    if an employee gets hurt (physically or emotionally) from protecting the company from intruders. The company should simply hire guards.

    I think the Rootkit virus is worse as the virus can make allow external pirates take over your machine and make it seem that you are downloading illegal mp3. The RIAA (a Sony goon) will then place you in prison whereby Buba will stretch your anus into you go insane. I think that's a little worse.

    How hard is it to read disks and punch cards from the 1950's and 1960's? and that's just 30 years ago! I don't think those 10 1/2 DEC floppies is going to fit in anything, but, hey!, at least you can read old Mac, C64, Amiga, PC 3 1/2 and 5 1/4 inch disk (even protected) with Cat weasel! http://www.jschoenfeld.de/products/cwmk3_e.htm

    Leave it those Germans to think of a much better way of building gadgets. The Gravel has the controls BEHIND the screen allowing for a smaller footprint than anything Apple or Microsoft has.     I can probably name all the successful open source codes on my fingers. If one were to calculate the probablity of being surrounded by 20 models, a pile of money, a giant house, gold robots in the bahamas by purchasing _______ ______'s book/TV show/DVD/CD "HOW TO MAKE A GAZILLION DOLLARS", I'm quite sure it is higher than writing open source code. Wait 'til you "programmer" leave mommy's cellar, get a wife and you'll grow up real fast...

    When the mortgage and car payments bills grow into a huge pile next to your computer and you have a wife with six kids, writing software for free is just plain stupid. I guess most open source authors think somebody might be interested in hiring, but little do they realize its much easier to copy the whole software tree and hire some vietnam programmers for 13 cents an hour to takeover.... "Silly Programmer, Tricks are for kids."

    Just because the machines aren't making money translates that they are dead. Many groups are still coding on those machines, just for coding's sakes (and art and music) Go on video.google.com and do a search on "demo amiga" or "commodore demo". There are even fresh Eurodemos still on Vic-20, search "robotic liberation" for you battle-star galactic/vic-20 fans... We're still here, forever more....
