Also, Bhopal is in India - their country, their laws. Not ours. Nothing to do with class warfare and the perceptions of material possession; just (unfortunately) the way it is.
If the corporation involved wasn't American, I might agree...
Doesn't matter just where it happened, either. Doesn't seem that the value of a life need change on the other side of an imaginary line in the dirt/water...
I called in to cancel my service, it took over an hour of getting transferred around and each person had about 3 different sale pitches to toss at me...
I found a great way to deal with the "sales-pitch-when-you're-trying-to-cancel-service" routine...
Growl.
Seriously...growl.
When they start the sales pitch, just start growling to yourself softly, and increase the volume every few seconds or so. It's funny as hell to hear them break off nervously in the middle of the pitch, and gives you the space to ask "Do you need any other info to complete the disconnection?" If they repeat, just do it again. I've yet to see/hear the marketer that can complete a pitch whilst hearing this...
Vista is a failure for Microsoft. But at the same time it's an incredible source of feedback from their customers. I wouldn't be surprised if Windows 7 was a really good and successfull OS, seing all they learnt from Vista.
Sure they would, seeing how much of the customer feedback from all their other OSes went into Vista....
Can you expand on this? Something like "if the version happens to be xxx then you could do foo, if the version happens to be yyy then you could do bar..."
Good point. How 'bout a wikipedia link for the WRT54G, with entries on available firmware?
"Having to do with the character, personality, intimate affairs, conduct, etc. of a certain person."
...so you're suggesting that those qualities can be deduced if one has not, once again, ever met them, ever read their work/read about them, and doesn't care about them?
If you'd never read a post of mine or met me, then you'd know nothing of my character, personality, intimate affairs, or conduct. Nothing personal.
Yeah, because those on welfare are paying into the system. And how about those homeless? You get good tax money from them!
Yeah, because everyone knows that people on welfare never go to stores to buy food! And the homeless? They eat like kings for free!
While they may not purchase things on the scale YOU do, don't assume that they purchase nothing. To put it another way: Go to your nearest store, buy a 20-oz soda, and then insist that you're tax-exempt 'cause you're on welfare or are homeless. See how far that'll take ya...
OMG, Microsoft banned me because my gamertag seemed offensive, their ToS is stupid as!", then "OMG, Twitter won't enforce their ToS, that's stupid as!".
In Denmark as a kid and now, we need to remember 8 digits to make a phone call.
In Germany in '82, our phone number was 011-49-6571-20538, or dialed locally, 06571-20538...
I don't have an eidetic memory, so why'm I able to remember every phone number from age 3 on? I'm not saying that Miller was wrong... It might be that we're more number oriented today than in 1950, h'wever. Cell-phones, credit cards, PIN numbers, passwords; none of this was really available at that time. Food f'r thought...
If there are multiple vendors of equivalent software you really can't get away with nontransferable clauses.
Take a good look at point-of-sale packages, especially MICROS... Try moving your location without notifying them, and see how quickly your system goes dead...
Did anyone else read that as "Elbonia" when they first read it? I was picturing an ungodly amalgamation of mud, wooden slingshots, 286s, and farm animals...
Or, they may simply be getting paid by the cartels to be "tough on P2P" in order to help keep it marginalized.
They can crack down on illegal P2P all they want. Won't affect me at all. If I want to help out my fave Linux flavor by seeding the latest version, h'wever, they shouldn't be able to tell me I can't.
They're making no distinction between "good" and "bad" P2P, they're just lumping it all together... and screwing us for their inability to provide a service in good faith.
now if i started running a bittorrent client all the time i would imagine my ISP would throttle my connection back severely and i could understand why...
So if your car manufacturer kept track of how many miles you'd driven, then limited either the speed or distance you can travel, would THAT be OK?
I'm sick of the "now you can download movies and music" commercials that say you can do these things, but don't mention limits other than POSSIBLY in fine print... at the bottom of the screen... in a 2-second flash... in the middle of a paragraph.
Either sell the service and back it, or don't bother. Sticking it to the customers 'cause you oversold your bandwidth is about as obnoxious as it gets without bein' illegal.

I think that's the relevant section, but I'm not lawyer-shaped...

Put you as-is in orbit, at the bottom of the Pacific, or on the moon, you're not going to fare too well. Heck, drop most/. readers 50 miles out in the wilderness and you're looking at ugly odds.
You left an important part out: it's dissipating because it's not being fed. Goes from a nutrient solution to nothing. Of course it's going to die; it's death by starvation at the end...

It does if Vista doesn't run better in release than it did in beta...
Jus' sayin'....
Sure they would, seeing how much of the customer feedback from all their other OSes went into Vista....
Call me cynical, but I'm not holding my breath...
What if the test generates an error in d3d9_test.exe, and reboots the PC shortly thereafter?
Good point. How 'bout a wikipedia link for the WRT54G, with entries on available firmware?
AFAIK, most states require that a peace officer submit fingerprints...
...and yes, his/her own fingerprints...
Which version? Check the model tag, it should say there...

I have a question here....
If they've never met them, never read their work/read about them, and don't care about them....
...how is it "personal"? Jus' asking...

...and with the Microsoft/Novell deal, SUSE is fair game, too!
Sure, because their work with laser technologies now have given the world weapons to use against us.
Considering their arms exporting practices, I'd rather not give them more money, thanks.
We have no duty to sacrifice for others, and our own prosperity should be our first consideration. If humans are to survive as a species, we'd better start thinking of others...
...and what if aliens came to us with their OWN scripture saying something similar?
Even better, could someone use a list of those IPs and block them from connecting to their PC, thereby avoiding a lawsuit?
Time for a RIAA blacklist!
