Re:Heh
> That's like blaming guns for creating murderers.
Exactly. In countries where population cannot and does not hold guns the lethal crime is very little and life expectancy is very high (Japan: 77 / 84 years male /female). In contrast in Washington D.C. the average life expectancy of black male population is 44 years because of the of many lead poisoning cases.
It is a matter of fact that gun murders are considered a positive thing in America, because they generate revenue and money makes the world go round. News agencies sell murder scene reports, attorneys profit from cases like that of OJ nigger who killed a blonde miss and a white boss, Hollywood movies are composed 99% of sex and shootout scenes and earn hunderds of millions USD. If all murders suddenly ceased in the USA the economy would dive like a brick in the sea. Homicide makes the world go round at least in America. More murders help sell more firearms by perpetrating the generic sense of fear.
> Or blaming burger shops for making Fat People.
Exactly. In most European Union countries the government bans Clown Ronald and the like shops from a certain vicinity of schools and kindergartens and in the school snackshops sugars and fatty junkfood cannot be sold. Look at America, too many girls have the size of ass you would only find on horses here in Europe. And I'm not talking about J-Lo, she is very shapely, I mean horrors like this:

Dude, you need to know that even if you choose different user names (which shows at least some geek cred) for different systems, *don't* link them.

Re:need higher resolution and more gray level
Thank you for lowering my hopes for human survival beyond the early 21st century. Man! And I thought Yafro was bad. I wonder how long it will be before all the attention starved Yafro folks move to Vobbo? Terrifying.

an important issue
I'm a believer in the firmly rooted idea that when you're in a public place, you're willingly presenting yourself to the view of others and there is no reasonable expectation of privacy. This was a problem for me when I took a photo of a stranger's car because I believed she was abusing the disabled placard system. It was on private property-- a mini-mall-- but still in a public place. Neither of us could understand the other's point of view. While I can understand her not wanting me to take a picture of _her_, it was difficult for me to accept her angry and indignant view that I needed her permission to photograph her car. She retaliated by taking a photo of _me_ (ha!). Needless to say a device in her pocket that could have disabled my digital camera would have bothered me greatly. Which is why if something like this ever comes to market, I'm going to stick with the 1965 Pentax SLR, which is entirely mechanical, instead of the more modern Kodak digital. Seems like DRM is just making us go back to older but DRM-free tech

Re:Three degrees of seperation.
The application is even less important than the talent. There are plenty of people in trailer parks who know how to use warzed copies of Photoshop pretty well. But you wouldn't want them working on your glossy magazine. Just visit this site for examples of hillbilly Pohotoshop "wizardy".

All you need to know about photo blogs...
...is at yafro.com. That nightmare hellshow over there gives you a pretty good idea what combining something like Slashdot (which is really just a glorified blog) with photo capabilities. Which means that you know that MS will censor posts... Yeah. The Internet is sure the "great liberator" of the people. Right.

Re:$100K each?
Apparently Jim and James are doing pretty well. Jim and James are also running a photo-blog site called Yafro which has to be costing a small fortune in bandwidth and hosting fees - yet is totally free and has almost no ads.

Re:Common sense applies to AIM too!The problem is that kids don't have the same amount of life experience. Sure, it stands to reason to most of us here that it would be a bad idea to take a picture of your boner with a camera phone and send it to a couple of girls that you know.
I hate to disillusion you, but if an unfiltered viewing of moblogs are any indication, there are many, many adult men out there who think that showing boner pictures to women is the pinnacle of sophistication...

Can social and business networking co-exist?I've been playing with orkut.com for the last day or so, and it's definitely a pleasurable step up from Friendster (though admittedly, Friendster sucks pretty hard).
One thing that I'm curious and/or concerned about, however, is whether orkut can really be -- as it seemingly intends -- all things to all networkers. In this early version, there seems to be enough goofy/mushy/flirty stuff in it to deter serious business networkers (who'll likely prefer spoke.com), but not enough of the romance/love/sex component to effectively compete with Yafro, Match.com, and Evite.
Currently orkut's (obviously) got the Google cache plus the processor speed that comes along with that. Additionally, the founding members of orkut.com are largely Googlers who -- from my cursory observation and knowledge -- happen to be largely intelligent and interesting people.
I've actually written a more detailed review of my initial orkut experiences, and I'd certainly welcome feedback
