The new system presented by NEC does not need an external tank, is easy to install and has twice the cooling capabilities as the concentional systems. Also, high pressure is not a must for good cooling.

    first line of the article:
A stunning revision of quantum theory has effectively replaced Heisenberg's uncertainty principle with the concept of quantum entanglement.

I am no expert (I did follow a course in QC tho), but entanglement does in no way replace but Heisenberg's uncertainty principle. It is a restriction on what we can de with entangled states. If it is really true what they say on that site (which I doubt, since the article is from 1999), we should have heard lots more about it by now.
  14. Re:Particle entanglement. on Peer-to-Peer Cell Phones? · · Score: 1

You destroy one entangled pair when you send a bit. With one million pairs, you can send exactly two million classic bits. And that's only if the sender and the receiver share a quantum channel..

If you're interested, look up some quantum computing papers, or try "Quantum computing and quantum information" by Nielsen and Chuang (Cambridge Press). It's a good read, and you'll get a better idea of what can and what can't be done using quantum states.

you could do something like code data into the light's quantum parameters and be able to store HUGE amounts of data.

Actually, it's been proven that you can only store a single classic bit in a qbit. At most, when both parties (sender and reciever) share two entangled qbits, you can send two classic bits using one qbit. But you'll destroy the entangled bits in the process.

In Turkey, which is mostly a Muslim country (though not the state itself), everybody can wear whatever they want. The amount of women in high goverment positions in Iran is at least as hight as in most western countries. All muslims that I met while traveling where amongst the most friendly and open people I have ever met. We did not agree on everything, but we accepted our differences and had a great time.

Maybe in some Muslim countries women can't wear what they want (most don't mind, and they can wear what they want at home), but neither can man. It's a different culture. Can you wear whatever you want to your work. I think not.. Do you feel opressed because of that??

It is a different culture, with different people and different rules. That does not make them evil. That does not make suicide bombers of all of them.

One of the worst things that could happen now is a big anti Muslim frenzy. Many problems in the middle east have started with the crusades. I don't think we need another one.
