Probably not representative in what I do, but I probably am in terms of the load I generate. Sure you get the odd PHB mailing out crap to everyone, but it's not a continuous stream. My guess is that the vast majority of workers would actually represent very little increased load. I think the doom and gloom prediction is based on imagining that everyone working from home will be maxing out their connection full time.
I work from home quite a bit, and spend my entire time shunting enormous files to and from the office. Actually, no I don't. In fact I occasionally pop up a chat window for a quick conference with the boss. Sometimes I check in/out my projects to the subversion server. I don't really waste much more time on the web at home than I do at work. So, I don't believe that this would put a significant extra strain on the web even if everybody was doing it.
Personally I favour the solution which is currently being pursued by the world's wisest leaders. Carry on completely as normal with our eyes wide shut and our feet firmly on the gas. Within the next 50-100 years, the seas should have risen sufficiently to wipe out the majority of the factories and cars which mostly reside just above the current sea level. CO2 emissions will rapidly fall and the larger ocean surface will reflect more of the incident sunlight. Problem solved;D
As TOR is a tool used by people to hide their internet activities from repressive regimes, and the USA is obviously not one, it's use should be repressed. QED.
Just the other day I was driving my car down the road when an ipod wearing idiot stepped out in front of me. I had to brake so hard that I dropped my phone which then shattered on the front of my cd player, causing it to eject the disc, which is now scratched beyond repair. In a way I am glad that I still did not manage to stop in time, served him right!
Could this be related to the unannounced fact that the number of NSA's America-observing missions will rise dramatically.
Even now they are launching several secret shuttle missions to scrub off one A from the nameplate of each satellite.
Hiring these people to do research is just a cover, what they actually seem to be doing is hogging 20% of the phd's to prevent them from innovating for anybody else.
True, the hammer may be a bit of a giveaway. Actually, I'd mount the key blank on the end of a small automatic center punch for subtlety. It only needs a gentle tap so even that may be overkill. All I was saying is that there is no such thing as a secure key based lock.
I'd like to refer you to a previous slashdot article on lock bumping - There is no longer any such thing as a secure key lock. Any fool with a blank key, a file and a hammer is in in seconds.
So, this time he has given us a clear indication of what IP linux may infringe?
It turns out they are actually triangular

Is it a hub? Is it a switch? No! It's ...
Apology accepted, easy on that trigger finger cowboy. How would you recognize a repressive regime? Possibly one that indulges in repression?

Vista is not done until Hangul won't run.
Not very, but it easily surpasses the kind of parent that needs one.

Unfortunately this will prove to be an evolutionary dead end, as these genes will never be passed on.

Perspective? Putin kills one guy, Bush kills how many thousand?
Actually, your rights end about where you elect a raving loony called Bush to look after your "freedom"
This is why they will run it as a loss leader. Ooh look it costs 5p less than a normal player. Guaranteed to sell like hot cakes.

That's exactly the same argument I use to justify my selling heroin to schoolchildren.
