GTAIV Dated to April 29th
Joystiq is reporting that Take-Two has nailed down a final release date for Grand Theft Auto IV . When they delayed the game last year, they said they were aiming for a February to April target, and they're making it ... barely. "If you've checked out the multitude of previews that dropped this week, you'd know that game is looking really, really awesome, so we're counting on Rockstar to hit its date this time around. What more is there to say, really? GTA IV. April 29."
The site's blocked from where I am right now, so I can't rtfa. Does it mention when the PC release will be? Is it going to be a year later like the last three GTA games?

...just to drive everyone insane. ;-)

Hooray!!! I can finally get my fix of pedestrian mauling, havoc creating, car stealing, explosion making goodness.
>Now i can pay $60+tax to do the same shit i did in the last version! Mod me troll, you still know its true.
read a preview dipshit
Well, unless they've deviated from formula, you'll pay your money, and yes, do everything you've done in previous versions....plus a whole bunch of new stuff that will be old hat by the time the next one comes out. For example, motorcycles in Vice City and bike racing, city-travelling, jumbo jet flying, and parachuting in San Andreas. Obv I did not create a complete list.

And a video gamer's best friend, Jack Thompson, files suit against Take Two, Walmart, Microsoft, Sony, Best Buy, and cousin Skippy on April 30th.
Ah well - game looks awesome though

Sorry for the offtopic, but what does this tag mean? Isn't it necessary for more than one person to use the same tag for it to show up? So I'm guessing it's not a typo.
Insert witty comment here
Don't forget banging hookers and then killing them to get your money back. That was always GTA's most charming feature.
I write sci-fi for metalheads
How about GTA:FPS? The GTA games are great, but 3rd person auto-aim battling sucks. Tried GTA:SA:MP? PVP is horrid.
This game will be pushed back into the Fall. No one releases a blockbuster like this in April.

We pulled some disturbing numbers this past week about the amount of PC players currently playing CoD4 Multiplayer (which was fantastic). What wasn't fantastic was the percentage of those numbers who were playing on stolen copies of the game on stolen / cracked CD keys of pirated copies (and that was only people playing online).
Not sure if I can share the exact numbers or percentage of PC players with you, but I'll check and see; if I can I'll update with them. As the amount of people who pirate PC games is astounding. It blows me away at the amount of people willing to steal games (or anything) simply because it's not physical or it's on the safety of the internet to do.
I for one am looking forward, after April 29th, to all the camera crews here in Seattle for the upcoming GTA: Emerald City.
... well, except the cute ones ...
And I'm jacking the copter from on top of Seattle Grace (KOMO TV) and buzzing the crab on top of the Space Needle!
Might even shoot me some interns

Rockstar doesn't need Jack Thompson to push GTA off a cliff. Rockstar is perfectly capable of doing that on its own.
Case in point:
The Rockstar exec or PR flack who memorably touted the heightened engagement - emotional involvement - of the player using a Wii controller to mime the torture porn kills in Manhunt 2.
Yeah! And look at all the bellyaching around the system requirements of Crysis. Just because PCs can push more pixels doesn't mean that people are willing to pay more for them.
Oh I'm not surprised. I've certainly ranted on it long enough. Remember piracy is like crack cocaine. Once hooked it's a hard habit to break.
Well, whenever it's coming out, check out this trailer.
Well it fits right in wih the other GTAs then.
Justice is the sheep getting arrested while an impartial judge declares the vote void.
Interesting point about that but you are forgetting that console games generally run on the metal - you're forgetting the few gigs required on the PC so that your screensaver works.
