A drunk driver smashing his car whether it be a Pinto (XP), a Gremlin (Vista), or a Toyota (7) is still at fault even if the basic design of the car may lead to more serious consequences. There is no service pack for sheer idiocy and short of a walled garden stupid people will always find a way to get themselves infected.
Mod up! I got my cousin on Ubuntu years ago (6.06 I believe). He had never been exposed to Linux before. Last time I went to visit him (2 months ago) he had a system dedicated to Debian and another to CentOS.
...Sony is guilty of nothing, but the hackers are. And even if Sony committed a crime, the hackers are still criminals as well.
If I entrust my car to a secured lot, I expect more security than a drunken pensioner next to a sign that says "Please do not steal" and perhaps a chalk outline where the fence would go. The hackers are certainly guilty, but Sony has to share some of the guilt out of sheer negligence.
Completely agree. You may want to do some homework first on which routers are best supported by DD-WRT but I use it fairly regularly and the ability to send WOL commands to my home network from any internet connected device has proven to be a godsend.
I emulate the NES on my Android phone, is that piracy? I emulate the Gamecube on the Wii, is that piracy? Just because you cannot conceive of a use for emulating a "retail" system on a next-gen console, don't lump those of us with better imaginations in as copyright infringers.
Or if you finish the two year commitment with your phone and decide not to upgrade, the bill goes down as well. I'm going to miss T-Mobile and since there will only be one GSM game in town, I'll have to get a CDMA phone to replace my G2.
I'm actually quite happy with T-Mobile. I've noticed the coverage on the East Coast is a bit better than the West, but I often have to travel from Northern Nevada down to Los Angeles or up to Seattle and I have a consistent signal and at least 3G for most of the way. Obviously YMMV.
Any system created with the best intentions will be taken advantage of by scum like Righthaven and the media cartels. At this point though, the corporations have such a stranglehold on the US government, I seriously doubt we'll ever see any kind of meaningful change.
"If I knew how to do computer, I would help You so you should help me." Well my brother did help me move from my parents' house to my apartment --- ten years ago.
I wouldn't mind if he actually LEARNED something, but he's still stuck at the "how do I make firefox fill the whole screen" or "I have firefox open - how do I get back to desktop?" stage (try minimize and maximize like I taught you back in 1999). He never learns.
Just shut the hell up. I'd mod you down even lower but I see you're already at (-1) you fucking cockstucker. You really should be BANNED from posting
I would say that part of the reason is that the tools needed to fix a PC are typically portable and/or highly available. If I need help fixing my car I need to find a friend with the right tools, and a proper place to do the work. Having a teacher tutor involves them spending a predetermined (usually) amount of time with a student and that typically resonates in a person's mind as an act that requires pay. I've found saying "no" helps a lot, as does being in a relationship since I'm no longer allowed to fix things based solely on the hotness of the user.
Personally, no. If the software is what it is and nothing more then I obviously would use it. I was just trying to figure out why there is this hatred of Opera out there and that was the best I could do.
If you're looking for an honest answer, I will say that for me it comes from the fact that Opera used to try to charge for their browser. It sounds stupid (given that most of us on/. make money by writing software) but it left a sour taste in my mouth. Sony could come out with the most open, powerful, and inexpensive console next year and I would still be hard-pressed to buy it. It's not quite the same but it's the closest I could come to figuring out the hatred (other than stirring up the Opera fans).

Yawn. Seriously? You can't troll better than that? I'm severely disappointed.

That's an option?! All my buddies got was a month of free access and some identity theft monitoring!
I always figured 3 chimps and a hamster were far more likely to randomly type out some Perl than they would Shakespeare.
I've been to one...the trick is finding a brave Puppeteer.
In fact, forget about the jets, condos, and meals!

That sounds like Socialist talk...comrade
Because Apple will have invented it first, and any newcomers will simply be ripping off a revolutionary new technology.
I suspect that, behind the scenes, if a two users upload identical files Amazon will only store one copy.
I really hope not, I have a lot of metadata embedded in my MP3s that helps with syncing and organizing in my own peculiar way.

I say we take it one step further and kill all humans. Cleaner and simpler.
ha, nice try skynet...
Really? In my head that was Bender's voice.

I mean why don't we dispose of judge and jury and just make the guy with most expensive lawyers the automagic winner of a trial, too? :)
Isn't that the way it works already?

Are you the brother?

You can't put a company to jail, or do you?
My friend, if you ever figure out how will you please let us know? I have a few in mind that would do well with a few years incarcerated.
Lucas is recasting Ashton Kutcher in the role as a romantic interest for Queen Amidala.
The Republic just got punk'd!
