They can just say tell us what is copyrighted and we'll take it down but you might as well have a warehouse of a few hundred thousand items with say a third of the items that belong to another company. Is it reasonable to say just tell us what is your's when you removed the items without their permission. It's obvious in this case what belongs to the wronged party but you are saying you'll only return the items the other party identifies.
If I have a company and a third of the items belong to another company illegally. The other company will contact the authorities who will then ask "Which items are yours?" so yes, they have to identify thier items. You obviously have never been robbed before. Same thing happens in a robbery. The police have your items but you must go to the police station and identify them before you can have them back. It is your property. It is your responsibility to keep it safe. If something happens to it, it's your responsibility to fix it.
With gaming stepping out of the shadows of geekdom and into the spotlight of the mainstream
When did gaming go into the shadows of geekdom? I wasn't around when the first games came out. However, I do remember talking to my other classmates in 6th grade when SNES was coming out. I also remember the arcade being one of the teenage hang outs for the 'cool' kids. I also remember going to parties and there was always people in the corner playing a game be it PS, XBOX, or anything else. If there was something to game on, most people flock to it.
Every Christian I know (I'm not Christian but my mother is a pastor), is all for war of any kind. They hide behind some false sense of superiority because they are "righteous". They spout out phrases like "Thou shalt not kill" but send their children to war to murder because someone disagrees with them. They murdered entire populations of indigenous people (Native Americans for ex.) because they could not understand their silly religion.
Christians == Murderers in my eyes so I see a game where Christians gun down non-believers as truth.
I am not speaking about all Christians. There are a few that believe the Bible is just a message and is not to be taken literally. But the majority are all hypocritical murderers. As my mother told me along time ago, "It's ok not to believe in the bible. Just believe in the message." And that message is basically "Love and treat each other as you wish to be loved and treated."
I'm just waiting to hear what all the politicians are going to say when another sex offender from MySpace is caught in Virginia.
Voters: "But I thought we had their email on file. How did they get on MySpace?"
Politician: "Did you really think we could keep their emails? Didn't you realize there are millions of sites that give email away without asking your identity?"
Voters: "Yeah, but I thought you guys were magical."
I used to work for a hosting company (a pretty shitey one at that). They refused to update their mail systems so all customers had email issues. They used an old customized version of SendMail on the Linux box's. The problem, the queues were getting full and either locking the mail up or raising the machine's processes up so it could no longer do anything. The solution, delete the mail off the server and kill all processes. This was a temporary solution that turned into a permanent one because "It worked." The problem was, the mail was gone when it happened so all the tech support guys had to hear the poo poo mad customers.
I would wager thats whats going on here and they don't want to admit it. There is some admin there (or it could be company policy) that see's alot of mail getting queued up but not being delivered but instead of fixing the problem he just deletes the mail and everything's fine.
Actually, it may be a set in the wrong direction. After everyone realizes "Hey, they can just go get a free yahoo address and work around this system.", the idiots will try and force EVERYONE to register their email address and all companies that provide email address's will have to remove any address that is not associated with a real life person. This could be the beginning of the end of the anonymous internet and the beginning of a time in which if you have someone's email, you know their name, street address, date of birth, etc. This could be the beginning of a stalkers dream.
I'm not a psychologist but, if I remember correctly from my psych classes, memories is a lie. The things we remember now are not the actual events from the past. What we remember is basically pieces of the truth that has gaps filled in by our mind. I don't really see the difference from this and normal memory.
Naw. Doesn't sound as good as a publicity stunt. Truth is, no one really cares about the starving children. Sure everyone will say they do, but they really don't. People are selfish and see this just as a way they can get a cheaper laptop in the future. They really don't care about the children.
Ok. I know the reason they are making games is to make money but at a certain point, doesn't it just get greedy? I mean, the whole point of advertising someone else's product is to make money. So I have to buy the game and then sit through shitty popups with bee's that wont stop buzzing while I wait for it to load just so they can get even more money?
I hate MySpace and refuse to go to the site, however, it seems to me that since 99% of the people who actually use MySpace know shite about FTP, HTML or the internet for that matter, I'd wager that the alleged Jay-Z video was linked from another site. If this is the case, since the video is actually not hosted on MySpace's servers, how would this be their fault in the first place?
Do we still need the.com domain?
Why not use the country TLDs instead?
Do we need them? Not really. Are we going to get rid of them? Nope.
Most people are stupid and lazy. No one wants to type in the other characters. They are used to just typing.com and, if you change it, they will get scared. Look at just about any site that is not.com and compare the hits to its.org,.net, etc counterpoints. Even if there is no.com but a.net, the.com will have a ton more hits. It has become human nature for most people to automatically hit.com when going to a website.
How are those M$'s problem? If someone wants a crappy program they don't care if its going to mess up their computer or their network. Most people (yes, most people are stupid) could recieve 900 popups stating "DO NOT INSTALL THIS! IT CONTAINS A VIRUS!" and still install it because they want bunny rabbits on their mouse cursor.
I don't see how Humans would cease to be special on a individual or collective level when we discover life outside of our own solar system.
Most people will agree that humans are still special even if we find an advanced civilization outside our solar system. However, the majority of Christians (and other religions) believe we were placed here by a supreme being in his likeness and the whole universe is ours and ours alone. The idea of another race of beings on another planet would basically shatter the definition of life created by the church.

Next time you see a skyhook truck drive by, unplug your router. Then block the doorway and get out the double barrel shotgun.

Actually, unless they have changed, the registrar I used to work for payed $6.25/domain to Verisign.

I wonder if I can get welfare for my lvl 2 priest?
Yes. Playable and very fun watching a stalker King while drunk.
I hate when someone regurgitates this bullshit. The meaning of freedom is being free. Read the definition.
