There was a steady stream of traffic going into and out of the Spectrum cable office in St. Matthews Thursday afternoon. Sekou Davis had his arms full of electronic equipment, including a phone modem and a DVR box. He was turning it all in, and cutting the cord after more than 20 years with cable.

“For one, the cost of the service, and, two, just the quality,” said Davis.

Davis says Spectrum's latest change is the last straw. The company is encrypting, or scrambling, its signal in Louisville. It means customers must now have cable boxes for every TV set. They can no long plug cable-ready TV sets directly into a cable outlet.

To be fair, the boxes will be free, at least for a while.

Spectrum is offering customers two free boxes for two years, and five free years for customers on Medicaid. After that, it will cost $5.99 a month for each box.

Well isn't that generous of them.

The video here shows the drown was shot down in an area where housing was typical suburban housing with normal sized lots.
The video of the police talking to the man in front of his own house also shows he is in a typical suburban housing area - not off in the country.
The flight recorder shows the drone was over 250' off the ground (hell of a shot - depending on how many shots were fired).
The ground is basically flat and level (no hills) but it shows -45' altitude so it could have been just over 200' off the ground.

For what it's worth- I wouldn't want a drone flying over my house taking video either.

At that height, I doubt the drone owner would be able to have seen the shooter's lovely teenage daughter. It was certainly interesting to see how the tracker folloed the drone as it lost altitude and crashed.

So I suspect in the end, I think the Shooter was just trying to prove his point and have something to talk about at the local bar. He'll be a legend to the terminally fearful, protecting hiz dawder from drowne flyin' preverts. At around 200 feet. I have a drone, and they just aren't designed to spy on people like that.

It's a good thing he didn't shoot down that pistol packin' drone we heard about the other day - that would have violated someone's second amendment rights, and started a 21st century Hatfield/McCoy war.

I agree we shouldn't live in fear, but we need to keep our eyes open. As parents you have to have concern for your kids given the amount of incidents that happen, some are anecdotal like "drug bust near school" others hit home.
