Re:Every Million Counts
Didn't some group of nerds just raise $3.14 million in an attempt to save a mediocre Star Trek series from going off the air? I can think of a better use for that money
... heck, we're only about $1 million away from $4.2 million already!
Screw Enterprise! -
Re:Ah yes ...Yeah, maybe the new Trek crew will travel to the future to pick up homesick whales.
Maybe they'll travel back in time to 2005 so they can land, get out, and beat some dead horses.
Maybe they'll travel back to the early 1960s so that the captain can jump a shark with a motorcycle.
Maybe they can have Scott Bakula go on a late night skit show and tell a select group of people to "get a life."

so let me get this straight...
What will happen to all that money??? Think I can have some?
:D -
Re:Some residual data perhapsConsidering the completely astronomical odds of Star Trek Enterprise being brought back from cancellation, maybe the Save Enterprise guys should donate their funds to saving Voyager 1/2 instead. After all, $4.2 million for data collection and analysis isn't too bad, compared to the $30 million cost of an entire season of Enterprise.
Then, as a side benefit, all this data could also be sent to Berman and Braga to tell them how the universe really functions!! -
Re:Enterprise is looking good
Opps. That last link should go to http://saveenterprise.com/USSdefiant_exclusive.ht
m for the Defiant images. I'm sorry about the mixup (the old link worked for me during the preview....). -
This rumor is FALSE!
http://www.saveenterprise.com/sfxrumor.htm They are not planning on canceling it, but they are fireing SOME of the staff. It is however in danger of being canceled, especally since stargate is in the same time slot wich will lower ratings.

Save the Enterprise says it isn't cancelled...
One of the news stories on the Save the Enterprise site says that it is all an untrue rumor.

Re:Sad if true
http://www.saveenterprise.com/sfxrumor.htm Doesn't appear to be true.
-
Rumor false ... for now
This has been a good season, so it was nice so see this Slashdot story contradicted by this:

So at least this season will stick around. Of course writing a letter in support of the series can't hurt.

Re:To TNG or not to TNG?
I read an interview with Braga where he states that the ending of Kirk in Gen was indeed inauspicious and aluded to the fact that it may in fact be rethought. Hey, this is sci-fi. If you can bring back Spock you can most certainly Bring back Kirk.
Of course, Shatner ain't the spring chicken he was. He's over 70 now and has been battling a wieght problem since he was in his 30's at least. You can see the poor guy ballooning with each movie sequel. And in his senior years he's portlier than ever, and most likely not up to the physicality of the job. But by the same token, how could you "prequel" Trek with other actors playing that inimitable cast? Certainly, I would concur that since Enterprise is still in production it wouldn't be likely to involve that cast. Unlesss...there's something we don't know about, yet.
