Re:This is how terrorism is fought against
Are you saying I hate Jews because I think they ought to abide by the laws of the international community? That is not an unreasonable expectation, for example President Bush CLAIMED he was enforcing U.N. resolutions to disarm Iraq when he undertook his war of aggression against Iraq. Unfortunately this turned out to be a lie, a lie that Republican weapons inspector Scott Ritter attempted to warn us about, yet his voice that could have prevented the terrible disaster that is the U.S.'s current situation in Iraq was silenced by the MSM. So no requiring the state of Israel to abide by international law is not anti-semitic it's what we expect of all nation states.
In fact I went to a small liberal arts school (Oberlin College) with a 40% Jewish population and a large co-op system at least somewhat based on Jewish Kibbutz's. While their I had several Jewish girlfriends and gained a great respect for Jewish CULTURE. The Jewish culture has brought us many great thinkers like the composer Mendelssohn, musicians like Issac Stern, and the greatest physicist of the 20th century Albert Einstein. Further I think holocaust denial is foolish and absurd, it is well known that approximately 6 million Jews were killed during the holocaust which ranks as one of the greatest crimes in human history. My criticisms are narrowly focused against the state of Israel and it's policies against the Palestinian people and it's illegal according to the U.N. holding of territory, specifically the Golan Heights/Sheba Farms, the west bank, and Gaza. That these lands are held illegally is not controversial in fact many Jewish intellectuals such as Noam Chomsky and Uri Averny have written extensive articles about how Israel's illegal land holdings are not only oppressive but cause problems for the Jewish people themselves.
See: http://www.strike-the-root.com/archive/avnery.html
To discuss Israel's state policies openly without fear is no more anti-Semitic than discussing America's foreign policies and being critical of Bush is anti-American. On the contrary being interested enough in America's foreign policy to debate it is the highest form of patriotism. In a similar way we must be able to discuss Israel's foreign policy or the hatred of the Muslim world will only grow and fester and truly anti-Semitic neo-Nazis will be able to exploit the fact that discussing Israel is a taboo subject and will whisper LIES like "The protocols of the Elder's of Zion" (complete fabrication by the Russian Czar's secret police) in gullible people's ears which will lead to true and terrifying anti-Antisemitism that WOULD be a danger to the Jewish people. So can you please retract the spurious claim I am biggot, thank you. -
Oil for Gold ...
Opec: Oil for Euros...
The plan on the table is not to change to another fake paper system,
but to sell oil for gold directly, a physical tangible asset vs. monopoly
money that is printed at a whim and carries no ties to a physical valued object .
Most if not all of the world's banks went off the gold standard long ago .
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gold_standard
They fiat currency of the Euro and the Dollar are all monopoly money, ie. fake .

A more detailed and possibly over zealous dissertation on it :

This I feel is what the Iranians and Indonesia have decided in which they no
longer want to participate, and it may spread to Opec as well .
In fact Iraq did it shortly before we went to war with Iraq .

Re:Privacy != Freedom && Freedom != Privac
Granted, this may be easy for me to say, as I have not been directly, personally affected (no one I know has been killed/injured/involved) by terrorism...
Well, I have been directly affected by terrorism. I stood on the sidewalk and watched in horror as innocent people flung themselves out of a quarter-mile-high building instead of being burned to death. I saw, heard, and felt the impact of the second plane. I dodged falling debris with the rest of the crowd, and walked up Broad Street to get away from the site with my fellow New Yorkers, hitting the redial button on my cell phone until I could get through to my family to tell them I was still alive.
And, I agree with you.
I watched three thousand innocent people murdered just because they had the courage to live as free people. And how are we honoring their memory? By giving up the freedoms they died for, for a false sense of security.
We've been told "They hate us for our freedoms." If that's true, then why has Switzerland, where people have at least as much individual liberty as we do, not been attacked by The Terrorists?
We've been told that we need to give up some freedoms in the name of safety. If giving up individual liberty makes you safer, then why is it that in countries where individual liberties are suppressed the most that people have the most to fear? I'm not saying that the people who want to reduce our liberty in the name of security are tyrants; I believe they think they're doing the right thing. However, the belief that you must choose between liberty and safety is not true. Perhaps it's up to the citizens of the free world to let our politicians know this. Or, we can just sit around on our well-regulated duffs and hope that the government can keep us safe.

Re:I think I speak for a lot of people when I say.
Some (lots) of us who voted for Bush did so because we disliked Kerry, not because we thought Bush was right on everything.
I can't believe you voted for Turd Sandwich. Giant Douche was clearly the better candidate.

Re:We are all anarchists
The people who think property damage is a valid/proper/appropriate means of expression for anarchist ideals are not anarchists, they're vandals and criminals. If they think of themselves as anarchists, then they are misleading themselves and others Anarchy is NOT "fuck shit up and get away with it". Anarchy is NOT chaos, or destruction - though this is often how it is portrayed by its many detractors, and unfortunately how it is portrayed by those so called "anarchists" who have no clear idea whatsoever about Anarchist ideology.
Read people like Goldman, Kropotkin, Bakunin, Chomsky, Tolstoy and others - anarchism is a political ideology of peace and true liberty; it seeks to undermine the greed, heirarchy, control, coercion and force inherent in government and other similar institutions on the core belief that man has the means and the ability to act harmonious with his fellow man; that man can, and should, be able to organize himself in positive and productive ways without forming the central force of government.
Anarchy is not naive or unrealistic - extremely difficult to acheive perhaps, especialy as the institutions and governments and status quo is only getting stronger. But to say it is naive, unrealistic or impossible is a wholly defeatist attitude, and shows a distinct lack of outward/forward thinking, not to mention a complete lack of regard or faith into what we as humans are capable of achieving, sooner or later.
Don't concentrate on the spectacularly difficult notion of changing the world - but instead focus on all the ways you can realize and act upon the ideas of freedom and liberty starting with just yourself.
Also understand that there's alot more of us out there than you may realize.

Re:This is cool
Personally I feel that any person that can't manage to park their car shouldn't be allowed to drive it at all.
Of course I also think that at least 80% of the people on the road are scarier than hell and shouldn't be allowed to drive. Don't believe me? Turn on your local news for the first snow storm of the season (if you don't get snow, find the Denver newscast - it's always humorus). I'm always amazed at the way people who live in an area that gets bad weather EVERY YEAR will wreck their car the first time there is three inches of snow. Maybe if we actually taught people how to drive there would be less traffic fatalities in this country - actually, probably not, Everybody knows that traffic accidents are caused by people not wearing their seat belt. -

Re:In my well paid opinion
Take pride in the software you use.
Oh, don't get me wrong. I do. And I see where you are coming from. I think Gimp is kick ass and I say that as a user of PhotoShop since the 2.0 days. But out here in bizarro world (San Francisco bay area) you can't fart without offending someone. So many people out here are hyper-sensitive and focused on being politically correct. These are the same people who say waitperson instead of waitress. Sure there are a lot of people here who don't care. But when I deal with businesses, which I most often do, when I say "The Gimp" they look at me like I'm an alien.Although I'd love to help correct the politically correct problem out here, I don't feel this situation is the right place for me to do it. Getting people to use free software is a higher priority for me. Therefore, I apologize up front about the name and then do my best to convince people to try the software.

Re:Thought Police In ActionForcing a politcal mindset
did you see any recent war coverage on cnn, fox etc lately? ever wondered WHY they show you what they show? or why you dont see certain images and are deprived of certain facts and news? whos forcing what on whom? do the iraqi people want to be "liberated" that way?
strike-the-root.comupon a population!
read the article: upon MINORS. its called protection of minors and it happens in accordance with german law. you might not like it - and lots of germans find it useless to restrict advertizing and sales in such a manner - but its a normal process. its not politically motivated or even remotely iraq-related. the decision was made long ago. not by the government but by a competent supervisory authority, which is a normal process in germany. you can still buy the game - but you need to grow up first. if this is all wrong, we should also grant minors the right to buy alcohol, drugs and porn without restrictions - wouldnt that be true freedom!?
to appear smarter and more mature than America.
thats easy. anyone can do it, even iraq. most of the world opposes the war - can they all be wrong or is it just that not everyone wants to be a sucker for gwb and his militia and not everyone is brainwashed by the us governments media outlets?
fox / oreilly, cnn and all the rest do a better thought police job than youd ever find in germany. random example of a free country where you can express your views freely: channelonenews.comdoesnt anyone notice the drift towards fascism in the us leadership? go read the definition and see what youll recognize

Israel as a suicide bomber
Actually, a very good argument can be made that the Israeli government is a sort of suicide bomber. It does consistently take actions that increase the chances of its own people dying, for political reasons.
It's probably the bad choice of targets of these suicide bombers, that you want to point out as one of the reasons for supporting Israel. Well, both sides are guilty there: when Israel sends its helicopters against a town that supposedly harbors terrorists, and fires missiles into their homes, innocent civilians die. These aren't precision military bombings as some would suggest. The town is chosen for harboring terrorists but the people wounded and killed in these raids are not picked off carefully. In my opinion that is just as bad as a suicide bombing.
It is. And I think most americans misunderstand the situation so far as what palestinians target as well. Because Israel is a state that practices compulsory military service, when they target busses or nightclubs they are targetting military targets in a sense; the busses are primarily transportation for military personnel, and of course the nightclub patrons are in large majority military personnel, because they are of the age where that is compulsory. The argument is a double edged sword - the palestinians inflict civilian casualties - but the Israeli government uses those civilians as human shields, making it nearly impossible to attack military targets without inflicting civilian casualties. Both the US and Israel routinely inflict casualties on civilians and excuse it as 'collateral damage' - whatever validity that argument has (I am extremely skeptical of it) it has for the palestinians just as much as for others.
Disagreeing with the Israeli government is not anti-semitism, although there are all too many who will cheapen that word by slurring with it as if that were so. The Israeli government, and its overzealous defenders, in fact, are manufacturing anti-semitism with such misuse.
As a footnote to those readers who now think I'm anti-semitic, note that both of my links are to articles written by Jews whose forthright dedication to truth and justice I hold up as shining examples to be emulated by all people. The Jewish people are not identical to the Israeli government, either individually or collectively, and it's quite possible to criticise one without any prejudice towards the other. Take a minute, read the links, and think instead of reacting for once, please.
