Re:Cheating
Mmm. Some years ago my family and I were eating in our favorite local Chinese restaurant. It was a nice place (gone now), and we were friends with the manager. That particular evening as drinks were being selected the manager told us that a friend of his had just sold him a bunch of very good imported Chinese beer called Yuengling. My father and I immediately recognized the name as that of this beer, our favorite brew from "America's Oldest Brewery" (despite the name, it's actually of German origin). He brought out a bottle and sure enough, it was the Black & Tan we knew so well, with the label altered. The manager was quite embarrassed and said he would have to talk to this "friend" of his. Actually at this time we weren't aware that the brewery had expanded, you used to only be able to get it right from the brewery in Pennsylvania.

Re:How is this news?
Stop trolling.
Yuengling is both cheap and refreshing. I've tasted many an "international" beer. There's nothing magical to them from my POV. Let us enjoy our ale in peace.

Re:In Kentucky...
While mass produced rice cut beers (bud, miller, etc) may be fairly uninteresting there are plenty of great regional beers. There is a beer in P.A. called Yuengling which is incredibly great, they have a black and tan to die for and pretty good porters and lagers to. I will admit I've not tried their ail / verity's, I'm more of a dark beer guy. There are also all kinds of brewpub type micros making for a good drink. You just have to step outside the norm. To be honest though I don't mind Sam Adam's but they seem to still have a microbrewery feel to them. For a slight bit of trivia Yuengling claims to be americas oldest brewery founded in 1829. http://www.yuengling.com

Re:Adobe is starting to worry about GIMPI'm glad I don't buy Pizza where you do. Pizza is cheap. Domino's & Little Caesars (both large chains in the US) have $5 pizzas. The great drunk-food establishment, Canyon Pizza @ Penn State sells 2 larges for $10.
3 pizzas --- $15 is much less than $49.
Besides, as a student there is no way that I would waste $49 on PSE when that could get me three cases or a keg of Yuengling Lager

No case mod, but...

Re:Wow you're right!
No, Budweiser is beer, it just isn't all that great. It is the best of the Big Three, but if you want cheap beer why not get Yuengling (if you live on the east coast) as it is both good and cheap.
I also recommend Czechvar if you want a better Bud.

Yuengling
Yuengling, America's oldest brewery. A great place, and great beer.

Re:What do I do to unwind? (OT)
Well hopefully he ain't spending his nights with coonhounds. And he is probably not spending his evenings with some murderous English irregulars, who were known by their black hats and tan coats and fought on the side of the crown against the Irish Republicans.
What he is talking about is beer. Originally Black & Tans were a British pub concoction of Stout and IPA mixed in a pint pot(glass). So it is two beers mixed together - one is a dark(pretty much black) porter the other is a light lager(tan). Real Black and Tans are mixed on the spot, poured from two different taps. Depending on the bar's selection and the bartender's talent, every pint is a bit different.
In the US the term is also used refer to a dark amber to brown colored beer with a malt accent, relatively light in alcohol and low in hop character, sometimes bottled.
Black and Tan - she's the one on the left - and hey speaking of fun and Black and Tans, you might want to check out the Howling Monkey - he's on the top shelf in the fridge
Oh yeah - don't forget the Black and Tan FAQ.
Cheers!
p.s. don't be ordering no Black and Tans in the company of Irish Catholics.
Off topic? am i off topic again? rats !
