Re:So Dems don't care I guess
f IT is biased against republicans,
I think the bias you are talking about occurs in coastal states, which are predominantly liberal.
and news media is biased against republicans,
Not all media is biased, there are some main media that offer both sides. Maybe not always, but the effort is there. Also, if a person is smart. They reference multiple sites when getting their information. Both opposed and for any given subject.
and Hollywood is biased against republicans,Again, not all Hollywood. Look up republican actors/actress's.
and women are all biased against republicans
There are women republican senators, governors, congresswomen, business leaders, and just every day American citizens.
if sports is biased against republicans,
Easier just to link on this one: https://www.ranker.com/list/sp...
if social media is biased against republicans,
This one, I actually think is true when it comes to our main stream social media.
immigrants are biased against republicans,
Immigrants, or minorities? Or Naturalized citizen? I don't think all are against republicans. -
Re:nope
Agreed. Although it is actually worse then 5% !
Here is a list of ALL the movies that came out in 2017. Out of the 704 movies released in 2017 only ~14 were good IMHO. That is, 100 * 14 / 704 = 1.988%
And that IS including the dumb, dormulaic, mindless-action, pop movies:
- Cars 3
- Despicable Me 3
- Dunkirk
- Guardians of the Galaxy 2
- Thor Ragnarok
- Wonder WomanRoughly ~2% of movies are good, the rest are garbage.
/sarcasm Here's to another 126 Hollywood shitty re-makes that no one asked for! Maybe the sixth remake of Robin Hood will be the golden ticket. *snicker* -

Re:A problem with an easy solution
there's still plenty of crooks, thieves, rapists and murders driving taxis.
Bullshit. I've never heard of a taxi driver murding anyone.
Ok so because you've never heard of it never happened?
-
Your idea already failed
If the "Takesi" were so awesome, Uber and Lyft would never have taken off.
Your first problem with Takesi, is that your limited fleet is no where large enough to fill driver demand, and as a result you charge way more than is needed and never have cars without a huge wait (if you can even get one at all).
Your second problem is that after a while you no longer have a fleet of known safe drivers but a fleet of drivers who are assholes, rapists, and murderers. Why you failed to screen these out I have no idea, but you failed far worse than Uber or Lyft, which have ratings so bad drivers get booted very quickly. Takesis have no such feedback nor a way for a passenger to check on a driver who is about to pick them up, so assholes get to stay a driver forever.
Your second problem is that your "vehicles inspected by the company themselves" are in way worse shape, with disintegrating seats and smelly - after all why should them seem in good condition when you can't control which Takeski you get or rate them? Again passengers cannot tell what is coming for them (*shudder*).
Your third problem is that for whatever reason your "coordination from a central location" sucks horrifically compared to Uber and Lyft, who have drivers nearby almost everyone instead of a half-hour wait for a Takeski, not to mention your company distributed GPS receivers are about 400 years old and only show old Roman messenger paths compared to the very modern nav systems Uber and Lyft drivers use.
The Takeski will be more costly than Uber and Lyft, yes... but also suck more in every conceivable way. And THAT is why Uber and Lyft are so successful, because if taxis were just a bit more expensive but offered better service people would mostly use taxis. The reality on the ground is that I would pay 10x more to not use a taxi because of horrific (and I do not use that word lightly, I really mean HORRIFIC) experiences form taxi drivers and cabs.
I will say there is one exception (there's always an exception) - Black Cabs in London I've used over the years have truly been excellent, I would use those over Lyft and Uber if the wait is reasonable. They truly are professionals in a way I've never seen any other city across the Earth manage.

Pranks
No, this is not a good analogy. Swatting was recognized as a prank before this incident. And intent matters. With the amount of people texting while driving, there's gonna be a lot of murderers out there if we start changing the mentality towards the definition of murder.
It would also be one hell of a which hunt to get rid of all the celebrity murderers too.
Throwing rocks from an overpass is just prank, no one intends to kill a father of 3 driving on the freeway below. Does their intent matter when their rock crashes throw the windshield and devastates the man's skull?
A drunk driver never has the intent to kill a family vacationing at Disney World, but does his intent matter when he does?
You seriously need to rethink how you analyze things in this world.

Re: What did you THINK would happen?
Comparing it to hiring a hitman is actually the best analogy I've seen in all this mess.
If you hire a hitman, you are guilty of the murder. So is the hitman. You are BOTH guilty. In the same vein, both the *spits* prankster AND the officer who fired the killing shot are guilty.
No, this is not a good analogy. Swatting was recognized as a prank before this incident. And intent matters. With the amount of people texting while driving, there's gonna be a lot of murderers out there if we start changing the mentality towards the definition of murder.

Obvious solution: Ditch polygyny and replace it...
with multiple marriages for all, where a man can have multiple wives and his wives can have multiple husbands, and so on and so on.
For good measure, let people marry animals and inanimate objects. Hello Alexa....

Re:T is doing it wrong [Re:No Worries.]
"The essence of globalization is: labor is commoditized as mobile capital is free to roam the globe for the lowest cost labor."
You forgot to add: and prices go down for consumers. That is, everyone.
However, if you are an average working class American, then your incomes and your throats are being cut by the huge influx of cheap labor. Working class jobs are being destroyed by low income labor at one end and automation at the other, leaving working class voters angry and broke and with no place to go.
That's where the backlash is coming from, and that's why so many upper income people can't see any problem with it. It's the old old problem of the landed gentry and the nobility looking down their noses at all of those stinking whining peasants, all over again.I don't know what you think "average working class American" really is, but:
http://www.ranker.com/list/mos...
Seems to indicate plenty of semi-skilled services fields. You are correct that at the very low-end, workers are displaced by open trade and open border. But I suspect those jobs are going to be replaced by automation anyway.
The US simply is a much more service-oriented economy now. And in the coming decades, it'll be even more so. Notice how so many of the most common jobs in the US are things like sales, education, healthcare (nurses, pharmacists, clinic workers) and restaurants? That's your *real* "average working class" nowadays.
The caricature of the displaced grunt laborer as the "real American" and everyone else as "uppidy landed gentry" is just that: a caricature. It was unfortunate that it also happens to resonate with a (small) demographic who were in key voting districts in 2016.
But let's dispel this myth that the displaced coal miner or factory worker is the "real average working class American" who are the majority being oppressed by the greedy minority of "white collar workers".
That hasn't been true in 2 decades. The US is *mostly* white collar workers today. And it benefits hugely from open trade (and would from open borders).

Re:Yeah, blame the parents
Parents who at the same christmas complain if the daughter plays to much on the new computer express a bias.
Anecdote pulled out of posterior invagination.
Television programming where the only computer affiliate is a dorky guy who might be brilliant at computers but is awkward at anything else expresses a bias.
As opposed to the shows that have computer geeks being a woman (47 listed, not including Arrow, Flash or Supernatural)?
Yes, you can argue by purposely not including information showing the opposite. -
Re:This works 100%
For most fat people exercise will do jack shit for losing weight. Spare me how you are so ripped your bicep alone burns 3 extra calories a day, how does that stack up to 3500 calories of french toast for breakfast, 2000 calories of big burger with "bottomless fries" for lunch, and a 1500 calorie dinner-sized appetizer before your actual 2000 calorie dinner, followed with a 750 calorie nice big fudge brownie with icecream for dessert?
Moving your ass more? Enjoy running 4 marathons a day, that might get you down to a surplus of only a few thousand calories, which I'm sure you can make up with a few deadlifts amirite? No. Fix your god damn diet. I guarantee that if you stop eating this shit, your teeth will stop falling out and you'll stop being fat.

Re:This isn't a question
No, they're just making a non sequitur argument that expresses their distaste for gay sex.
And yet here is why I tend to suspect projection:
http://www.ranker.com/list/top...
I also had a few friends in high school who were pretty brutal to gay guys. Now? Both openly gay, and one is a transgender. You can call my experince anecdotal, but it's a smoke/fire situation as far as I'm concerned.

Re:what will be more interesting
I tend to agree. That's what should happen.
But it's not what normally happens. Especially with gravy-train stars.

http://www.suggest.com/movies/...I assert that if Clarkson's audacious humor hadn't offended as many people, this most recent action wouldn't have resulted in his contract not being renewed. Instead, it would have been one of a couple more serious incidents and he'd still be doing Top Gear. He'd maybe pay some big fines, go to anger management, and/or make an official apology, but the BBC would still be riding his gravy train.
You can get away with a lot if you make people big money. If Hollywood isn't a good enough example, try the NFL or NBA.

Re:If new Xbox requires always on internet connect
That's when you visit a site like this to see what sort of crappy knock-offs are available, and get one of those for the kid.
"Daaa-aaaad! I want an X-Box!"
"What's wrong with the eXtreme Box I got you last year? It's the same thing ain't it, except it comes with a light gun!"Phhht. I ain't got no sympathy for the kids. I mean, all I had was a Coleco Telestar, while everyone else had a Playstation. "It's the same thing, ain't it, except it comes with a light gun!"

The **it will really hit the fan next year
When you can use gps enabled android devices to walk down or drive down the street using gps enable street view in real time. Maps are fine but what Google is doing is something completely different.
Otherwise sending photo cars all over the planet just does not make financial sense. Hook it into to their site advertising system and you have a largely advertising paid navigation system. Everybody else will eat Google's dust because of the money Google has already spent gathering the pictorial information, stitching it together and then putting in positioning context in a web accessible format. I would imagine that a paid version of the software that will street view navigation would be add free, but do not be surprised if within the next year you see something like this launched on Nexus, Samsungs and in some vehicles with the processor and navigation support. The do not be surprised if at the same time Google either buys into or somehow strategically partners in the satellite and cell/wifi tower business as well.
Scary stuff and no doubt there will be one tonne of shit from all the anti Google people and more shit like Apple suing Samsung and others. With Ford and others drinking the Microsoft coolaid do not be surprised if GM partners with Google and OnStar for something really amazing. ( though I would only use something like this while stopped ) Looking at gps maps while driving is bad enough and has caused accidents, looking at actually photos of where you are going in real time is down right scary.
Nokia is going to have one hell of a hard time catching up but if the Microsoft and Apple sponsored fud doctors manage to get Google services banned from use while driving in the US they might have a chance at least in Fords and Hyundais.

Re:As world's largest collection of ego?
I'd second that petition: To declare Wikipedia the world's largest collection of ego compared with utter schizotypic delusion.
Ego, because only what those in control of the servers think, will become Wikipedia "reality". (As opposed to actual reality.)
And utter schizotypic delusion, because (read these in Advice God fashion):
- "Appeal to authority" is a logical fallacy -- Citation needed, your word is less true than your word on a linked site with authority!
- "Anyone can edit" -- Only mine stays, you vandal!
- "Assume good intend" -- Lock down and delete fucking everything!
- Wikipedia's success to date is entirely a function of our open community.* -- Decide site bias in secret mailing list!
- Newcomers are always to be welcomed.* -- With banning for vandalism!
- "You can edit this page right now": We must respect this principle as sacred.* -- Locked pages "protection policy"!
- The topic of Wikipedia articles should always look outward, not inward at Wikipedia itself.* -- Make entire section about Wikipedia!
- Anyone with a complaint should be treated with the utmost respect and dignity.* -- Breed Wikinazis!
* These are actual Jimbo Wales "principles".Delusion on a schizotypic level... versus actual reality.

Re:Flatscreen TV
I love my 6 screens. http://www.ranker.com/list/how-to-build-a-kick-ass-workstation-for-_5200-_april-2008_/damien I'm glad ATI is promoting this setup. It will be much easier for me to upgrade if there is a pre-made solution for this, especially if they can make the bezel as thin as possible and fix the 3d acceleration. Right now I have to drive it with two quad-output video cards, but the current ATI card setup I have suffers from crap drivers mostly, so I hope they are working on that aspect of the setup.

Re:Idle computer resources
No, wrong. Fake nerds buy apple or dell. Real nerds do in fact build their own machines, with specs that are specific to their needs. Try getting this off-the-shelf: http://www.ranker.com/list/how-to-build-a-kick-ass-workstation-for-_5200-_april-2008_/damien
