Re:Sketchy source is sketchy
Meh, that's nothing. OSU waited twice that long before announcing they lost the social security number of everyone who ever applied to their college, worked for them (contractor, full time, etc.) or was ever affiliated with them. OSU isn't even a bank. It's certainly pathetic with all things considered, but blatant disregard for consumers seems to be the industry standard. And they still haven't announced what happened to this date. Oh, and the identity theft protection program they gave everyone? It's just a thing where some middle-man company takes your 1-credit-report-per-year and tells you if they see anything, and requires money if you want any of the services they say are provided for free. Sort of like shareware.

Re:I, for one
This article claims that A study of the gender wage gap conducted by economist June O' Neill, former director of the Congressional Budget Office, found that women earn 98 percent of what men do when controlled for experience, education, and number of years on the job..
Of course, women are now graduating college at higher rates than men. There was a recent study mentioned in the New York Times which claims that in US urban areas, women 21-30 earned more on average than men (as high as 120% in Dallas), although nationwide women in that age range only made 89% of men. The suspicion is that urban areas are attracting more college and higher educated women.
At the same time, I've seen a couple of industries that are notable anti-female, so while things are getting better in general, things still have a long way to go.

Re:More laws are the key ... to EVERYTHING
How about relaxing the privacy laws on these complete nutbags so we know who they are?
How about if all else fails and we catch you after you decapitate your wife lets make sure your fucking ass gets what's coming to you?
Or how about if you don't have the balls to put them in the meat grinder (dumb pacifists) make sure they never ever get out of prison?
How about some liberals are exercising their forgiveness in Dayton, Ohio.
Great...

Re:No surprises thereThere's nothing to do in Athens, Ohio except drink and screw ... which is much less fun than rioting, getting murdered execution-style, or burning to death as a result of arson. Most of the OU grads I've known have been office assistants, who no doubt have transported their surfing skills to the workplace. Funny, most of the OU grads I know have very successful careers. About every OSU grad I know has a communications degree and would have been better off saving their money, time, and safety (from living in a high-crime area right next to the ghetto).
Generalizations are fun, aren't they? -
Old NewsGeez, let's discuss old news, shall we? This was discussed by Kerry during the debates. From The Lantern, Oct 25, 2004
The Kerry/Edwards campaign said there are many reasons to explore the possibilities that come with stem cell research: broad bipartisan support from 58 Senators, fewer cell lines available today than in 2001, cell contamination from mouse cells used to help culture some cell lines, lack of cell availability, dated technology, and the loss of U.S. leadership in the area as scientist go overseas to work.
See ya later, Johnny (1925-2005) and thanks for the memories!

Re:Rodents in general
Actually, birds mice and rats not considered animals under certain laws, this was done in order to make it easier to experiment on them. So while its all nice that they can complain about ferrets, PETA wouldnt have a (legal) leg to stand on for rats.
Heres a quick google about it. -
Re:Just make sure to make your materialSo, just because it's on, or sponsored by NPR, means that it's liberal? Is that your take?
Have you ever listened to NPR? Or do you just regurgitate what FOX News tells you? Because that's really a source of non-biased coverage. You know, just because people keep saying the media is liberal doesn't make it true.
NPR is probably one of the more interesting news agencies out there. You'll here stories there that you won't hear anywhere else. Not because of a political stance, but because they are not trying to get ratings to get advertisers. There stories are much more interesting for those with half a brain.
Besides, the current administration deserves as much heat as can be brought on them. They've gotten a very easy ride from this supposed liberal media.

Re:Killed by the society he saved.
Ooh, replying to myself, here's an article with a nice summary of Spitzer's study: "In a nutshell, this study indicates -- based solely on subjective human account -- that if a gay or lesbian individual is sufficiently convinced that their orientation is bad they can undergo at least a couple years of therapy with people who think their love life has been the result of a mental disorder or Satan's temptations, and end up with a fifty-fifty chance of becoming straight."

Re:Impressive
Been there, done that, bought the T-shirt.
The catch, though, is that it took 12,000 batteries. -
Re:A little vague...
According to official sources, Bill Clinton is more responsible than George W. Bush for terrorism in the world today. Had Al Gore been president, nine-eleven would have taken place on one-twenty-five.

childhood fingerprinting
> Some of that is useful. I had my finger prints taken as a child for help in a missing persons case.
Actually, I wrote an articleon that subject.
To the contrary, I disagree. I have not heard of a single instance where it has been found useful, and, as I point out, it was just part of some strange scare at the time period. It is rarely done anymore.
