Assassination Politics
Assassination Politics I think he went to jail for it.

Re:Talk or else!
Obligatory paper on assassination politics ; only relatively sophisticated enemies of the people hate crypto because of this one though.

Re:How to kill your boss...

Read about Jim Bell
Yes you have a low level script kiddie who probably wouldn't have to worry about being killed (not saying they'd actually be safe) if they inform.
But hackers with a high degree of skill and expertise have probably read about or heard about Assassination politics.

Read all of it and then comment on whether or not you think informants shouldn't fear death threats.

Sociopathic CEOs might think so....
Would "assassination politics" work for patent trolls too?
/waits for black helicopters. -
Re:We don't deserve to win"I believe the term first injects itself into the mainstream ~1998"
Yup, but other than that I found it being mentionned as "al-Qaida" in July 1996. http://www.outpost-of-freedom.com/bin_ladin.htm and I can tell it's authenticate because it was quoted by a 1996 usenet post http://groups.google.com/group/shamash.eretz-yisr

Re:America is no longer a free world
In case you are not aware, The USA has been under martial law since 1930-s, when the government went bankrupt and the law was instituted as a bankruptcy proceedings that last for 70 years now. ...then packing the US Supreme Court with neo-cons (and another timely terrorist attack to justify martial law).
For starters, read sui juris by Nord Davis here.
Then research what the golden tassles on the standard mean in every courtroom in america. (I am working on that one myself).
Then learn the diff between the "UNITED STATES" and the "united states".More
America was screwed for a long time now; but it will last for a long time to come whatever Bush and Co will do. -
Assassination politics
http://www.outpost-of-freedom.com/jimbellap.htm
The basic idea is, if you don't like the behaviour of a politician, or government representative, you contribute some $$ to a 'betting pool' for that person. Your bet is a prediction of the date of assassination of your selected public figure.
The value of the betting pool is visible to everyone, and all payments in or out of the pool are anonymous.
Probably wouldn't work in this case though, because the payee is not anonymous.

Hitmen.
Well... this model would have probably helped them more than the standard one. Pooling the settlement money that way and making the judge disappear would have sent a pretty strong message...

Looks like you need to read up on Assassination Politics

polygraph is a fraud
You might want to check out this site which debunks the myth that polygraphs work. And yes, I'll bet most people probably give up their passwords themselves. For instance, Jim Bell, the guy behind Assination Politcs, a guy who should know better, gave up his PGP passphrase as part of his plea bargin. He is now suing the state of Washington and a host of others for the costs of breaking the encryption, brute-force using 1997 hardware.

Assassination Politics.
Been reading a bit of John Bell, have we?
I think the biggest problem for what he proposes would simply be that unpopular people would frequently get shot. Heck, so would popular people. Anyone who's well known enough will have a critical mass of enemies who'd toss in a buck for their assassination. This wouldn't destroy power; it'd destroy celebrity as well.

get some perpective
What a waste of taxpayer money
Yeah ! That game cost like what ? One million dollars (flame me, it may be five as far as I care)?
With that money they could have killed extra terrrorists ! They could have bought 1000 murderous machine guns, 1/1500th of a bloody B2 bomber, 1/20th of an Apache helicopter or 1/736th of an intercontinental nuke.
I mean, get some perspective. That's even less money they can spend killing people or they can use to fund terrorists
