more sheckles before they bail?
I'm all for using less, we only have one planet and we should take care of it. but the only things i've seen is more bullshit, more scams, more bubbles, more ways for the top 1% to rob the middle class and poor before taking their money and buying another polluting factory in China. Perhaps one should watch this video that explains why you are being had. Reduction yes, carbon scamming, no. oh and lets tax the living fuck out of anything coming from factories that pollute and stop allowing designed for the dump hardware off the boat, okay? hell Newegg is still selling brand new IP V4 routers! Talk about prebuilt garbage!
