Did you even go to college? First its the seventh most trafficked site on the net. Second, the name is a reference to college books of freshmen faces that many give out -- aka face books.
I use both myspace and facebook and facebook is by far better and actually has a use for people in college. facebook is our phone directory, meeting place and bulletin board.
when you meet someone, its no longer "whats your phone number." thats been replaced with "are you on facebook." by knowing their name only, you get all their information.
Also, say you need to ask that person you sit next to in class a question but don't know their name... you can search through the school's classes and find their profile. you can also stalk hot girls too.
you may like myspace but to say that facebook is unheard of --- that is a gross understatement. your problem is that you're just out of the demographic.
Just because Apple is switching to Intel, does that mean that the chips will be the same ones in PCs? Aren't P4s a RISC core with CISC instructions built on top? If so, couldn't Apple be going to Intel because IBM can't sustain production. Could Apple use a variant of the Itanium 2 chip? Plus that would keep windows users from purchasing OSX and running it on their Dells.
Most of linux is optimized for x86 it seems. I'm under the impression that gentoo and numerous other distros just simply recompile & repackage their x86 isos for PPC... and the Terra Soft goes through and optimizes all the code for PPC and makes sure all the Apple hardware works perfectly. They bundle a good product. I had it running on my Powerbook at one time.
i completely agree. i too use fedora core 3 and mac osx and only use windows about 5% of the time anymore but it wasn't because of stability. Windows is stable as though as its security is intact. when will they just take the initiative to ridding themselves of activeX and allowing the average computer user run the system as "Computer Administrator?" Seems to me, that this is what's needed.
I love when my university gives away OS upgrades for Apple and Microsoft for free (at least they used to give Microsoft upgrades for free... at least Office Pro is still $24 for Mac & Windows).
True, sometime they don't ask but when they do... I have been told by Border guards that they won't accept a driver's license (as it does not denote any citizenship). Furthermore, I've been told that although they will accept a birth certificate, they no longer will accept a copy of it and that they prefer that you do not use a birth certificate. Before I got a passport, they continually harassed me (although maybe it was because I was 20 years old and only going to Canada to visit the bars). I'm older now but my experiences were from 2002. So maybe they have relaxed since then but they still are not as lax as they were before 9/11... when I could use a copy of a birth certificate.
I live in Detroit and when I was younger (read: 19 & 20 years old) I used to cross the border to hit up the bars in Windsor. Before 9/11, all I needed was my license and a copy of my birth certificate. After 9/11, its nearly impossible to get across without a Passport. Your license and copy of your birth certificate will not get you across anymore. Furthermore, your license and your real birth certificate does work but the border guards will harass you. So it looks like the US is adopting the policy of the Detroit border for the rest of its crossings.

Apple Powerbook or IBM/Lenovo Thinkpad T40.
I have a powerbook and remotely control my windows and linux servers that I keep in a closet in my basement all the time.
You best not be mocking Chuck Norris. He WILL roundhouse kick, just before giving you the moral of the story.
Chuck Norris has already invented all of these but is too humble to take any credit.
cue ... "why should be the one to change my name... he's the one that sucks"
GM has had this for over a decade. I remember them doing it with Buicks in the late 90s.
Besides IBM, name another major SAN OEM that makes their own hard drives.
Sun? No.
HP? No.
Dell? No.
the average 25 year old couldn't setup bluetooth on Windows either.
obviously from a flux capacitor...
Apple doesn't have any 64 bit laptops... they have 64 bit desktops... but not laptops.
what kind of chip is that? is it 64 bit risc chip?

wow! you are very misled. the electric motors in hybrids are powered by the gasoline engine. hybrids never need "charged" like pure electric vehicles.

Can you patent the process of stealing underpants?
i would have borrowed the laser to make popcorn inside my asshole professor's house.
thats funny, most people i know, including myself, turn their cell phone on as soon as they land.
not as hazardous as drinking and dialing ex girlfriends... wait... this is slashdot... what are girlfriends?

It reads: "I like Adam Sandler movies. O'Doyle rules!"
Am I right?
